Blue Horseshoe Stocks: FCEL, AQXP Recaps & More

Aquanox Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AQXP

AQXP was among the stocks that we presented in yesterday’s premarket report, as we were catching it a couple of days after some really positive developments were announced by the company. Despite already being up significantly at that point, our instincts to include it in our daily interests proved to be well-founded.

The stock made a monstrous move right out of the starting gate from 17.56-55.75, a walloping 217% initial rip, followed by an extreme pullback. The activity in AQXP was so abnormally volatile that trading was temporarily halted. AQXP stock is presently gapping up in premarket trading as high as 38.74 so far this morning.

Familiar Bottom-Bouncers

Yesterday was an interesting session in that we noticed an unusually high number of stocks with which we are very familiar, making some excellent moves off of their recently-attained low-points.

FuelCell Energy, Inc. FCEL – FCEL had been on a continuous backslide for many weeks. The company released a positive PR (Link Below) and things took off from there, as you can see on the included chart. We’ll be looking for the stock to maintain at least half of the advance it made yesterday on any pullbacks.

___

Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. INO

INO also had a big day generated by a PR. The company entered into a partnership with AstraZeneca to provide its cancer treatment in a deal that could reportedly bring as much as $700M in revenue INO’s way. (>>>Get More Details). We are well-acquainted with this stock, having last mentioned it just a couple of weeks ago. We’ll be keen to track the ensuing activity after yesterday’s major revelation, and roughly 30% increase on the day.

___

Other stocks that we routinely discuss that also made appreciable moves off of relative lows yesterday were Voltari Corp. VLTC, Dominovas Energy Corp. DNRG, and Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. ASTI. Those familiar bottom-bouncers were joined by New Source Energy Partners. NSLP, a newcomer to our reports. We’ll be watching the whole lot as the week progresses. Continued gains, as well as possible dip-and-rip scenarios could be in the cards for any and/or all of them!

Fresh Options Ideas

We’ve got a nice selection of new options-trading possibilities to enter into the mix today:

Shake Shack, Inc. SHAK –  Shake Shack beat on earnings  yesterday and is gapping up in the premarket today. As a result we are going to be taking a look at Weekly $72-76 Calls for potential chances at intraday/intraweek flips.

Apple, Inc. AAPL –  We’ve had a lot of success with AAPL Options in both the distant and recent past, and a new, longer-term idea to monitor in coming weeks is going to be the Sept. 18th $120-122 Calls.

Twitter, Inc. TWTR – For a prospective idea in the TWTR chain, we’ll stretch our target period out to that same Sept. 18th expiration, and track the 9/18 TWTR $30-32 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options, MILL Recaps & More

Miller Energy Resources, Inc. MILL

More often than not, when highlighting a stock that has recently recorded a new 52-week low, we’ve had very good fortune- yesterday’s premarket tag of MILL was no exception. It had just registered its annual bottom on Tuesday, and it set us up to bear witness to quite a respectable rebound.

From a low of .26, MILL surged as high as .38, marking an intraday pop of 46% and it happened on just over six times the 3-month average trading volume.

The move came in conjunction with an interesting sequence of events-Tuesday the company announced its significant doubt of its ability to continue as a going concern, which is what brought it to a new 52-week low. We caught it on the news scanner yesterday with a more positive message, regarding the receipt of a $33M tax credit from the State of Alaska and a potential loophole on the company’s debt in the form of a possible loan.

From this point forward we’d suggest an added note of caution pertaining to MILL on account of these somewhat mixed signals. The company is still in danger of filing for bankruptcy, but for our purposes, it turned out to be a nice mid-week bottom-play.

NuGene International, Inc. NUGN

We also wanted to point to another PR that hit the wires yesterday on a stock that we’ve been monitoring this summer. Back on June 15th, we tagged NUGN for observation and watched as it ran from 2.67-3.88 (+47%).

This week, after pulling back to find support at a low of 2.55, NUGN is rebounding back past the $3 mark. We’re going to want to watch it into next week, especially after the exposure that it’s set to receive this weekend.

Per a PR released yesterday the world-famous Kathy Ireland, whose namesake products NUGN distributes, will be doing a special on Fox Business Network (Sunday, 5:30pm ET) and Bloomberg International (Sunday, 8:30am CET, 3:00pm HKT, and 10:30am CDT). It’s called Worldwide Business with kathy ireland® and it will introduce a new line of stem cell-based skincare products. >> VIEW PR

Options Recap

It may be hard for some of our newer subscribers to believe, but most of the options calls we made yesterday morning ended up yielding chances at double-bag gains! Our regular readers won’t be surprised at all, as we routinely formulate such opportunities for options daytrades.

FitBit, Inc. FIT

All of the FIT Options ideas we signaled (Weekly $45.50-48 Calls) yesterday gave us the chance for notable gains, with the most significant action coming from the $46-48’s.

The $46 Calls initially ran 192% from 1.06-3.10, then dipped to a low of .79 before rebounding to 1.85 for an added 134% swing.

The $47’s first burst carried them from .96-2.24 (+133%) dipped to .45 closed at 1.20 (+166%)

$48 Calls went on a 93% run from .88-1.70, and pulled back to .40 before ripping back to .75 for a chance at an extra 87% gain.

