Muted Start to the Week, Fresh Ideas

Monday’s Options Recap:

The markets got off to a rough start yesterday, and that did negatively impact the scope of our options success with the plays we were monitoring, especially considering they were targets January expirations. We may yet see those rise to the occasion, but for now, our one quick-strike idea from yesterday’s premarket report did make a significant intraday move.

The SPY typically provides a lot of good intraday volatility for us, and is quite often good for solid intraday gains when timed properly. Our actual targets for yesterday were the SPY 12/19 $383-384 Calls, and these were the largest intraday swings we witnessed:

SPY 12/19 $383-384 Calls
$383:
 .65-1.45 (+123%)
$384: .38-.90 (+137%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
GIS 01/20 $85-80 Puts
PLAY 01/20 $35-36 Calls
HEI 01/20 $150 Calls

OTC Recaps:

We had another couple of plays that performed well off of yesterday’s extended watchlist. Especially on slow days for options, monitoring these daily selections of mainly OTC stocks has often proved to be a good alternative use of our time.

Another Successful Options Sweep:

Another daily newsletter, another set of fantastic opportunities to score solid intraday gains. We were firing on all cylinders with our fresh options ideas in yesterday morning’s premarket report. offering up our takes on what we figured would be four potential plays on the day. We figured correctly, and witnessed another sweep across the board, as the markets flew in the face of the early indicators and traveled up for a vast majority of the session,

That allowed for some excellent single-session moves on all of our designated targets, which were the PLAY Weekly $38-39 Calls, the ASO Weekly $34-37 Calls, the GTLB 06/17 $40-45 Calls, and the KSS Weekly $45-46.50 Calls. Only four of the twelve total sets of contracts in our highlighted ranges fell just short of multi-bag status on the day. The moves they recorded were as follows:

SPY, FUTU Gainers, Fresh Options Plays

Yesterday’s Big Runners:

Yesterday morning, as is typical for our daily premarket reports, we included a selection of options ideas comprised of both quick-strike and extended-term ideas. There was a lot of good volatility in the markets yesterday, so the quick plays worked out beautifully, while the longer-term target will take some time to mature.

Our spur of the moment ideas were the SPY 06/06 $413-415 Calls and the FUTU Weekly $38.50-40 Calls. In both cases, we had multiple chances for beautiful multi-bag intraday gains. Despite the fact that we are going to see a tapering of earnings reporters in coming weeks, if we continue to see the type of volatility yesterday brought, we should have too hard of a time tracking down opportunities like these.

SPY 06/06 $413-415 Calls
$413:
 .49-1.44 (+194%)
$414: .30-.85 (+183%)
