Invesco Solar (ETF) TAN – Recap

On Thurday’s morning, we were getting strong bullish signals from the solar sector, and in order to stay on top of that trend we decided to track a set of options ideas in the TAN chain, with TAN being to the solar space what the SPY is to the markets as a whole.

Our targets were the TAN 10/16 $54-56 Calls and we saw some very nice activity from those plays on Friday.

TAN 10/16 $54-56 Calls
$54: 3.10-4.60 (+48%)
$55: 1.90-4.21 (+122%)
$56: 1.75-3.60 (+106%)
_____

We also had signaled the TCOM 10/16 $27-29 Calls for observation on Friday morning, and those saw some solid intraday gains.

TCOM 10/16 $27-29 Calls
$27: 2.62-3.47 (+32%)
$28: 1.88-2.81 (+49%)
$29: 1.18-2.06 (+75%)

All American Gold Corp. AAGC

We will also provide an update on AAGC which we mentioned on Wednesday morning. We observed a subsequent low of .0008 and to close out the week with a bang, the stock hit a new high of .0024.

This subpenny runner amounted to potential gains of up to 200% and was a good diversion from our typical big board options interests.

Todos Medical, Ltd. TOMDF

The see-saw of market volatility persists with no end in sight. Traditional investing has become a fool’s errand in many, if not most, cases. The kind of opportunistic short term trading that we do is relatively intact, with the right targets and scenarios.

In this case, we caught TOMDF’s coronavirus news in the premarket yesterday, stating that the company had secured distribution agreements for testing kits in both the US and Isreal. After including it in our extended watchlist, the stock managed a very nice intraday gain. It traded up from a low of  0413, and reached a high of .08, which works out to an intraday upswing of 94%

Coronavirus Watchlist

While we do focus primarily on quick strike opportunities, it’s also worth it to mention a few plays that represent products and services that are high demand at the present time due to the fallout from COVID-19. If the report from the UK’s highly respected Imperial College is accurate, this global health crisis is only in its beginning stages, and will get much, much worse in the months ahead.

While neither these, nor any other plays are “corona-proof”, the effects may weigh less heavily on these stocks and those like them:

Kate Spade & Co. KATE – Recap

We began tracking a set of options ideas for Kate Spade in Thursday morning’s premarket report, targeting the KATE Weekly $20 and $21 Calls in the wake of earnings, despite the retail market as a whole being a bit shaky of late. We observed them at lows of 1.41 and .65, respectively.

We then updated our readers as to the excellent gains made by those contracts on Friday, but the party wasn’t over yet. New highs were reached in both cases, with the $20 Calls shooting as high as 3.65 marking a two-session swing of 159% and the $21 Calls topping out at 2.37, a two-day rip of 264%

Unilever PLC (UL)

New for Friday’s morning report was our idea on Unilever following its own earning  report. We caught the stock exhibiting some bullish premarket activity, and came forward to highlight the UL Weekly $42.50-47.50 Calls for potential daytrades.

We were spot on in targeting that range of contracts, as they all provided ample opportunities for intraday profits, including a chance at a massive windfall with the $47.50’s:

$42.50 Calls – Range: 3.80-6.18 – Max Gain: 63%
$45 Calls – Range: 1.40-3.60 – Max Gain: 157%
$47.50 Calls – Range: .05-1.33 – Max Gain: 2560%

Other Updates From Friday

VNUE, Inc. VNUE – We tagged VNUE in Friday morning’s extended watchlist, and it ultimately ended up being our top pick of the day on the stock side of things.

Starting out from a low of .0015, this subpenny streaker broke out to a subsequent high of .0033, marking a 120% rip on roughly three times the monthly average volume. We’ll want to keep an eye skinned for the possibility of further action, as VNUE ended up closing at its high of day.
______

Franchise Holding International, Inc. FNHI – Also performing notably was FNHI, which made more modest, yet still solid intraday moves. It started out with an early pop from .017-.0269, a 58% uptick, before pulling back to .019 and returning to .025. That added a 32% gain to the daily cumulative total.

