Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review & More

ProShares Short VIX Short-Term Futures ETF (SVXY) – Recap

We had some positive jobs numbers which posted on Friday, and to go along with the direction of the market activity we were observing, we highlighted a range of weekly options contracts in the SVXY ETF.

Our targets were the SVXY Weekly $152-154 Calls and we did see some pretty good movement from plays in that range, which made appreciable moves on the day. Those total possible gains were as follows:

$152 Calls – Range: 2.34-3.91 – Max Gain: 67%
$153 Calls – Range: 1.86-3.54 – Max Gain: 90%
$153.50 Calls – Range: 1.61-2.28 – Max Gain: 42%
$154 Calls – Range:1.15-2.71 – Max Gain: 136%

ShiftPixy, Inc. PIXY

The Friday before last, we signaled newly-IPO’d PIXY for observation on its first trading day ever, and it also performed admirably during last week’s short trading week.

After starting at a price of 6.30 on Friday (06/30), PIXY began to run, and this past Friday it hit a high of 10.50. That’s a solid 66% upswing, which is quite impressive for a first week of trading.

This morning, we’ve seen our observed range on PIXY increase even further to 78% with the stock managing a premarket high of 11.20.

We’ll be anxious to pick up where we left off and continue to track this new stock as we head into a new trading week. Each new high it sets is a new all-time high, so there’s no telling where this ride will let off. As we mentioned last week, we’ll just continue to monitor the stock, looking for higher base levels of support to be established as we go forward.

Inpixion INPX

We’re always looking for a good bottom play, and we have one with some potential in INPX, which tumbled last week after the company announced a hefty $6M public offering.

The offering was priced at 1.05/share and the stock is currently trading in the high-.60’s. We feel a return to at least the offering price would not be implausible.

Stocks coming off of recently-established 52-week lows have historically been good to us, so we want to place INPX on watch for a potential recovery.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GEO Options on a Roll & More

The GEO Group, Inc. – Options Review

GEO has earned itself top billing in our report for the second day running, as the stock continued its rebound yesterday, reaching new highs, and pushing our options ideas deeper into the money. Despite multi-bag gains on Friday, we reasserted our interest in continuing to follow them, and it was definitely the right move.

The GEO 09/16 $20 and 22.50 Calls were the targets we introduced on Friday morning, and our observed gains were extended by a healthy margin yesterday as GEO rose to a high of $25 even during the session.

The $20 Calls traded in a range from 4.00 up to 5.12, an intraday swing of 28% and an total two-day increase over our observed low of 1.61 amounting to 211%

The $22.50 Calls traded up from 2.25 to 3.05 running 36% intraday, and representing an overall increase of 251% from Friday’s low of .87.

As we stated yesterday, these ideas should remain good for as long as GEO sustains this strong rebound pattern.

Best Buy Co. Inc. BBY – Fresh Idea

BBY is flying high in the premarket this morning in the wake of its earnings release which contained a major increase in same-store sales for the quarter.

With the type of activity we’re witnessing early on this morning, we’re going to want to signal a range of options calls to observe here as well. Our specific contracts of interest are going to be the BBY Weekly 36.50-39 Calls, which will hold our interest provided that BBY maintains support in the low $36-range on any pullbacks.

First Acceptance Corp. FAC – Bottom-Watch

We’re going to take this opportunity to declare a bottom-watch for FAC, which is currently feeling out its lowest prices in a month after peeling back off of a massive run in late July.

On the chart below, we’ve highlighted the channel between recent swing lows at 1.01 and 1.15 as the area where we’d like to see a bottom-bounce occur, and we’ll have FAC on our radars in the days ahead for the possibility of that occurring.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CYBR, MCP, MEIP & More

CyberArk Software, Ltd. CYBR

Our first experiences with CYBR were good ones, when we successfully called a couple of potentially lucrative options trades around the middle of last month. It was in our report from February 13ththat we targeted CYBR $50 and $55 Calls, and that day we saw moves in those contracts of 72% and 165% respectively.
We flagged CYBR once again yesterday, which had previously been under several weeks of consolidation, yet was gapping up in the premarket. The stock did well in reversing its path, trading in a range from 50.79-55.03, and holding the majority of those gains into the close.

Our current options idea is going to be the 04/17 $50 Calls (Closed at 6.60 yesterday). Should CYBR reach its way back to the $60-level anytime in the next few weeks, the gains we see in those contracts will be quite substantial.

Molycorp, Inc. MCP

MCP appeared in yesterday’s extended watchlist and demonstrated a reversal of its own. We’re going to place MCP on more intensive watch as the week progresses, as it has the markings of a potential bottom play.

We’ve illustrated some of the key characteristics of the chart below, which appears to be gearing up for what could be a big swing. The stock ran well over a dollar at the beginning of last month, so the potential for rapid gains has certainly been demonstrated.

MEI Pharma, Inc. MEIP

We’ve also got an eye on MEIP after the stock was crushed down to a 52-week low yesterday, following the company’s announcement of the failure of its cancer drug in middle-stage testing.

A single-session depreciation on the order of 70% is the hallmark of one heck of a knee-jerk reaction, and the stock appears to be gapping up slightly this morning, so we’ll be on the lookout for a recovery in MEIP shares in coming days.
