Tuesday’s Movers, 6-Pack of Fresh Trading Ideas

Tuesday’s Five Movers:

We filled yesterday’s premarket report with a nice selection of five potential options trading plays, and managed to continue this week’s solid run of success on all fronts. Things have been going quite well during the holiday season, a time of year which can often be rather subdued, or even boring. We’ve managed to maintain a level of excitement with shrewd daily picks, and will attempt to keep that trend going into the new year.

Yesterday’s points of focus were the SPY 12/19 $472-473 Calls, the COIN Weekly $152.50-155 Calls, the MARA Weekly $20-21 Calls, the ACN Weekly $340-335 Puts, and the WBD 01/12 $12.50-13 Calls. Here were the kinds of intraday moves they posted for the session:

4 Fresh Options Plays & More

Wednesday Review:

It was a rough outing yesterday due largely in part to a horrendous response to the Fed meeting. Things remained mostly level until 2PM, and thereafter went into absolute freefall. As a result, just one of the two ideas we formulated for yesterday’s premarket report bore immediate results. Not an ideal set of circumstances or outcome, but we press forward as always!

As for our target that did prevail,  we were looking at the GIS 10/20 $65-67.50 Calls, and here are the modest yet respectable intraday moves we saw out of those:

GIS 10/20 $65-67.50 Calls
$65:
 1.37-2.04 (+49%)
$67.50: .39-.75 (+92%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
FDX Weekly $260-265 Calls
KBH Weekly $47.50-46 Puts
SPLK Weekly $140-143 Calls
SPY 09/22 $432-433 Calls

Bluejay Diagnostics Inc. (NASDAQ:BJDX) – Recap:

We also had a decent little mover jump off of yesterday’s extended watchlist, as BJDX underwent a gap-and-go scenario. The stock ran from a daily low of 4.20 and shares ended up changing hands for as much as 5.38. That works out to an intraday run of 28%

Tuesday’s Twin Targets:

As we were mentioning in yesterday morning’s premarket report, we’re pretty thin on earnings reports from big name companies with multi-billion dollar market caps, which are typically our favorite catalysts for the kind of intraday activity that is useful to daytraders. This relative dry period will unfortunately persist until the back end of October, but, as we did yesterday, we’ll continue to hash out whatever remaining targets look best on any given morning.

Yesterday we formed a pair of potential plays, the APOG 10/20 $50-55 Calls and the DAVA 10/20 $45 Puts, and they both exhibited some nice moves for us on the day, with a double-bagger coming out of both chains. Here’s what we were working with:

APOG 10/20 $50-55 Calls
$50:
 1.70-2.50 (+47%)
$55: .05-.30 (+100%)
_____

DAVA 10/20 $45 Puts

$45: 15-.30 (+100%).

Fresh Options Ideas:
GIS 10/20 $65-67.50 Calls
EMN 10/20 $80 Calls

Wednesday’s Winners, New Earnings Plays

Recapping Wednesday’s Movers:

We did fairly well with the options ideas we highlighted in yesterday morning’s premarket report. There were significant intraday moves for two out of our three ideas, and we strongly suspect we’ll be circling back for the third at a later date. We also have a relatively large slate of earnings reporters this morning, so we should be able to pick up the pace as we head into the end of this trading week.

The possibilities that did pan out quite well on the day Wednesday were the AVAV 07/21 $95-100 Calls, and the GIS 07/21 $75-72.50 Puts., which both produced some very nice intraday activity.

AVAV 07/21 $95-100 Calls

$100: .70-1.75 (+150%)

GIS 07/21 $75-72.50 Puts
$75:
