Reviewing Thursday’s Movers, Trio of Fresh Ideas

Thursday Recap:

We had something of a rough outing on Thursday as the post-holiday hangover continues. We had four possible plays lined up in our premarket report and saw appreciable upswings in just two of them. Although stocks currently appear on track to close out the first week of the new year with losses, we’re quite optimistic that a turnaround will begin to materialize. We should be back in business next week as earnings reporters crop up to add interest, and traders continue to shake off the cobwebs.

Yesterday’s green plays were the NVDA Weekly $135-136 Calls, and the JNJ Weekly $145 Calls, and these were the intraday runs they registered in the first session of 2025:

NVDA Weekly $135-136 Calls
$135:
1.60-4.24 (+165%)
$136: 1.88-3.16 (+68%)
_____

JNJ Weekly $145 Calls
$230: .20-.33 (+65%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 01/03 $585-586 Calls*
SQ Weekly $88-89 Calls*
CRNC 01/17 $10 Calls

*Trading options contracts on their day of expiration should only be attempted by experienced traders

Friday’s Big Movers, 3 New Possibilities

Another Mistake Free Week:

We finished off last week in exactly the fashion we hoped we would. After going perfect through Thursday, each of the ideas we included in Friday’s premarket report, ended up registering multibag upswings on the day. Our targets for the day were the SPY 09/20 $570-569 Puts, the FDX Weekly $265-260 Puts, and the LEN Weekly $187.50-185 Puts. Here were their top upswings for Friday:

SPY 09/20 $570-569 Puts

Monday’s Runners, 4 Fresh Targets

Solid Start to the Week:

We got things off to a fine start on Monday morning with the pair of plays listed in our premarket report both producing intraday gain opportunities. It was a light load in terms of big time earnings reporters on the calendar, but we made it happen all the same.

We had the EL Weekly $94-95 Calls, which fared reasonably well, and the SPY 08/19 $554-555 Calls, which went on an incredible multibag run on the day. Here’s how those performances shook out:

EL Weekly $94-95 Calls
$94:
 1.90-3.20 (+68%)
$95: 1.40-2.01 (+44%)
_____

SPY 08/19 $554-555 Calls

$554: 1.03-5.50 (+434%)
$555: .59-4.44 (+652%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
PANW Weekly $347.50-352.50 Calls

Alzamend. Inc. (NASDAQ:ALZN) – Recap:

We also wanted to briefly update on the run put up by ALZN, which we flagged in our extended watchlist. Due in part to the recent news of monkeypox outbreaks, this stock ran hard from a low of 5.72 on up to 15.06, which works out to an intraday pop of 136%
