Big Options Runners, Trio of Fresh Plays

A Clean Sweep on Options Plays:

We finally got the lead out yesterday, with some options trading ideas that were reliant upon the markets posting a solid session. Fortunately, the chips fell in the desired direction, and led to some very respectable intraday gain chances for ourselves, and anyone who caught our premarket report for the day.

On the menu for Wednesday were the SPY 12/21 $381-383 Calls, the NKE Weekly $113-115 Calls, and the FDX Weekly $170-175 Calls. Here was the breakdown of the intraday moves and total possible gains that were there for the taking:

Blue Apron Holdings Inc. APRN:

As tax loss season is winding down, we want to put APRN on our readers’ radars as a potential bottom bouncer to swing trade into the new year. The stock has just started to rebound off of its 52-week lows and established a higher high yesterday. We’ll be watching this potential value play over the days and weeks ahead.

Muted Start to the Week, Fresh Ideas

Monday’s Options Recap:

The markets got off to a rough start yesterday, and that did negatively impact the scope of our options success with the plays we were monitoring, especially considering they were targets January expirations. We may yet see those rise to the occasion, but for now, our one quick-strike idea from yesterday’s premarket report did make a significant intraday move.

The SPY typically provides a lot of good intraday volatility for us, and is quite often good for solid intraday gains when timed properly. Our actual targets for yesterday were the SPY 12/19 $383-384 Calls, and these were the largest intraday swings we witnessed:

SPY 12/19 $383-384 Calls
$383:
 .65-1.45 (+123%)
$384: .38-.90 (+137%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
GIS 01/20 $85-80 Puts
PLAY 01/20 $35-36 Calls
HEI 01/20 $150 Calls

OTC Recaps:

We had another couple of plays that performed well off of yesterday’s extended watchlist. Especially on slow days for options, monitoring these daily selections of mainly OTC stocks has often proved to be a good alternative use of our time.

SMAR Options Review, Fresh Ideas

Smartsheet, Inc. SMAR – Options Review:

First off, we’d just like to apologize for the lack of a premarket report on Friday. An untimely power outage prevented us from getting anything out to readers in time for the market open. In the past dozen years, we have missed maybe five trading days, if that, so it’s not something one should expect to see repeated anytime soon.

In the meantime, we did see some new highs in the SMAR 12/16 $35-40 Calls prior to their expiration at week’s end, which we wanted to report back on today before kicking off a fresh trading week. We have been tracking these calls since December 2nd, and here are the figures and total possible profits we witnessed over that span of roughly two weeks:

SMAR 12/16 $35-40 Calls
$35: 1.55-7.50 (+384%)
$40: .34-2.65 (+679%)

SHOP 01/06 $36.50-37.50 Calls
AAPL 01/06 $139-141 Calls

OTC Recaps:

We’ve also got a couple of quick updates on the recent performance of a couple of the OTC plays we’ve tagged in our extended watchlists. When we left off on Thursday, we had been tracking both of these stocks for a week.

Yesterday’s Options Movers, Fresh Plays & More

Yesterday’s Options Results:

Our perfect streak had to come to an end sooner or later, with one of our ideas from yesterday’s premarket report failing to produce instant opportunities. We didn’t see an immediate push from the August YETI Calls we signaled, but there is, of course, plenty of time before expiration for us to get the activity we’re looking for from them.

In the meantime, our other three selections proved to be solid ideas for the day, and three out of four is nothing to sneeze at! Those plays that yielded gratification were the WBA Weekly $38.50-39.50 Calls, the DCT 07/15 $17.50-15 Puts and the SGH 07/15 $17.50 Calls, and here were the total possible profits which could have been reaped from those targets:

WBA Weekly $38.50-39.50 Calls
$38.50:
 .52-1.13 (+117%)
$39: .45-.84 (+87%)
$39.50: .35-.59 (+69%)
_____

DCT 07/15 $17.50-15 Puts
$17.50:
2.45-4.00 (+63%)
$15: .70-2.25 (+221%)
_____

SGH 07/15 $17.50 Calls

$17.50: .15-.55 (+267%)

Fresh Options Idea
MU Weekly $53.50-52 Puts
NFLX 07/22 $185-190 Calls

haring Economy International Inc. SEII – OTC Recap:

Yesterday morning we noticed that SEII had been pressing upward on a considerable run, and included it in our extended watchlist. The stock continued its impressive push, trading in a range from .106 up to .142. The momentum built up in this stock is considerable, and we’ll certainly be watching for a continuation of same in the sessions to come on the other side of the long weekend.

DECN Recap & More

Decision Diagnostics, Corp. DECN

We began tracking DECN just under three weeks ago, back on the morning of March 19th. The stock caught our attention after announcing that it was working on a rapid-result COVID-19 test. Subsequent to that point in time, it was trading for as little as .056/share.

Yesterday, following another tag in our extended watchlist, and as an update on the company’s coronavirus test was provided (excerpt and link below), the stock reached some very impressive new highs. It’s not the first coronavirus related play we’ve scored on, and it won’t be the last.

DECN ran 216% intraday from .125 to a new high of .395. From our initially observed low from the week before last, the stock has now exhibited an upswing of 605%

Decision Diagnostics Corp. Johnson & Johnson JNJ – Recap

After seeing success with a number of different targets within the JNJ chain over the past week and change, we rolled our potential strike prices up to the JNJ Weekly $140-142 Calls yesterday morning.

Being one of the lead candidates for potentially developing an effective COVID-19 vaccine, it puts JNJ in a somewhat unique position, as experts have repeatedly stated that the world cannot begin to fully recover until a viable vaccine is being widely administered sometime next year.

Our move to the $140-142 Calls proved prudent yesterday, as early activity provided the following intraday opportunities:

JNJ Weekly $140-142 Calls
$140: .89-2.88 (+224%)
$141: .62-2.31 (+273%)
$142: .43-1.67 (+288%)
