Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Recent Big Winners

SUCCESSFUL OPTIONS REVIEW

If you’ve been following our work for a long time, you have no doubt noticed a change over the years. From mainly OTC picks and the occasional big board play, to our present state. We still highlight pure stock plays when the situation calls for it, but the bulk of what makes us so accurate and successful is most definitely our knack for quick-strike options trading.

On Friday, both of our fresh ideas popped off for huge gains, and  play that we were tracking through the short week also added to its gains. We’ll outline the total possible profits from each of those trade ideas to start this new trading week:

$217.50 Calls – Range: .29-.63 – Max Gain: 117%

PVH Corp. PVH

We were discussing PVH for half of the short week beginning on Tuesday with our signal on the PVH 09/20 $75-85 Calls on Wednesday morning, and the movement in the stock allowed additional gains throughout the week. Here are the updated figures of the maximum possible profits off of those ideas:

Pier 1 Imports Inc. PIR

We also want to provide a quick recap of the performance of PIR since we called it as a bottom-watch play a little over two weeks ago on August 23rd. We went so far as to say “From current pricing, it would not be crazy to think that this retail stock may be capable of doubling”.

The following day the stock saw a low of 3.76, and hasn’t looked back since. On Friday it hit a new high of 7.20, falling just shy of our possibility assessment with a total increase of 91% over the past couple of weeks.

Qudian, Inc. QD

We’re looking at a potential bottom-play in QD as we kick off the week also, which as you can see on the following snapshot, has a ripening chart at the moment. The company reported earnings this morning, which beat expectations, while revenues fell slightly short.

The stock could be setting up for another run at the $7.00 range or better, so we’re going to begin monitoring QD in upcoming sessions.

Huge Winners from Friday

We highlighted multiple options ideas on Friday, and are pleased to report that we found major success across the board. Despite closing flat, the markets as a whole produced an intraday run which was sufficient to push everything on our radar to huge gains. It was a great way to close out 2018 with a bang, especially considering the poor trajectory we were on just a few sessions prior.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY) – For the SPY we formulated two sets of ideas, one for calls and one for puts, and because of the market, both ideas were hugely successful. They were the  SPY Weekly $248-249.50 Calls, and the SPY Weekly $251-250 Puts. For the Calls, the crux of the gains came in the 2 o’clock hour, while the heaviest moves for the Puts came at Power Hour.

$248 Calls – Range: .84-3.47 – Max Gain: 313%
$248.50 Calls – Range: .64-2.80 – Max Gain: 338%
$249 Calls – Range: .50-2.50 – Max Gain: 400%
$249.50 Calls – Range: .40-2.05 – Max Gain: 410%

$251 Puts – Range: .81-3.81 – Max Gain: 370%
$250.50 Puts – Range: .62-3.21 – Max Gain: 418%
$250 Puts – Range: .43-3.02 – Max Gain: 602%
_______

Tesla, Inc. TSLA

We also had a range of TSLA Calls lined up on Friday, and those all fared extremely well also. The gains were even more impressive than those of the SPY, with a five, a six, and an eight-bagger in the mix!

$322.50 Calls – Range: 2.14-13.50 – Max Gain: 531%
$325 Calls – Range: 1.39-11.05– Max Gain: 636%
$327.50 Calls – Range: .90-8.80 – Max Gain: 878%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SPY, TSLA Options

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY) – Options Ideas

We’ve now had two consecutive sessions of gains for stocks following a weeks-long downtrend, and are eager to see if this reversal of fortune has a more lasting effect. With a high degree of uncertainty at play, and the potential for volatile swings in either direction, we’re going to signal two opposing sets of ideas in the SPY chain, to set ourselves up for any eventuality. We may even see a case of another dip-and-rip kind of session, where we play one set early on and another later in the day.

Our two sets of ideas are going to be the SPY Weekly $248-249.50 Calls*, and the SPY Weekly $251-250 Puts*.  If the SPY can get above the premarket high of 251.16 during the session, we’ll look to our bullish ideas. Failure to do so, will cause us to track the bearish ones. Either way we should have good opportunities laid before us by the SPY today.

Tesla, Inc. TSLA – Options Idea

We’ve also formulated an idea for the TSLA chain. Tesla stock is getting another boost this morning after proposed additions to the board of directors, including Larry Ellison, the founder of Oracle Corp. (ORCL), are being very well received by investors.

We’re going to track the TSLA Weekly $322.50-327.50 Calls* on the heels of this announcement.