Petrogas Co. PTCO – Potential Bottom-Play

We’ve pointed out on the chart below why we think that PTCO could be primed for a bottom-bounce breakout at any minute. The stock is currently looking oversold, with the price rebounding off of a previous support area, over just the last two trading days.

We’re going to want to watch this one like a hawk, as the technical seem to indicate a major run could occur in the very near future.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. WMT – Options Update

Lastly, we want to rehash a longer-term options idea we formulated for WMT back on January 31st. We noticed the stock rebounding off recent lows at the time, and signaled the WMT 03/03 $68-$69.50 Calls. It has been almost nothing but bullish activity on the chart since then, and those ideas have panned out quite nicely.

$68 Calls
– Range: .86-2.29 – Max Gain: 166%
$68.50 Calls – Range: .57-2.02 – Max Gain: 254%
$69 Calls – Range: .48-1.80 – Max Gain: 275%
$69.50 Calls – Range: .41-1.42 – Max Gain: 246%

Additionally, WMT is gapping up hard this morning in premarket trading, so we want to stay laser focused on these ideas, as our observed ranges are almost certain to see increases as a result. In fact, the WMT PPS is so high at this point, we’ll be looking to roll up to the range of $72-73 Calls if the bonanza on the WMT chart continues.

Seagate Technologies plc. STX – Options Recap

Although it would end up reversing and heading lower as the day progressed, STX did ride the bullish wave off of its healthy earnings beat for a solid upswing inside the first hour of trading yesterday.

That did facilitate a window of opportunity on the options contracts we were tracking, the STX Weekly $41-43.50 Calls. Traders who were quick on the draw yesterday morning could have taken away a piece of the following moves:

$41 Calls – Range: 1.78-5.28 – Max Gain: 196%
$41.50 Calls – Range: 2.00-4.48 – Max Gain: 124%
$42 Calls – Range: 1.99-4.50 – Max Gain: 126%
$42.50 Calls – Range: 2.11-3.45 – Max Gain: 63%
$43 Calls – Range:  .86-3.00 – Max Gain: 249%
$43.50 Calls – Range: .78-2.77 – Max Gain: 255%

We did signal our hunch that there would be a reversal in-session and a corresponding idea for the Weekly $46 Puts in our live traders chat, and those ended up doing quite well also, subsequently running from .60-3.29 (+448%) as STX continued to consolidate into the close.

It’s another example of why we urge any of our readers that want to get in on our daily traders chats to get a Skype contact request over to username ‘stocksumo’. That’s all it takes, and you can stay up to the minute on changing ideas throughout the day, and submit some of your own!

Avinger, Inc. AVGR

The current situation with the AVGR chart has caught our eye this midweek as the stock reversed course this week after a steep and rapid decline. We’re seeing increased activity in the premarket and AVGR has pushed its way up regaining much of the ground it has recently lost.

Currently trading around the 3.00 mark, a return to its recent swing high from roughly a month ago would mean gains of up to 50% so we’ll be monitoring AVGR over coming sessions for a possible continuation of the recovery that is presently in effect.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MCIG Review & More

mCig, Inc. MCIG

The first thing we want to do to kick off the short trading week, is rehash the recent performance of MCIG. In our first report of the year, we were reminding our members of our ongoing interest in the cannabis sector and related fields, and gave a laundry list of plays that we wanted to track going forward from that point.

The following morning, we would observe a low of .1599 in MCIG, before it began a two week bullish run, and it hasn’t looked back since.

On Friday, MCIG attained a new three-year high of .38, where it also closed. That works out to an overall increase of 138% that we’ve witnessed with MCIG in the first two weeks of 2017. With the strong close, we’ll be sure to watch its activity closely as we head into the third.

Retractable Technologies, Inc. RVP

The next thing crossing our screens that we feel warrants some attention is the present situation with RVP. We took notice of a Form-4 filing last week, alluding to the purchase of a large block of shares by the CEO.  Thomas Shaw picked up two million shares at .89, just a penny above the stock’s four-year low of .88, which was recorded on Friday.

With listing standards stipulating the maintenance of a PPS of at least a dollar, and the added confidence engendered by an executive placing faith in his stock through purchase on the open market, we feel RVP has the makings of a prime bottom-play, and we’ll be very interested to track its progress in this regard.
