Bucking the Trend with Options

Big Time Options Success: 

Despite the markets sliding over the Russia-Ukraine conflict anxieties, we managed to round up a fair few options winners in our premarket report yesterday morning. Only one longer term idea failed to instantly materialize, with all of our quick strike options plays posting solid gains on the day.

More Options Perfection:

We ended the week in Friday’s report by patting ourselves on the back for the options clean sweep that we managed with Thursday’s ideas. Of course, we formulated a group of fresh ideas for that report as well, and once again, we were flawless.

All three of the fresh options plays that we signaled interest in, recorded huge moves on the day and allowed for some serious single session gain opportunities to anyone who was in on the action. Our specific targets were the PANW Weekly $535-545 Calls, the WDAY Weekly $285-275 Puts, and the AMAT Weekly $150-148 Puts. Regardless of which strikwe point was chosen, the moves were considerable.

Recapping Home Depot Calls, Other Options: 

As usual, our first order of business for the day is to provide tracking on our active options trading interests. This morning that includes the solid moves made by the Home Depot calls we signaled for observation in yesterday’s premarket watchlist. as well as some more new highs on a couple of the other plays on our radar this week.

A Solid Options Sweep:

We went all out in yesterday morning ‘s report with options ideas in four chains. We’re finally back into the swing of another earnings season and it feels great! We selected three off of the daily earnings calendar, and went with some SPY calls as well, and we were not disappointed in any regard.

All four of our designated targets saw appreciable intraday runs. Those were the SPY 10/20 $448-450 Calls, the NFLX Weekly $635-640 Calls, the TRV Weekly $155 Calls, and the STLD 11/19 $60-65 Calls. Atea Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AVIR – Recap:

Also in yesterday morning’s report was a tag of AVIR, which gapped down hard in the the premarket and immediately set about filling that gap.

The stock traded in a daily range from a low of 10.76, cruised back to as high as 16.63 (+55%) and did so on massive volume to the tune of more than 34X the daily average. We will continue to track its activity under these interesting circumstances in upcoming sessions.

Another Positive Options Performance: 

On Wednesday morning, we initiated coverage on a set of SPY Calls, the SPY 10/08 $430-431 Calls which provided instant results, as we were mentioning yesterday. In fact, those fared so well that rolled up to include the SPY 10/08 $436-438 Calls on our watchlist as well.

With yet another bullish session posted by the S&P, we saw impressive new highs in our previously tracked plays as well as some solid single session runs recorded by the updates strikes as well. The moves and total possible gains on all of those contract sets breaks down as follows:

To wrap things up during what has been an immensely successful trading week for both options and stocks, we have an update on AMLH. We flagged this play for observation for the first time on Sept. 22nd, and since then it has exhibited a multibag run. From our observed low of .0026, yesterday’s new high of .0074 works out to an increase of 185%
