Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Roundup & More

Options Roundup

We produced three sets of options ideas in yesterday morning’s premarket report, and considering our recent track record with options plays, it should come as no surprise that we hit on some big gainers with all of them.

Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR

We’ve successfully come up with winning options ideas for PBR on so many occasions, we’ve lost count at this point. Our targeted contracts yesterday were the Weekly $5 and $5.50 Calls, and both sets recorded solid moves on the day.

For the $5’s we saw a nice run from .42-.77, an intraday swing of 83%, while the $5.50 Calls doubled that performance with a 166% pop from .12-.32.

We mentioned that the idea could serve for swing trades into today, and it appears as if PBR’s gap up will extend the gains we’ve seen thus far, especially considering that oil is presently at its highest price in months. In addition to staying on top of those 5.50’s, we’ll explore the possibility of rolling up our strike price to the 6.00-level. We’ll just need to see the stock hold support at its previous resistance point of 5.72 on any early pullbacks.

__________

United Parcel Service, Inc. UPS

The next idea we came up with was to take a look at UPS April 8th $104 Calls, which we found attractive for a number of reasons that we listed in our report, and those contracts put up a top-notch performance as well.

They started out from a low of .47 and would end up hitting a daily high of 1.50; gains of up to 219% were there for the taking.

__________

SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. SEAS

We were very interested in Seaworld’s PR concerning the halting of the Killer Whale breeding programs and theater show phase-out yesterday(>>View PR). The announcement was received well by the investing community, as well as the company seeing goodwill on social media for doing the right thing- at one point on Twitter, #Seaworld was trending in the Top 3 for the US in the wake of the news.

We set our sights on SEAS April 15th $18 Calls, and were met with an excellent intraday gain opportunity as they ran 150% from .40-1.00.

Sparta Commercial Services, Inc. SRCO

We also want to give ourselves a pat on the back for SRCO, which we included in yesterday’s extended watchlist. The stock made a respectable intraday move for us, to the tune of 60% as it traded in a range from .003-.0048 on roughly six times the 3-month average volume.

Bank of America Corp. BAC – Fresh Options Idea

BAC is currently gapping up in the premarket on news that the company will be increasing the scope of their share buyback program, and we’re going to signal a set of options contracts for observation to correspond with that. We’re going to be taking a look at BAC Weekly $13.50 Calls for a possible daytrade*.

*Don’t forget, trading weekly options contracts on a Friday is a very risky proposition, and is recommended for seasoned traders only.

Fresh Options Ideas

We’ve formulated a few new angles of approach with respect to options ideas that we’re going to share this morning, each with its own specific reason for appearing attractive at the present time.

United Parcel Service, Inc. UPS

We’re going to be taking a look at a range of medium-term UPS contracts, namely the April 8th $104 Calls, which we feel have a good chance at performing well in coming weeks on account of a number of factors.

The shipping sector as a whole is currently doing well due to boosted online sales, as top competitor FedEx’s reported earnings yesterday certainly reflected. We also like the look of the UPS chart from a technical perspective, as the following annotations demonstrate:

We also learned this week that the company is going to be increasing the size of its CNG (compressed natural gas) powered fleet, including an infrastructure build-out of several new CNG stations to support it. (>> VIEW PR)

SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. SEAS

We also are going to be monitoring a range of Seaworld options, once again due to a fresh news release, as well as an attractive chart setup. As you can see on the provided snapshot, SEAS is showing a multiple bottom formation, and if it can continue to rebound off of its recent relative lows, appears to have a shot at a nice rebound over the next few weeks if history is any indicator.

We’re going to be watching the SEAS April 15th $18 Calls, which last traded at .16. If SEAS can rebound to the upper $19 range by that expiration date, the gains on these contracts could realistically approach ten-bagger territory.

SeaWorld, which has been under fire for years over their Killer Whale shows, has just announced that it will immediately cease its orca breeding programs, beginning a phase-out of the theatrical dog-and-pony-style performances and shift toward more natural displays. (>>View PR)

Options Updates

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR

Yesterday morning, we let our readers know we expected more gains out of the PBR options we posted for tracking on Tuesday (PBR 04/01 $4 Calls), and we also provided a couple of weekly contracts to watch as well ($4’s and 4.50’s). As the stock continued its impressive rise, all of those ideas proved to be top-notch.

The 04/01 $4 Calls pushed their upper limit to a high of .89, which from our observed low of .13, marked a three-day swing of 585% as PBR traded up from 3.55 to 4.86.

The $4 and 4.50 Weekly Calls. also enjoyed big surges as well, as the $4’s traded in a range from .19-.80 (+321%), and the $4.50’s absolutely blew their lids, running from .02-.36; an incredible single-session run of 1700%

With PBR having gapped up to reach a high of 5.50 in the premarket this morning, we expect the values on all contracts mentioned to open up considerably higher once again, extending the total gains we’ve seen in the latter half of this week. We’ll also be monitoring $4.50-5.50 Calls today, doing so with extreme caution, which must be exercised by anyone attempting to trade weekly contracts on Friday.

