Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DAL Options & More

Delta Airlines Inc. DAL

Despite a tumultuous day for the markets yesterday, and mostly everything taking on a bearish characteristic, we’re still going to go bullish on DAL in the wake of the company’s quarterly earnings report released this morning.

Despite rising fuel costs, the company revealed that profits soared well past expectations as a result of increased demand leading to higher ticket prices.

As we always try to do when a company posts a solid beat, we’ll designate a range of options to place on watch, in this case the DAL Weekly $49.50-52 Calls. We’ll go ahead and track these into the end of the week. DAL stock was already oversold, getting hammered for weeks, so this report may be just the catalyst needed to effect an impressive reversal.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

We had great success with the SPY earlier this week, and we want to come back to it this morning in the wake of the markets getting crushed yesterday. With the amount of uncertainty and potential volatility out there, we want to set ourselves up to have an active idea no matter which way the winds blow.

Should the SPY fall below $276, we will target the SPY Weekly $277 & $276 Puts. If it pulls above $276 we will focus on the $276 and $277 Calls, so either way, we should be able to quickly identify the proper course once trading commences. .

Genesis Healthcare, Inc. GEN – Bottom Watch

We would like to place GEN on bottom watch this morning, after taking notice of the chart setup on our routine scan this morning.

As you can see from the included snapshot, we have a number of factors contributing to the stock’s attractive bottom setup. The stock has been falling sharply all week, cruising down toward its 200DMA at an alarming rate. Additionally, we have a MACD which is exhibiting unsustainable downward divergence, and an RSI indicating the stock has just entered extremely oversold territory.

This is exactly the sort of setup we look for in potential bottom bounce plays, and we’re going to slot GEN for observation in coming sessions to be ready for that eventuality.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: FAST Review & More

Fastenal Co. FAST – Recap

We have had a continuous run of good fortune with our past several options calls over the last few weeks, and we continued to press our luck yesterday in signaling a range of options ideas for FAST.

We highlighted the FAST Weekly $50-55 Calls  as our fresh idea in yesterday morning’s premarket report, and not only did each of them provide chances for single-session profits, but they did so in absolutely grand fashion.

Serious multi-bag moves were on the menu regardless of which of the three strike points in our selected range was chosen by traders, with the $55’s being the most eye-popping with 38-bagger!

$50 Calls – Range: 1.65-6.50 – Max Gain: 294%
$52.50 Calls – Range: .45-4.00 – Max Gain: 789%
$55 Calls – Range: .05-1.98 – Max Gain: 3860%

Idera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. IDRA

We also want to place IDRA on bottom watch this morning after noticing how oversold the stock has become.

A merger agreement, one that wasn’t particularly favored to begin with, was cancelled, causing a big selloff. The kicker, is a literal ‘kicker’, a cancellation fee of $6M payable to IDRA by the proposed merger partner. That’s why we feel now is a good time to begin watching IDRA for a possible bottom bounce.
