Wrapping Up a Challenging Yet Fruitful Week

Yesterday’s Movers:

The end of another trading week is upon us, and while market conditions have certainly made it a challenge, we’ve still been able to log some pretty good ideas and subsequent chances for traders to benefit. Yesterday morning’s premarket report yielded three out of four movers, and while the gains weren’t off the charts, there were still solid plays to be made.

Our movers for the day were the TCOM 10/21 $25-26 Calls, the LEN Weekly $75-76 Calls, and the DRI 10/21 $125 Puts, and the modest-to-intermediate gains they registered on the session were as follows:

TCOM 10/21 $25-26 Calls

$25: 1.35-2.50 (+85%)
$26: 1.11-1.90 (+71%)
_____

LEN Weekly $75-76 Calls

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 09/23 $371-369 Puts
COST Weekly $465-475 Calls

Global Tech Industries Group, Inc. GTII – OTC Recap:

We caught a pretty good gainer with GTII on yesterday morning’s extended watchlist. The stock posted a nice little breakout for us that fell just shy of producing a double-bag gain opportunity for us. GTII ran from a low of .93 and went on to hit its daily high at 1.78. That works out to a single-session run of 93% and it came on the stock’s second-highest volume day of all time!

Another Pair of Options Bangers, Fresh Plays

Big Time Options Runners:

Yesterday was a very interesting day on the markets, as the Fed Meeting predictably threw an element of extreme volatility into the mix that typically helps swing traders such as ourselves and most of our readers. The activity sent the SPY 09/21 $386-385 Puts, which we signaled for observation on Tuesday morning, into an absolute frenzy of multibag movement.

We also had signaled a longer-term set of calls in the GIS 10/21 $77.50-80 Calls, yesterday morning, and General Mills bucked the trend so heavily that we didn’t even have to wait days or weeks for the idea to mature, as is often the case with our signals that have expiration dates weeks or months into the future. Those too made excellent moves during what turned out to be a very exciting trading day.

1800% Options Runner & More

Recap of Tuesday’s Plays:

With yesterday morning’s premarket report, it marked at least the third straight session where targets in the SPY chain have been our primary focus. We have been inclined to take the bearish path over this span, and have been rewarded for our efforts each and every day.

Yesterday we had zeroed in on the SPY 09/21 $386-385 Puts, and another of our potential plays, the APOG 10/21 $40-45 Calls also recorded some really good activity for us, including an absolutely mind-bending 1800% runner! Congratulations are most definitely in order for anyone who able to identify and take advantage of that massive mover.

Looking to the SPY Amid Earnings Drought

Leaning on the SPY:

We started off the fresh trading week yesterday on fairly decent footing. We formulated a batch of three options ideas in yesterday morning’s premarket report, a couple of quick-strike plays and a longer-term idea. Both of the near-term targets looked pretty good for us on the day.

Those plays were the SPY 09/19 $385-383 Puts and the TTWO Weekly $119-121 Calls , with the latter producing larger gain opportunities by a fairly large margin as you can see here. We’re going to stick with the strategy of going bearish on the SPY once again today with a fresh target range that you can find below. We may find ourselves looking to the SPY more and more as the present earnings dry period persists.

SPY 09/19 $385-383 Puts
$385: .70-2.00 (+186%)
$384: .50-1.46 (+192%)
$383: .34-1.02 (+200%)

TTWO Weekly $119-121 Calls
$119:
3.50-4.00 (+17%)
$120: 3.40-5.23 (+54%)
$121: 2.40-3.50 (+46%)

Fresh Options Ideas:

SPY Shorts Prevail, Fresh Ideas

Friday Options Recap:

We put up a fairly good performance on Friday, with both of the quick-strike options ideas we had formulated in our premarket report for the day recording significant movement during the session. The markets in general continued to get beat up, leaving our ideas which were both bearish, to make some pretty good headway for us.

Our winning targets were the SPY 09/16 $387-384 Puts, and the ADBE Weekly $305-300 Puts. , and while the potential gains for the day weren’t earth-shattering we’d still call the following numbers to be quite solid considering the lack of earnings ammunition we’re dealing with at present. As we always say, during dry spells for earnings we have to get a bit more creative than usual, but that will never stop us from giving it the old college try!

SPY 09/16 $387-384 Puts
$387:
 2.39-5.05 (+111%)
$386: 1.85-4.15 (+124%)
$385: 1.42-3.35 (+136%)
$384: 1.09-2.65 (+143%)
_____

ADBE Weekly $305-300 Puts
$305: 8.13-12.47 (+53%)
$302.50: 5.46-10.34 (+89%)
$300: 2.91-7.99 (+174%)
