Blue Horseshoe Stocks: WATT Recap & More

Energous Corp. WATT

On our premarket watchlists for both Wednesday and yesterday morning, has been WATT, which received some exciting news this week.

The company revealed that the FCC has granted consumer safety certification for its wireless charging technology, marking the first FCC approval for remote wireless charging, and opening the door to commercialization.

Its applications are plentiful, and the potential is high, and it’s showing on the chart. On Wednesday morning following our alert, the stock was trading for as little as 15.30, and at its high of day yesterday, the stock had reached 33.50. That represented a two-session swing of 119% as it set new all-time highs for volume two days in a row.

We will be very interested to continue tracking the story behind this huge turn of events for WATT.

Helios and Matheson Analytics, Inc. HMNY

We also would like to recap HMNY’s performance yesterday. We tagged this one as a bottom play and ended up timing the bounce with absolute precision.

The stock had been in an overall downtrend since the end of November, and yesterday, began what could be just the start of a more sustained recovery.

HMNY traded up from a low of 5.45 and went on to reach a high of 6.98, for a modest but respectable increase of 28% on the day. It happened on roughly three times the monthly average volume, and closed near the high of day, so we’ll definitely be on the lookout for momentum carryover.

INSYS Therapeutics, Inc. INSY

Just a quick reminder about the options idea we had for INSY recently. We already reported the solid gains we’ve witnessed in the INSY 01/19 $8 and $9 Calls on Wednesday morning, but given the current conditions on the chart, we’ll want to keep an eye peeled for further bullish activity in those contracts.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MSDI Recap, PEP Options & More

Monster Digital, Inc. MSDI

We re-tagged MSDI for observation in yesterday morning’s premarket watchlist, and the stock ended up making a pretty good jump right out of the starting gate on a surge of huge volume to new new highs. This is a play that we first mentioned a few weeks back on June 19th, when it was trading in the .40-.50 range.

Yesterday it initially ran from 1.53 to its new high of 2.35 for an intraday swing of 54% though it didn’t manage to hold much of its advance into the close. Still, when all was said and done, MSDI ended up being the NASDAQ’s top gainer of the day, traded nearly sixty times its monthly average volume, and extended our total observed range since our first alert to a very respectable 408%

Pepsico, Inc. PEP – Options Ideas

Pepsi has been on a bit of a downturn of late, and despite its bearish moves of the past couple of weeks, we took notice of the fact that it has come down to rest around its 50-day moving average. The last time the stock spent any appreciable amount of time trading below that average, was more than four months ago.

Compound that with a chance for a boost from its scheduled quarterly earnings call next week (07/11), and it makes us interested to track some PEP options on the chance that the stock makes a rebound as we suspect it might.

We’ll take a look at the PEP Weekly $115 Calls for potential day/swing trades this week, and keep tabs on the PEP 07/14 $116 and $117 Calls in the event of a run into and/or following earnings this coming Tuesday.

Tesla Motors Corp. TSLA – Options Update

Our bearish sentiment on TSLA yesterday ended up working in our favor quite well, as the intraday volatility provided traders with not one but three chances to execute lucrative swing trades.  Our specified target range was the TSLA Weekly $200-195 Puts; those three opportunities on the day extended to all three sets of contracts, and were as follows:

$200 Puts – 4.45-8.45 (+55%), 4.15-7.50 (+81%), 4.36-6.35 (+46%)

$197.50 Puts – 4.06-6.35 (+56%), 2.83-5.39 (+90%), 2.83-4.51 (+59%)

$195 Puts – 2.44-5.13 (+110%),1.87-3.81 (+104%), 1.70-2.89 (+70%)

Amid the bombshell that Britain passed a referendum effecting its exit from the European Union (at least a two year process), world markets in general are all feeling the strain at present. TSLA has hit a low of $186 in the premarket, so our observed contracts all stand to produce further gains this morning.

To get ourselves a little closer to the heaviest action in the event of a continued backslide for TSLA, we may consider rolling down our strike range to include the $192.50 and $190 Puts as well.

FRESH OPTIONS IDEAS:

As we’ve done many times before when attempting to use overall market conditions to our advantage, we’re going to be tracking some SPY Calls for potential daytrades. As long as the SPY can hold above $200, we could be in line to see some major volatility in the SPY Weekly $200-205 Calls. As always, we must issue a strong note of caution with regard to trading weekly contracts on a Friday. It should only ever be attempted by advanced-level traders!

We also want to submit another familiar face for a potential play with much less urgency. For a longer-term idea, we’ll be putting the PBR 07/15 $6.50 and $7 Calls on our radar.

Gold Watchlist:

We also want to provide our readers with a smattering of gold-related stocks to watch this morning. Currencies are taking a big hit, which usually means an influx of investor confidence in precious metals. As such, we will naturally look to plays like these for quick-hit opportunities:

LODE, PGLC, VGZ, XRA,TRX, GORO

Extended Watchlist:
PXYN, NHMD, DLCR, EMES, ENDV(Bottom bouncer)
