Fresh Plays, Winner Recaps & More

eXp World Holdings Inc. EXPI – Options Review:

Yesterday morning, we highlighted the performance of our options ideas in EXPI that we had initially targeted on Wednesday, the EXPI 03/19 $50-52.50 Calls. After posting double-bag moves, we mentioned that we expected the bullish activity to continue, based on the stock’s behavior in the premarket.

In addition to the EXPI 03/19 $50-52.50 Calls from last week, we extended our target range by rolling up to include the EXPI 03/19 $55 Calls. Not only did the updated strike instantly yield double-bag gains on the day, but our preexisting targets tacked on some stellar new highs which has extended our observed trading range by a considerable amount.

The following numbers are the total swings made by the $50-52.50’s since last week, and the single-session surge recorded yesterday by the $55’s:

EXPI 03/19 $50-55 Calls
$50:  2.16-8.20 (+280%)
$52.50: 1.45-6.10 (+321%)
$55:  2.10-4.60 (+119%)

XL Fleet Corp. XL – Recap:

It was also this past Wednesday morning that we flagged some longer-term contracts in the XL options chain, with the XL 05/21 $12.50-15 Calls. Despite just a few sessions passing since then, this bottom bouncing stock has continued to add modest gains daily.

We already have seen some notable moves in those plays with more than two month remaining until expiration. We’ll be interested to see where they go from here in the event of continued northward movement in XL. Here are the gains we’ve tracked so far:

XL 05/21 $12.50-15 Calls
$50:  2.45-3.50 (+43%)
$52.50: 2.00-3.00 (+50%)
$55:  1.70-2.64 (+55%)

Cannabis Stock Explosion in Progress

Aphria, Inc. APHA – Options Recap

Our sole point of focus in terms of fresh options plays in yesterday morning’s premarket report, was a tight range of calls in the APHA chain on the heels of the company’s earning report- the APHA Weekly $10-11 Calls to be exact. Despite a down day for the markets at large, we saw this cannabis stock buck the trend on the strength of increased price targets relating to the company’s impending merger with Tilray, Inc. TLRY, another pot stock with which we’ve had some experience in the past.

The gains on our target contracts for the day yesterday were quite impressive as you’ll see below, but based on the premarket activity we’re observing this morning, we expect the following ranges and total possible gains to explode at the open today.  Read on to find the expanded set of targets that we’re going to formulate for APHA for today and into next week.

APHA Weekly $10-11 Calls
$10:
 .70-2.25 (+221%)
$10.50: .40-1.70 (+325%)
$11: .28-1.20 (+329%)

As we said above, we expect those figures to increase today, and going forward we’re going to add the APHA Weekly $13-14 Calls, and the APHA 01/22 $15 Calls into our pool of tracked contracts. We’ll also include the TLRY Weekly $21-22 Calls just for good measure.

We’re also going to include a wide range of OTC-traded cannabis penny stocks to track below, as the legislative environment is about to shift dramatically toward favorable conditions for federal reclassification, and the business opportunities it will provide should be like nothing we’ve seen to date.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options, Bottom Bouncer & More

Galectin Therapeutics, Inc. GALT

This morning we’re taking a look back at GALT, which we highlighted as a ripening play that we felt was worthy of observation last month.

Our suspicion that the chart had growth in store turned out to be correct. Since we put this play on our radar it has gone on to trade in a solid range from .935 to 1.29, which works out to an increase of 38%

We feel these gains are sustainable if GALT can manage to crack past the current 200DMA at 1.32. As you can see on the included snapshot, the chart continues to bear the look of potential for even further increases, so we’ll stay on the lookout for that.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. WFM

WFM is showing some nice volatility and positive price action despite a fairly uninteresting earnings release this week.

We like to follow the activity regardless, and today it’s leading us to focus on some WFM options. Rather than selecting weekly options that will expire this afternoon, we’ll go out to contracts that expire next Friday; the WFM 02/17 $30 & $30.50 Calls.

NantKwest, Inc. NK – Bottom-Bouncer

The NK chart gave off a pretty good bottom-bounce signal yesterday and the day before, so we’ll be interested in tracking the action in this play over the next several sessions on the chance that it can string together a multi-session uptrend.

From the chart below, it’s easy to see why we feel NK could be ripe for the picking. The RSI is increasing, while the MACD is a hair’s breath away from a bullish cross that generally indicates some significant move to the upside is in the stock’s near future. We’ll have our eyes peeled for that.