___

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF

We also continued our coverage of the ANF Weekly $29-32 Calls in yesterday’s morning report, and the majority of those provided noteworthy intraday opportunities, despite having just delivered gains ranging from 200-386% during the previous session.

The single-session increases on some of those contracts managed to shoot even higher than they did on Wednesday!

$29 Calls – Trading Range: .96-2.20  – Max Gain: 129%
$29.50 Calls – Trading Range: .50-1.73 – Max Gain: 246%
$30 Calls – Trading Range: .30-1.32 – Max Gain: 340%
$30.50 Calls – Trading Range:   .26-.82 – Max Gain: 215%
$31 Calls – Trading Range: .08-.45 – Max Gain: 463%

Rejuvel Bio-Sciences, Inc. NUUU

The options plays weren’t the only calls from yesterday morning’s premarket report to post serious intraday moves on the day. We’ve been tracking NUUU for a couple of weeks now, and the decision to include it in our watchlist yesterday was a great one.

After dipping to a daily low of .0026, the stock enjoyed a healthy surge to a .0065 high-of-day, representing a move of 150% Cheers to those of our readers who were able to catch that timely alert!

Options Updates

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF

We had very good fortune with most of the ANF options contracts we signaled in yesterday morning’s premarket report following an earnings beat. We were after intraday trade possibilities in the ANF Weekly $29-32 Calls, and with the exception of the $32’s which weren’t pushed into the money, gains of over 200% were available across the board.

$29.50 Calls – Trading Range: .29-1.10 – Max Gain: 279%

$31 Calls – Trading Range: .07-.34 – Max Gain: 386%

$32 Calls – Trading Range: .05-.11 – Max Gain: 120%

_____

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR

We also want to give a quick update on another extended-term idea we had recently. On Tuesday, we submitted PBR 04/01 $4 Calls for observation, and those have made a run from .13-.25 (+92%) as PBR has traded up from 3.55 to 4.13.

We expect the figures on those gains to keep rising today as PBR has advanced as high as 4.39 thus far in the premarket. We’ll be sure to stay on the trail of those contracts, with nearly a month left on the contracts before expiration. We’ll also keep an eye on the $4 and 4.50 Weekly Calls. Of course, we’ll look to roll our strike prices up if the situation dictates.

Aeterna Zentaris, Inc. AEZS

AEZS is a familiar play that we’d like to touch base with again this morning after noticing some interesting chart activity. The stock broke its 50DMA during yesterday’s trading session and is presently trending up in the premarket, testing resistance in the $4-area. The next area of resistance comes in at 5.18, where a gap on the chart begins, and extends up to the 6.50 level.

We’ve prepared a snapshot below which outlines the highlights of the current AEZS chart.

EffTec International, Inc. EFFI

EFFI is another recent mention we’d like to update our readers on this morning. After signaling EFFI in our watchlist on Friday, the stock has gone on to make a solid move. We observed a low of .0024 followed by a high of .0049, which works out to a 104% swing.

Recent Winner Roundup

We’ll kick things off this morning by highlighting a few of our recently tracked plays that came by solid moves to the upside start the week off yesterday. In each case, we’ll be on the lookout for possible continued momentum on the heels of yesterday’s strong showings.

USA Restaurant Funding, Inc. USAR

We were following USAR beginning on Wednesday of last week, and would observe a low of .0067 on that day. It has been off to the races in the four sessions since, as USAR streaked to a high of .0148 during yesterday’s session. That’s a hefty rise of 121%

SpectraSCIENCE, Inc. SCIE

SCIE was another of our interests from last Wednesday’s report, and it too has performed superbly in ensuing sessions. The total gain on this stock has also gone into double-bagger territory as it rose from Wednesday’s low of .001 to a new high of .0021 yesterday; a 110% jump.

Service Team, Inc. SVTE

In the case of SVTE,  we followed this play over a huge two-session rip on (February 9-10th) as the PPS shot from .0039 to .0188. (+382%). We then observed a consolidation that eventually resulted in a low of .0049 on Friday. Yesterday’s high came in at .011: a two-session swing of 124%

Blue Earth, Inc. BBLU – Bottom Watch Play

We’re quite intrigued by the massive selloff undergone by BBLU between Friday and Monday without so much as a fluff PR, or negative filing to explain the dramatic losses. The stock is now trading at all-time lows, and as our regular readers are surely aware, this is exactly the type of situation for which we’re constantly scanning.

We’ll go ahead and reserve a slot on our radar screens for BBLU with an extended bottom-watch designation. It’s far better to show up to the party early and be ready to strike immediately upon the slightest hint of a rebound, than to wait until it has occurred, and more opportunistic traders have already reaped most of the rewards.

Bonus: Options Ideas

Finally, we’ve got some longer-term options ideas relating to stocks we’ve been very familiar with in the past, that are now beginning to show signs of recovery off of recent bottoms. We’re going to signal  PBR 04/01 $4 Calls and WTW 04/01 $13 Calls  and keep them on a close watch in sessions to come.
