Coping With Tough Conditions, Trio of Fresh Ideas

Tuesday’s Movers:

While we didn’t exactly have a landmark session yesterday, we did manage to eke out a couple of solid options trading plays despite the harsh environment we’re experiencing at the present time. Nobody’s ever going to be perfect in their assessments, and we have been contending with a tumultuous time for stocks in general. That being said, we never get discouraged, and always keep our noses to the grindstone!

Yesterday’s fruitful targets were the NVDA Weekly $136-138 Calls, and the GTLB 09/16 $50 Calls, the potential gains of which we have listed below. As for how we’ll get along for the remainder of this short week, things are looking up today with a much more substantial slate of names on the earnings calendar.

Trans Global Group Inc. TGGI – OTC Recap:

We also want to give a brief update the recent run that TGGI has put together. We have been tracking this stock via our daily extended watchlists fairly closely through August and into this month, and subsequent to our alert on the 12th, we would witness a low of .0078. After hitting .0175 that works out to a run of 124%

Friday’s Big Winners, Fresh Ideas & More

Solid Options Runners:

To close things out for the short week on Friday, we had a pair of quick-strike options ideas in the LULU and OKTA chains, as well as a longer term target for ASAN in our premarket report. Despite a rather subdued session for the markets in general wherein we saw a gap-down in the morning, and not much progress toward a recovery throughout the day, we were still able to manage some very nice gain chances.

Our specific areas of interest for the day were the LULU Weekly $300-307.50 Calls, the OKTA Weekly $106-108 Calls, and the ASAN 06/17 $22.50 Puts. Both sets of calls produced multi-bag profit possibilities on the day, with ASAN not lagging far behind. We’ve also got a week and change before they expire, so we’ll continue to monitor those as well. As for Friday’s moves, here’s what these ideas put forth for the session:

LULU Weekly $300-307.50 Calls
$300:
 2.55-7.35 (+188%)
$302.50: 2.00-5.60 (+180%)
$305: 1.41-4.50 (+219%)
$307.50: .94-3.40 (+262%)
_____

OKTA Weekly $106-108 Calls
$106: 1.16-2.87 (+147%)
$107: .84-2.05 (+144%)
$108: .48-1.39 (+190%)
_____

ASAN 06/17 $22.50 Puts
$22.50: 1.82-2.90 (+59%)

Fresh Options Ideas:

We are heading into an extended dry spell with regard to the number of big name companies dropping their earnings reports, which is going to persist for the next several weeks. We’re used to traversing these periodic ‘earnings deserts’, and as always, we’ll still be working hard every day to find the best opportunities possible, which for us, generally includes a heavy reliance on the SPY- our favorite market analog.

SPY 06/06 $413-415 Calls
FUTU Weekly $38.50-40 Calls
QDEL 07/15 $85-95 Calls

Extended Watchlist:
ZNOG, AERG, BDCO, QEDN, SHMP, IGEX, ABQQ, PRCX, DIDI, YMTX, MULN, CRIS, QNRX, ARRY, BZ, YMM

Playing the SPY Like a Fiddle, Fresh Ideas

SPY Calls Surge on Market Pop:

We had just some daily SPY Calls and a longer term idea in yesterday morning’s premarket report, the latter of which isn’t really primed for an immediate update, but we most certainly came down on the right side of the fence with the SPY. The markets ripped all day long, and provided us with the catalyst for some really nice intraday gain opportunities.

We were tracking the SPY 05/23 $391-393 Calls, and all three of the contract sets contained within recorded huge multibag runs for us. The total possible daily gains were as follows:

SPY 05/23 $391-393 Calls
$391:
 2.04-6.82 (+234%)
$392: 1.58-5.81 (+268%)
$393: 1.19-5.05 (+324%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
NTES Weekly $98-100 Calls
WOOF Weekly $15-16 Calls
ZM Weekly $91.50-93 Calls

Watchlist Runners:

We saw some solid movement out of some of the plays off of yesterday morning’s extended watchlist. CBIO ran following the announcement of a $60M asset sale to Vertex, while GOVX was another stock boosted by the rising concerns over monkeypox, which has officially made its way to the US, and seems to a hot-button catalyst for related plays at the moment. .
