Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Winning NFLX Calls & More

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – Update

We had just come off of an excellent post-earnings options idea on Hasbro leading into yesterday’s session, and to keep the train rolling, we offered up an another options idea to go along with NFLX’s own earnings beat.

We’ve said it a hundred times and will probably say it a hundred more- quarterly earnings provide a fantastic method of using big board stocks to leverage huge short-term profits out of their options chains, and NFLX is illustrating that point to a tee.

We signaled our interest in the NFLX Weekly $117-120 Calls, and of course, they all made notable moves to the upside on the session:

$117 Calls – Range: 2.12-3.27 – Max Gain: 54%
$118 Calls – Range: 1.66-3.20 – Max Gain: 93%
$119 Calls – Range: 1.34-2.65 – Max Gain: 98%
$120 Calls – Range: 1.13-1.75 – Max Gain: 55%

Cannabis Science, Inc. CBIS – Update

We cautioned readers in yesterday’s report that the activity on marijuana related stocks has been ramping up, and in lieu of a traditional extended watchlist for the day, we posted a list of over a dozen to keep an eye on, and nearly all of them ended the day in the green.

One of the most solid plays out of the list was CBIS, which ran a healthy 44% from .034 to .0489, and did so on volume exceeding the monthly average roughly seven-fold. After that initial run, the stock pulled back before surging again toward the end of the day, and posting a strong close at .0475.

We’ll look to keep monitoring the situation in not only CBIS, but the marijuana space as a whole. We’re confident enough in the present landscape to assert that the opportunities are most assuredly not going to end here. As we’ve stated multiple times now, recreational legalization in California (the world’s 6th-largest economy) is just weeks away. It figures to reinvigorate investor interest in pot stocks even more than we’ve seen to this point, as well as representing the toppling of a major domino in what we feel will ultimately be a chain-reaction leading to nationwide legalization.

According to the LA Times poll, roughly 60% of California voters plan on voting yes on Prop 64, which would mean that by this time next month, the entire West Coast from Canada to Mexico will be a prohibition-free zone.

Added Note: We also want to add ICBU to our marijuana watchlist; a stock that we haven’t mentioned in the past, on the heels of an interesting PR. (>>View PR)

Banc of California  BANC

Speaking of California, BANC stock has fallen off a cliff on immaterial news of a pending fraud investigation. We always look for knee-jerk selloffs like these, and in this case it actually happens to be coinciding with an earnings beat. That’s why we’re interested in signaling both the stock and some options ideas for this one.

We’ll be tracking the BANC Weekly $12.50 and $15 Calls for a short-term idea, and for an extended-term idea, the BANC 11/18 $17.50 and $20 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Thursday’s Winning Calls & More

Notis Global, Inc. NGBL

NGBL is one of a handful of plays that we’ve been tracking this week to record yet another solid session yesterday. On Wednesday, brought the stock to our readers, while it was still trading in the super-subpenny range at a low of .0009.

The stock showed us a nice intraday run that day, and yesterday, registered another solid intraday upswing which carried it from .001-.0015 , a 50% move. As we stated yesterday, we’ll stay interested in NGBL as long as it continues to hold support above the previous session’s swing low as it did yesterday.

Oroplata Resources, Inc. ORRP

ORRP appeared in our premarket report on Monday, and on that morning we witnessed a low of .265. In an impressive multi-day run that saw the stock record higher highs and higher lows each and every day this week, ORRP managed to set a new high once again yesterday.

The top mark on the day was .698, which from our observed low of .265 represented a four-session rip of 163% With the kind of protracted momentum we’ve witnessed to this point, we’ll be certain to stay on ORRP’s trail.

United Cannabis Corp. CNAB

It’s been quite some time since a cannabis stock hit our radars, and CNAB broke the lull yesterday with a nice single-session move after we included it in our daily watchlist. The stock ran from .28-.40 on more than 3X its monthly average volume, marking a run of 43%

With elections fast approaching and marijuana being once again brought to the forefront as national attitudes toward its prohibition continue to shift to the negative, we’re going to be keeping a more keen lookout for potential plays in this arena. Perhaps most notably, California is set to make a decision on legalization for recreational purposes, a measure that is expected to pass if preliminary polling is to be believed.

OWC Pharmaceutical Research Corp. OWCP

We pointed out OWCP as a prime bottom-play opportunity yesterday morning, and our timing really couldn’t have been much better.

We saw a really nice jump out of the gate as the stock blazed a path from .0045 to .0074, a 64% intraday run, before holding in strong for a .007 close. The chart still appears very ripe for the possibility of further gains, with a rapidly strengthening RSI as well as a a bullish MACD cross in progress.

Fresh Options Ideas

With Costco beating on earnings post-market yesterday, and the chart having come down to a support level near its four-month lows, we want to signal a range of both weekly calls, as well as a couple that expire at the end of next week in the event that the heavily oversold stock is ready for a reversal as it appears it may be.

We’re going to zero in on COST Weekly $148-150 Calls for potential daytrades (Caution: Highly experienced traders only!) as well as the COST 10/07 $150 and 152.50 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Plays, NGBL Recap & More

Notis Global, Inc. NGBL

On an otherwise slow day, we were able to see a nice intraday move out of NGBL after including it in yesterday morning’s premarket watchlist.

This stock went from super-subpenny to subpenny territory, trading up in a daily range from .0009 to a high of .0015. That worked out to an intraday rip of 66% and it occurred on trading volume that exceeded the monthly average by roughly 75%

The stock tapered back to close at .0011, so it didn’t manage to hold at least half of its daily advance, but we’ll still remain interested in monitoring its activity provided it can hold support at or above yesterday’s swing-low on any pullbacks.

Oroplata Resources, Inc. ORRP

We also want to circle back to ORRP for an update this morning, following yet another solid intraday performance from the stock.

We  signaled this play for observation on both Monday and Tuesday, observing an overall low of .265. The stock has made higher highs and higher lows each day since, and yesterday it ran from a morning low of .355 to a new high of .50, a 41% pop.

From our initial low we witnessed at the beginning of the week, we’ve now seen ORRP make a total increase of 89% We’ll continue to have it on watch for the possibility of a sustained uptrend.

Enphase Energy, Inc. ENPH

We want to place ENPH on bottom-watch this morning after the events of the past few days have seen the stock coming off of a newly-recorded 52-week low.

There was a major selloff that resulted in a large gap on the chart, as you can see on the snapshot below, which was catalyzed by the company’s recent 13 million-share public offering. Since then the stock has been hovering around the level where the offering was transacted (1.20), but we’re going to want to keep it on watch for a recovery.

There has also been some recent insider buying in the stock, something for which we’re always on the lookout. All these factors, coupled with an oversold stock, make ENPH one that we’re going to be watching carefully in coming sessions.

OWC Pharmaceutical Research Corp. OWCP

We’ve got another possible subpenny bottom-play hitting the scanner this morning in OWCP. We’ve pointed out the various signals on the chart below, and will be monitoring the situation as we head into week’s end.

Regaining even half of its PPS levels of less than a month ago, would mean gains of at least 150% from the current share price.
