Sustained Options Success, Fresh Plays

Solid Day for Options:

While the markets still had a down day overall yesterday, they did open higher in the morning and exhibited some good volatility and decent intraday upswings. That activity aided our daily options trading selections, which put up some nice figures, and the chance for ourselves and our readers to take advantage.

Our designated targets for the day were the ORCL Weekly $70-72.50 Calls, the COP Weekly $110-112 Calls, and the FERG Weekly $100-110 Calls. We saw positive movement out of every individual contract set in those ranges with the one exception of the FERG $100’s, which didn’t register much activity. The other nine sets produced the following gain opportunities:

ORCL Weekly $70-72.50 Calls
$70:
1.11-2.14 (+93%)
$71: .71-1.55 (+118%)
$72: .45-1.06 (+136%)
$72.50: .39-.86 (+121%)
_____

COP Weekly $110-112 Calls
$110: 4.19-6.23 (+49%)
$111: 3.75-4.86 (+30%)
$112: 1.55-2.11 (+36%)
_____

FERG Weekly $105-110 Calls
$105: 5.10-7.30 (+43%)
$110: 2.15-2.60 (+21%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 06/15 $374-376 Calls*
FISV 07/29 $92-93 Calls
PCOR 07/15 $45-50 Calls

*Trading options on their day of expiration carries a higher risk level and should only be attempted by seasoned options traders.

ProText Mobility, Inc. TXTM – Update:

We just updated our readers on the recent movements of TXTM in yesterday’s premarket report, which we had seen run from a low of .0016 to .0049, and yesterday brought another session of huge volume and new highs for the stock, which hit .0073. That brings our overall observed range on TXTM to an impressive 356%

Using the SPY to Our Advantage, 3 Fresh Ideas

SPY Puts Surge:

Once again yesterday, the markets losses are our gains. Our lone options trading idea for the day focused upon a dim view of the SPY, and with another precipitous decline for stocks, we hit the nail right on the head. This is among the reasons why our readers see SPY plays in our newsletters on a highly regular basis, as it tends to be easier to predict the actions of the markets as a whole than it is do so the same for just one. The SPY also sees a lot of intraday volatility which can often lead to opportunities on both sides of the fence in a single session.

In terms of yesterday morning, due to a bit of a drought of earnings reporters, our premarket report contained only one idea, which was the SPY 06/13 $385-383 Puts. Those targets offered up the chance at the following really nice intraday profit chances:

 SPY 06/13 $385-383 Puts
$385: 4.24-11.01 (+160%)
$384: 3.46-10.50 (+203%)
$383: 2.84-9.67 (+240%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
ORCL Weekly $70-72.50 Calls
COP Weekly $110-112 Calls
FERG Weekly $100-110 Calls

ProText Mobility, Inc. TXTM – Recap:

We also wanted to provide a quick recap on the run in TXTM yesterday. We last flagged this play for observation in an extended watchlist a few weeks back, subsequent to which the stock was trading for as little as .0016. Yesterday, on an immense amount of volume, the stock surged as high as .0049, which marks a 206% swing over our observed low.

SPY Yields Thousand Percent Gainers & More

SPY Calls Roll:

Up until yesterday morning, it had actually been quite some time since we had last formulated a daily trading idea for the SPY, which historically has been one of our most common targets. Despite an up-and-down session for the markets, we did observe some very nice gain opportunities in our targeted contracts.

We were looking at the SPY 09/13 $446-448 Calls due to a relative dry spell of earnings reporters that will persist for the next several weeks. It turned out to be a solid choice, with our designated range yielding three out of three multi-baggers, including two sets that ran well over a thousand percent!

Here are the total moves and possible profits provided by our selections on the day:

SPY 09/13 $446-448 Calls*
$446:
 .05-.99 (+1880%)
$447: .01-.16 (+1500%)
$448: .17-.44 (+159%)

We’ll stick with the same SPY targets but for tomorrow’s expiration, following better than expected Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures dropped this morning.

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 09/15 $446-448 Calls
ORCL Weekly $87-85.50 Puts

B 10/15 $35-45 Calls

Extended Watchlist:
DSGT, HRAA, UPIN, INCC, IGEN, BSTK, LIFE, NNVC, JCS
