Big Runs from Friday, A Pair of Fresh Plays

Strong Finish on Friday:

We ended up in great shape on Friday, with the session bringing four out of the five targets in our premarket report some really nice intraday runs. We had one extended term idea with a November expiration fail to produce instant results, but we’ll continue to monitor in the days and weeks ahead.

5 Fresh Ideas to Close Out the Week

Solid Moves on Thursday:

Things proceeded fairly well following our premarket report yesterday morning, wherein we flagged four possible options targets for ourselves and our readers. As it turned out, three of them made solid daytrading candidates, with the fourth registering nominal activity. The odds worked out quite in our favor and got us back on a good track.

The three runners were the FDX Weekly $260-265 Calls, the KBH Weekly $47.50-46 Puts, and the SPY 09/22 $432-433 Calls and here’s what they did for us:

FDX Weekly $260-265 Calls
$260:
 1.82-4.21 (+131%)
$262.50: .88-2.56 (+191%)
$265: .38-1.29 (+239%)
_____

KBH Weekly $47.50-46 Puts
$47.50:
 .79-1.25 (+58%)
$47: .50-1.05 (+110%)
$46: .13-.40 (+208%)
_____

SPY 09/22 $432-433 Calls
$432: 2.52-3.42 (+36%)
$433: 1.90-2.70 (+50%)

In the case of the SPY Calls, which you may have noticed were today’s expiration, we’re going to continue monitoring as we believe there’s a good chance we see some new highs.

NVDA Weekly $410-415 Calls
AAPL Weekly $172.50-175 Calls

4 Fresh Options Plays & More

Wednesday Review:

It was a rough outing yesterday due largely in part to a horrendous response to the Fed meeting. Things remained mostly level until 2PM, and thereafter went into absolute freefall. As a result, just one of the two ideas we formulated for yesterday’s premarket report bore immediate results. Not an ideal set of circumstances or outcome, but we press forward as always!

As for our target that did prevail,  we were looking at the GIS 10/20 $65-67.50 Calls, and here are the modest yet respectable intraday moves we saw out of those:

GIS 10/20 $65-67.50 Calls
$65:
 1.37-2.04 (+49%)
$67.50: .39-.75 (+92%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
FDX Weekly $260-265 Calls
KBH Weekly $47.50-46 Puts
SPLK Weekly $140-143 Calls
SPY 09/22 $432-433 Calls

Bluejay Diagnostics Inc. (NASDAQ:BJDX) – Recap:

We also had a decent little mover jump off of yesterday’s extended watchlist, as BJDX underwent a gap-and-go scenario. The stock ran from a daily low of 4.20 and shares ended up changing hands for as much as 5.38. That works out to an intraday run of 28%

Extended Watchlist:
LIFW, NIR, NEPT, UPTD, MURF, KZR, RYPPF, CLNV

Tuesday’s Runners, Wednesday’s Watchlist

Tuesday’s Twin Targets:

As we were mentioning in yesterday morning’s premarket report, we’re pretty thin on earnings reports from big name companies with multi-billion dollar market caps, which are typically our favorite catalysts for the kind of intraday activity that is useful to daytraders. This relative dry period will unfortunately persist until the back end of October, but, as we did yesterday, we’ll continue to hash out whatever remaining targets look best on any given morning.

Yesterday we formed a pair of potential plays, the APOG 10/20 $50-55 Calls and the DAVA 10/20 $45 Puts, and they both exhibited some nice moves for us on the day, with a double-bagger coming out of both chains. Here’s what we were working with:

APOG 10/20 $50-55 Calls
$50:
 1.70-2.50 (+47%)
$55: .05-.30 (+100%)
_____

DAVA 10/20 $45 Puts

$45: 15-.30 (+100%).

Fresh Options Ideas:
GIS 10/20 $65-67.50 Calls
EMN 10/20 $80 Calls

Monday’s Runners, Pair of Longer-Term Plays

Good Start to the Week:

We got the fresh trading week off to a pretty good start yesterday morning. Despite having no big name earnings reporters to work with, we floated a few ideas that flew in the face of the overall trend of the day, yet still managed to log some serious intraday upswings. Unfortunately, we’re just entering another dry spell for earnings, and as usual, we’ll get along however we sit fit on the day-to-day.

As for yesterday’s targets, we were looking at the TSLA Weekly $277.50-272.50 Puts, the NVDA Weekly $435-430 Puts, and the SPY 09/18 $444-443 Puts, and here are the kinds of intraday runs they established on the session:

TSLA Weekly $277.50-272.50 Puts
$277.50:
 9.80-14.80 (+51%)
$275: 7.80-12.90 (+65%)
$272.50: 6.40-11.05 (+73%)
_____

NVDA Weekly $435-430 Puts
$435: 4.60-6.62 (+44%)
$432.50: 3.80-5.58 (+47%)
$430: 3.10-4.72 (+52%)
_____

SPY 09/18 $444-443 Puts
$444: .14-.88 (+528%)
$443: .47-.99 (+111%)