___

Netflix, Inc. NFLX

Our ideas for NFLX Weekly $100-105 Calls are figuring to turn out quite nicely as well before the week is out.  In the image below we can see the closing prices on all of those contracts; with NFLX trading above $110 in the premarket, we expect to see all of those prices increased significantly as they’re pushed deeper into the money. We’ll be on the lookout for dip-and-rip scenarios for the remainder of the week and may consider rolling our strike prices up closer to the money, perhaps somewhere in the 107.14-111.43 range in the event the uptrend continues.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ODP Update, FRO & More

Frontline, Ltd. FRO

The last time we mentioned FRO was early this month, at which time the stock was trading at a low of 1.33. It has been ramping its way up over the past few sessions, making higher highs and higher lows, and we wanted to flag it once again this morning as it is trading up significantly in the premarket.

This morning’s high of 2.15 represents an increase of 61% over the 1.33-low that we observed as recently as Monday. With the heavy early-morning momentum we’re seeing we’ll want to follow along with this play closely today and into next week.

Talisman Energy, Inc. TLM

We’ll keep an eye on TLM today as well based on some heavy premarket activity and the fact that the stock is coming up off of its 52-week lows. We’ve noticed a break on the chart due to a gapdown from around 5.60 to 4.80, and with the stock currently trading in the 4.40’s, we should be on the lookout for it to possibly make a run at filling that gap.

ChemoCentryx, Inc. CCXI

Also popping up on our morning scan is CCXI, which is currently trading feverishly in the premarket on the heels of a PR early this morning regarding positive top line results on one of its products currently in testing.

With the stock up over 100% in early trading, we’re going to be on the lookout for massive profit-taking to potentially drive the price back down where it may set us up to take advantage of a dip-and-rip opportunity.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Dec. 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ChemoCentryx, Inc., (CCXI), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders and cancer, today announced positive top-line 52-week data from its Phase II clinical trial in diabetic nephropathy with CCX140, an inhibitor of the chemokine receptor known as CCR2. >> FULL PR

Office Depot, Inc. ODP

ODP was a good call for yesterday’s session, as it made a solid 8% move on news that a large activist investor took up a significant position in Office Depot while raising its existing stake in Staple stock to 10% total ownership. It is fueling speculation that there could be pressure for a merger between the two, so this is definitely a story we’ll continuously track going forward.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CACH, PLUG & More

CACHE, Inc. CACH

Continuing the pattern of tracking bottom-plays that we’ve established this week, we have another potential play to add to the mix this morning with CACH.

We noticed this one on our premarket scanner this morning, and after glancing at the chart we can see potential for a possible dead-cat bounce. The stock has recently been beaten back to a new 52-week low at .22, and is rebounding back to the mid-.30’s in this morning’s premarket trading. We’ll have an eye on it for at least the remainder of the week.

Today’s Press:

CACHÉ, Inc. (CACH), a national multi- channel specialty retailer of women’s apparel and accessories, today announced that the Company has received an inquiry from a third party regarding a potential sale of the Company >> Full PR

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

Our long-time subscribers will certainly recall our monstrously-successful interactions with PLUG in the past, but for those who are newer to our reports, a quick refresh- we tagged plug initially back on February 28th, 2013 at a price of .135, and over a 13-month period followed it all the way to a high of 11.72 (this March); an eye-popping increase totaling 8,581%

Currently, PLUG is trading near the $4-mark in this morning’s premarket, and there is a gap on the chart from roughly 4.50-5.00. If the stock can break its 50DMA at 4.36 on the strength of a significant PR this morning, we could see a gap-fill.

On the whole, the stock is trading at a relative bottom, and with a number of factors looking favorable (including this morning’s announcement of a contract worth upwards of $20M), we like the chances of seeing some opportunities come our way.

The severe beating currently being administered to the fossil fuel markets makes now as good a time as any to look at alternative energy plays like this one, as well as others we’ve previously tracked within the sector, such as BDLP and FCEL.

LATHAM, N.Y. and SPOKANE, Wash., Dec. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Plug Power Inc. (PLUG), a leader in providing clean, reliable energy solutions, today announced that it has executed a multi-year contract for its ReliOn integrated fuel cell solution and GenFuel hydrogen services to be used with a major North American telecommunications provider. >> Full PR

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: LAKE Recap & More

Lakeland Industries, Inc. LAKE

Yesterday’s report turned up another premium opportunity for us to take advantage of a big intraday move. LAKE produced the largest percentage gain on the NASDAQ, starting out in the morning at a low of 10.32, and pressing upward all day long, hitting its high of 13.68 just prior to the closing bell. That equates to a strong 32% increase, and it came on more than twice the 3-month average volume.

LAKE is probably going to be a stock that we’ll want to monitor into the new year, following the recent revelation that the company would be releasing its Q3 financials on December 10th, which are expected to include increased sales to the tune of +15%  We’ve been made aware that those numbers will not reflect international sales or impact from Ebola-related orders which are expected to be realized in fiscal Q4 2015 (period ending 01/31/15) >> Read PR

Options-Trading Side Note:

We want to give ourselves a pat on the back for accurately determining how to approach PBR this week. Just to give a quick rundown; we outlined the PBR January 17th $10 and $11 Calls in Monday’s report. We watched as they dipped back and gave us a good chance for a discounted entry, and in yesterday’s premarket report, stated that we’d attempt to reap our profits on the gap-up that was in progress.

From the lows we observed Monday, ($10: 1.16, $11: .67) we were able to achieve significant gains at yesterday’s early highs. The $10 Calls ran as high as 1.57 (+35%) and the $11 Calls saw the 1.00-mark (+49%).

There’s still plenty of time before these contracts expire, so there’s a good chance that we’ll be able to realize further opportunities down the road from the PBR 01/17 $10 and $11 Calls.

Let us take this opportunity to wish all of our members a safe and happy holiday, and we’ll see everyone for a half-session on Friday.
