Blue Horseshoe Stocks: JCP Options Recap & More

JC Penney Co. Inc. JCP – Options Update

On Friday morning, we offered up a fresh options trading idea for JCP to track in the wake of an earnings beat for the retailer. The specific targets we selected were the JCP 08/19 $9.50-10.50 Calls and after the excellent intraday move from JCP itself (9.70-10.72) each of those sets of contracts yielded the chance at some big-time single-session gains.

The total possible profits for on the day for each were as follows:

$9.50 Calls – Range:  .44-1.16 – Max Gain: 164%
$10 Calls – Range: .16-.79 – Max Gain: 394%
$10.50 Calls – Range: 1.23-2.61 – Max Gain: 640%

With the expiration on these contracts set for Friday, we’ll have the remainder of the week to continue observing these plays if the activity in JCP stock allows.

El Capitan Precious Metals, Inc. ECPN

We also want to provide an update on the performance of another idea we submitted to our readers last week,. We tagged ECPN for observation in Wednesday morning’s premarket report, and the stock spent the next three sessions trending up.

The low we witnessed on Wednesday came in at .1222 and that eventually gave rise to a new high of .1989 on Friday afternoon, marking a solid three-day swing of 63%  It also managed to close quite near its high-of-day, so we’ll be interested to continue following its progress as we kick off a new trading week.

It’s also worth it to mention that at present, ECPN is receiving a rare 100% ‘Buy’ Rating across the board for short, medium, and long term over at BARCHART.COM.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BAC Options Recap & More

Bank of America Corp. BAC – Fresh Options Idea

We went bullish on BAC yesterday, confident that a rebound after Brexit-related losses could propel a set of options contracts to some sizable intraday gains. We were right on in our assessment, and after both an early morning rip, followed by a pullback and run-up into the close, were presented with multiple quick-strike opportunities.

Each of the two sets of calls we signaled, the BAC Weekly $12.50 and $13 Calls, ultimately provided us with two solid chances each:

$12.50 Calls – 1st Run: .22-.32 (+45%) – 2nd Run: .20-.37 (+85%)
$13 Calls – 1st Run: .08-11 (+37%) – 2nd Run: .05-.12 (+140%)

BAC is gapping up once again [currently trading in the 12.90-range] in the premarket, so it would appear our observed contracts are in line for a chance at another productive session. To reiterate our statement from yesterday’s report,  if BAC looks as if it will breach the 13.50-mark, we’ll be looking to roll up our strike price to that level.

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options Recap

We recently signaled some longer-term calls in the PBR options chain, and just wanted to take an opportunity to update our readers on the potential gains that have been made possible there.

This past Friday, we signaled the PBR 07/15 $6.50 and $7 Calls  and have been pleased with the subsequent activity. Monday’s dip provided an excellent buy opportunity as the $6.50’s traded as low as .30 and the $7’s traded as low as .15. Yesterday, we observed the $6.50’s close at .50, and the $7’s close at .27. That worked out to intraweek gain opportunities of 66% and 80%, respectively.

We’ll want to keep these on our radar, with two weeks yet remaining until their expiration date.

Fresh Options Ideas:

We’re already options-heavy this morning, so we figured why not formulate a couple more ideas to add to our pool of interests:

The Markets are gapping up big again today, and if today’s activity is at all like yesterday’s dip-and-rip scenario, we will want to pay close attention to the SPY Weekly $204-206 Calls. We’ll also be tracking the NKE Weekly $52-54 Calls on the heels of Nike’s post-market earnings beat yesterday.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review, Fresh Ideas & More

Wynn Resorts Ltd. WYNN – Options Review

It was the wide range of options contracts we highlighted in the WYNN chain that stole the show among our interests from yesterday morning’s premarket report.  We signaled the WYNN Weekly $93-96.50 Calls for observation, and not surprisingly, saw appreciable intraday gains from every single one of them.

Just take a look at the excellent single-session profits that were on the table for traders who fell in step with our idea. There was literally no way to go wrong with these selections, but at the top end of the range, the $96.50’s were obviously the star of the show with a nearly incomprehensible intraday move of more than 2700%!

$93 Calls – Trading Range: 2.98-7.68 – Max Gain: 158%
$93.50 Calls – Trading Range: 3.61-7.15 – Max Gain: 98%
$94 Calls– Trading Range: 2.53-6.20 – Max Gain: 145%
$94.50 Calls – Trading Range: 3.71-6.08 – Max Gain: 64%
$95 Calls – Trading Range: 2.40-5.62 – Max Gain: 134%
$95.50 Calls– Trading Range: 2.43-5.00 – Max Gain: 106%
$96 Calls – Trading Range: 1.47-5.00 – Max Gain: 240%
$96.50 Calls– Trading Range: .15-4.30 – Max Gain: 2766%

The stock is gapping up again this morning, so we expect the figures on these gains to be pushed even higher upon commencement of trading at the opening bell. We’ll also look for opportunities at a higher strike range with the $100-103 Calls as well.

Fresh Options Ideas

We’ve formulated a number of other options trading ideas to close out the week, but please heed our standard warning regarding Friday trading of weekly contracts- Only expert traders should attempt such a high-difficulty and risky venture. Both of the following are options chains from which we’ve pulled down mammoth gains on countless occasions in the past:

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – For the SPY, which of course is a general market analog, we’re going to be monitoring Weekly $205-207 Calls with both the general markets and oil gapping up this morning.

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – For PBR we’re zeroing in on the Weekly $5-6 Calls. PBR has made notable intraday upswings on more than one occasion this week, and a continuation of that pattern could lead to some nice gain figures for these contracts.
