Good Start to the Week, 4 New Ideas

Good Start to Another Trading Week:

Things got out to fairly solid start for this week yesterday morning, we provided a slate of four potential options tradings targets in our premarket report, and saw good intraday movement from each of them. While we did sweep the board and find success, two of the plays, the CTLT and the SPY Calls, performed significantly better than the others.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AVEO Recap, Options Ideas & More

AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AVEO

We’ve tracked AVEO in our reports from Wednesday and yesterday to what has turned out to be a strong intraweek swing. From Wednesday’s low of 1.50, the stock surged to a new 52-week high of 3.50 early in yesterday’s session, during which it traded more than thirty times its 3-month average.

It marked a two-day move of 133% which began when the company released favorable drug trial results on Wednesday. Strangely, the PR (View It Here) seemed to go largely unnoticed by the investment community until yesterday. Despite that fact, we showed up early to the party, and had a heck of time watching others catch on, producing yesterday’s annual high-setting push.

After consolidating into the close, AVEO appears to be gapping up slightly this morning, so we’ll stay tuned to the price action as the session unfolds.

Holiday Island Holdings, Inc. HIHI

We played HIHI like a fiddle this week; it’s yet another example of us providing our readers with advanced notice on prime-time chances to profit.

We alerted folks to the situation in our premarket report on Wednesday, at which time the stock was trading at a low of .0015. Word of a massive share reduction via purchase and return to treasury hit the newswires early, providing us with all the incentive we needed to include it in our daily interests. HIHI proceeded to run more than 70% over the course of that afternoon.

Then yesterday, we caught wind of a promotion on the stock with which we had no involvement, and it prompted us to remain focused on HIHI. We mentioned that the promo might produce “an impeccably-timed boost to extend our profits as we look to take them off the table” and it worked like a charm. The stock ended up touching a new high of .003, marking a two-session swing of exactly 100%.

Morning Gapper Watchlist
While a Friday preceding a holiday weekend is usually a relatively subdued affair, there are a couple of items hitting our scanner that we’ll be monitoring for opportunities.  Each of the following is gapping up in the premarket:

Emerald Oil, Inc. EOX
We drew up a chart to illustrate the situation on EOX. The stock was kicked hard during yesterday’s session so we’ll be on alert for some rebound action today.

Oncothyreon, Inc. ONTY
ONTY is the other gapper that will retain a portion of our of our focus this morning.

Quick Options Trading Ideas:

Apple, Inc. AAPL has been on a wicked run all week, so we’ll watch for a dip-and-rip scenario; the $131 and $132 Weekly Calls should be in play today.

For Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR, we’re going to zero in on $9.00 & $9.50 Weekly Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Recap of Yesterday’s Huge Session

Our first order of business today will be to go over the wealth of premium gain opportunities contained in yesterday’s premarket report. We had not one, but three of our selections make major moves, not to mention a couple of other modest gainers.

Prima BioMed, Ltd. PBMD

Quickly shooting to the top of our watchlist was PBMD. Its performance was exhilarating to behold as the stock went on an absolute tear from a low of 2.08 on up to 6.48. It marked an epic intraday run which produced total possible gains on the order of 211%

The move occurred on monstrous volume to the tune of nearly 62X the 3-month average, and stemmed largely from some positive results on one of the company’s trial drugs, announced Tuesday. >> READ PR

With the kind of momentum we’ve witnessed building up in just a single session from PBMD, we’re very interested to continue to follow the price action. A significant dip-and-rip scenario could soon present itself.

IsoRay, Inc. ISR

We also tagged ISR in yesterday’s extended watchlist, and it too shot up rapidly with the help of optimistic results from one of its own drug trials. From an early low of 1.86, the stock ran up as high as 3.38, carving out an intraday rip of 82%

This morning, we saw ISR go as high as 4.00 in premarket trading, extending the overnight range on this play to an eyebrow-raising 115%

We’ll certainly be monitoring this stock as we cruise into week’s end. Like PBMD, we’ll be on the lookout for profit-taking to possibly put a dip-and-rip scenario into effect.

Holiday Island Holdings, Inc. HIHI

In our closing thought from yesterday’s report, we called attention to a massive one-third share reduction being enacted by HIHI, and were extremely pleased to have done so. From a low of .0015, the stock broke out to hit .00265; a healthy move totaling 76%

We then saw it pull back into the close, but we’re not finished monitoring the stock by any means. We caught wind of a promotion (in which we are not involved) going out on HIHI this morning, which could provide us with an impeccably-timed boost to extend our profits as we look to take them off the table.

In light of the monumental performances we’ve seen out of news-fueled pharma plays this week, we’ve dug up a few more this morning for us to pin to our watchlists:

Calithera Biosciences, Inc. CALA

Actinium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ATNM

Ampio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AMPE

Extended Watchlist:
NSPR, CTP, AVEO
