Record SPY Performance Drives Gainers: 

Here we are kicking off yet another trading week filled with moneymaking possibilities! Last week was impeccable in terms of the accuracy of our options ideas. A vast majority of the targets we’ve been establishing daily have posted gains ranging from fair to eye-opening.

Friday morning’s premarket report was no exception. In fact, thanks to the SPY hitting fresh all time highs, one of those gainers was among the best we’ve unearthed so far in the month of June. Retail Earnings Opportunities

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. CBRL – Recap: 

This morning we’re updating readers on the fresh options idea from yesterday. Just to give a heads up, this idea appeared in our report yesterday as Weekly calls, which was in error. The next expiration date on any existing CBRL options is June 18th, so we’re talking about the CBRL 06/18 $155-165 Calls.

Those fared quite well on the day despite three weeks remaining until their expiry. Here are the intraday gains they recorded:

$160: 2.45-4.40 (+80%)
$165: 1.25-2.40 (+92%)

Based on premarket activity this morning, it appears as if CBRL may be preparing to gap up, and as a result we may see further advances in these contract sets. We’re going to want to continue to monitor their activity into June 18th.

Despite a general decrease in the number of daily earnings reporters, we’ve got a fair few retail giants dropping figures this morning, and we’ll venture a target for the SPY as well.

Winning Options Review: 

As is typical for a Monday morning around here, we’ll kick off this fresh trading week by going over our winning ideas for Friday’s session from the day’s premarket report, before moving into what’s interesting to us today.

The top movers for the day began with our targets in the Deere & Co. chain, the DE Weekly $357.50-362.50 Calls which were pushed by a strong Q2 showing for the company. That was followed closely by our SPY targets, the SPY 05/21 $415-417 Calls which yielded their large intraday moves in an afternoon rebound.

We are fairly dry on the earnings front today, but we did notice a solid technical setup on PTON, along with some insider buying last week. We’ll look to formulate a shorter and longer-term set of corresponding targets.

Things are going to be slim with regard to the daily number of earnings reporters to choose from for quick-strike trading ideas for the next 8 weeks, but we’ll strive to find other opportunities like these.
