Extended-Term Options Plays Paying Off

Reviewing Winning Ideas:

We typically focus more on options expiring at the end of a given week, there are certainly occasions when we target those with expiration dates weeks, or sometimes even months into the future. Which way it falls is often determined by the setup and conditions in which we find a play.

Today, we’re going to go over the recent moves made by a few of the longer-term options ideas to grace our watchlist recently. We signaled the DRI 07/16 $140-145 Calls in our report last Thursday morning, June 24th, and just a few sessions prior on the morning of the 21st we alerted the TBIO 08/20 $17.50-20 Calls and the MRNA 08/20 $195-210 Calls.

Marin Software, Inc. MRIN – Recap:

Like a couple of the above-mentioned plays, we signaled MRIN in our report on the morning of June 24th on the basis of the stock alone. We didn’t even need options to leverage with this play as it has continued to soar to new highs.

Yesterday MRIN hit 21.68, which from our observed low of 2.56 registers as an increase 747% of in just a week’s time for this NASDAQ-listed stock!

Another Fruitful Options Trading Week on the Books

Options Round-Up:

We try extremely hard on a regular basis to search for, and point out, options trading ideas that we think may have a chance to be successful plays for our readers. It has become the primary focus of our typical daily activities, and for good reason. We excel at it more often than not, and despite going through a period with a relatively meager earnings calendar, we have still managed to keep things going on that front.

Yesterday we formulated a four-pack of fresh options targets and three of those turned in some very nice gain chances for the day. Our winning picks were the CCIV Weekly $25-26 Calls, the DRI 07/16 $140-145 Calls, and the EXPI 07/16 $40 Calls.

Here were the intraday moves and total possible profit chances they attained:

CCIV Weekly $25-26 Calls
$25: .57-1.36 (+139%)
$26: .22-.66 (+200%)
_____

DRI 07/16 $140-145 Calls
$140: 2.71-4.30 (+59%)
145: 1.25-2.18 (+74%)
_____

EXPI 07/16 $40 Calls
$40: 1.85-2.65 (+43%)

Fresh Options Ideas:

We actually do have a few good earnings reporters this morning, with NKE and KMX drawing most of our attention. We’ll also venture a few targets for the SPCE chain following the FAA’s approval of its planned commercial sub-orbital flight business.

NKE Weekly $149-152.50 Calls
KMX Weekly $125-127 Calls
SPCE Weekly $45-49 Calls

Options Swing Trade Ideas & More

Recap of Friday’s Plays:

We finished out last week with a bang as we reaped the reward of some very good options ideas. Not only did our fresh ideas from Friday morning in the SPY and TLS pop off for multibag gains, but our targets in DRI from Thursday morning’s premarket report, also tacked on some impressive new highs.

These gains were added in roughly the final 90 minutes of the session, where the markets made an incredible surge into the close that sets this holiday-shortened week up to be very interesting.

Here are the trading ranges and total possible profits on our successful ideas, a couple of which are still active for another couple of weeks before expiration:

SPY Weekly $398-399 Calls

FUBO 05/21 $25-30 Calls

ViacomCBS, Inc. VIAC – Options Idea

We’ve been taking note of the massive selloff in VIAC over the past week as the company’s massive fundraising efforts resulted in a huge $2.1B block trade priced at roughly $47/share. The stock has come all the way down to those levels and we want to enter a longer-term swing trade idea to coincide.

We are going to radar the VIAC 06/18 $50-55 Calls and keep track of them over the coming weeks and months.

DVLP Recap, Fresh Options Ideas

Options Review:

Our fresh options ideas in our morning report yesterday were the DRI 04/16 $135-140 Calls and the RH Weekly $510-502.50 Puts. We picked them off of the daily earnings calendar, and were met with significant gain opportunities as a result.

In the case of RH, the potential profits came shortly after 10 o’clock, and the lowest target in our selected range did not see much activity, but the chances were there nonetheless and a couple of them reached multibag status. The DRI contracts were in full-go mode, as Darden stock shot up more than ten dollars from 134.19-144.90.

Golden Developing Solutions, Inc. DVLP – Recap

We included DVLP in yesterday’s extended watchlist, and the stock rose to the occasion with a very nice intraday run. We saw it jump from a low of .005, smash through the penny barrier, and go as high as .0144. That worked out to total possible gains of 188% on the day.

It also turned out to be the single highest daily volume in the entire history of the stock. With that kind of activity, we’ll certainly want to continue to reserve it a spot on our watchlist.
