Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Post-Earnings Options & More

Dollar General Corp. DG

First up this morning is a look at DG, which revealed its Q3 earnings report early this morning, and appears to be gearing up for some continued bullish activity, for which we’ll want to formulate an options trading idea.

The stock has been in a general uptrend for many months, seeing its annual lows in June, and trading in a general upward channel ever since. DG is gapping up roughly 5% in premarket trading, and we’re going to look for action in the DG Weekly $93.50-96 Calls today and possibly tomorrow as well.

Lululemon Athletica

This is another stock that has put up a good performance since late spring. After seeing its own annual low at the end of May in the $66 area, LULU has recently breached the $90 mark.

That upward climb could continue on the heels of what was a solid beat on both sales and earnings in the post-market yesterday, as well as boosted sales guidance. When coupled with the $200M share repurchase the company has just authorized, and we have another excellent candidate for some options trading ideas. In this case we’re interested in tracking the LULU Weekly $72.50-74 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: VZ Update & More

My Size, Inc. MYSZ

We had MYSZ in our extended watchlist last monday, and the stock mainly traded sideways for the ensuing few sessions. We re-tagged it yesterday after noticing that the party had finally started, and the result was a very nice trading range on the stock.

From a low of .66 earlier this week, MYSZ reached a high of 1.28 during yesterday’s session, representing a move of 94% over just a short time span. The stock also traded record volume yesterday, se we’ll be sure to keep an eye peeled as we finish out this trading week.

Verizon, Inc. VZ

We’ve had a ton of success stories on the options front recently, and VZ has quickly grown into one of the top performers of the bunch. When we signaled a range of contracts to observe in the VZ chain on November 17th, the VZ 01/19 $45-48 Calls,  the stock itself traded for as little as 44.62. After a nearly continual bullish streak for the past couple of weeks, the stock has gone on to hit a high of  51.09.

That move has of course rocketed our selected contracts to astronomical highs. When we last updated their progress on Wednesday morning, they had offered gains ranging from 240-575% but thanks to two more solid sessions, those figures have been extended considerably.

VZ 01/19 $45-48 Calls
$45 Calls – Range: 1.08 -6.05 – Max Gain: 460%
$46 Calls – Range: .59-5.03 – Max Gain: 753%
$47 Calls – Range: .39-4.00 – Max Gain: 926%
$48 Calls – Range: .23-3.18 – Max Gain: 1283%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Fresh Options Ideas

Fresh Options Ideas

We’re going to start off the new trading week by identifying a couple of options ideas we’re seeing based on the chart setups of Under Armour Inc. (UAA) and CSX Corp (CSX).

In both cases, the stocks have been on a bit of a backslide, but went on to record bullish sessions on Friday. We’re going to look for confirmed reversals on both of these, and be ready with some options ideas if they can establish more sustained rebounds. On each chart, there are gaps to the upside, which is another thing we look for.

For Under Armour, which is giving off a strong multiple-bottom signal, we’re going to track the UAA 09/01 $17-19 Calls, and for CSX Railroads, we’ll want to look after the CSX 09/01 $51-53 Calls.

ImmunoGen Inc. IMGN

We also want to keep IMGN on our radars as we kick things off this week. We signaled it in Friday’s premarket report and it had a modest yet solid session on the heels of an earnings beat. We saw a low of 6.29, and this morning in early trading the stock has reached a high of 7.41.  While that’s only an 18% rise at the moment, we’ll want to keep an eye peeled for another bullish session.
