Smooth Move on the SPY, Earnings Plays & More

Flip to SPY Calls Proves Timely:

In yesterday morning’s premarket report, just one out of the three options ideas we put forth was a quick-strike play, and that was our spur of the moment bullish take on the SPY. After multiple recent sessions of rooting out solid gain opportunities from SPY Puts (On Friday and Monday) we flipped to the other side of the fence just in time to catch yesterday’s market rally.

That led to some very nice multibag profit chances on the day from our targeted range, the SPY 06/15 $374-376 Calls. Those big-time moves were as follows:

SPY 06/15 $374-376 Calls
$374: 2.13-9.47 (+345%)
$375: 1.74-8.70 (+400%)
$376: 1.46-7.80 (+434%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
ADBE Weekly $372.50-370 Puts
CMC Weekly $35-37 Calls
KR Weekly $51-49.50 Puts

ProText Mobility, Inc. TXTM – Update:

Friday’s Options Perfection, Fresh Idea for the SPY

Friday’s Options Review:

The markets got absolutely crushed to close out the week on Friday, so it was fortunate that the majority of the plays that we offered up as intraday trading ideas were on the bearish side of the fence. However, the one set of calls that we rode with also bucked the trend and posted some huge gains, so we swept the board with a perfect performance on the day.

Our particular targets for the day were the BABA Weekly $110-113 Calls, the DOCU Weekly $68-65 Puts, the SPY 06/10 $400-398 Puts, and the SFIX Weekly $7-6.50 Puts. The potential profits produced by these plays did not disappoint. Those figures were as follows:

.27-.95 (+252%)
$111: .09-.49 (+444%)

_____

DOCU Weekly $68-65 Puts
$68: .91-3.70 (+307%)
$67: .54-3.00 (+455%)
$66: .36-2.20 (+511%)
$65: .20-1.50 (+650%)

SPY 06/10 $400-398 Puts

SFIX Weekly $7-6.50 Puts

$7.00: .05-.25 (+400%)

Fresh Options Idea:

As we mentioned at the outset of last week, we’re heading into a very thin and spotty time in terms of big name earnings reporters, which are typically our daily bread and butter for quick-strike options trading opportunities. In times like these, we usually rely upon playing daily SPY targets. Today we’re going to look at the SPY 06/13 $385-383 Puts.

Starting the Week Off Right, Keeping it Rolling

More Options Rippers:

Once again we came up with some solid options plays yesterday. A couple of the fresh ideas we formulated and passed along in our premarket report fared rather well. We led off with some SPY Puts which worked out from the outset, as the markets dragged their feet until around noon. We also had a bullish set of calls in the Coke chain which afforded ourselves and our readers a decent shot at some sizable intraday profit opportunities. The other pair of ideas from yesterday’s report were longer term calls with expiration in late May, so we’ll come back to those at a later date.

Our winning targets for the day were the SPY 04/25 $426-424 Puts and the KO Weekly $64-66 Calls, and here were the gains that were there for the taking on those:

SPY 04/25 $426-424 Puts

Ending the Trading Week on a High Note

Bearish Plays Yield Gains:

We have been shrewdly hitting on big options plays this week, and we carried that trend through yesterday’s session. Things looked grim for stocks in the premarket, so we signaled a couple of bearish ideas to take advantage of the day’s sentiment. It worked like a charm, with both of our designated sets of puts providing ample opportunity for intraday gains.

We were targeting the PATH 04/14 $25-22.50 Puts, and the WBA Weekly $47.50-46.50 Puts, and got some very nice movement from those plays, with ranges and percentage gains as follows:

PATH 04/14 $25-22.50 Puts
$25:
 2.20-4.71 (+114%)
$22.50: .95-2.65 (+179%)
_____

WBA Weekly $47.50-46.50 Puts

$47.50: 2.27-3.27 (+44%)
$47: 1.52-2.77 (+82%)
$46.50: 1.30-2.20 (+69%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
SPY 04/01 $452-453 Calls*
BABA Weekly $112-116 Calls*
YETI 05/20 $70-75 Calls
AEHR 04/14 $10-12.50 Calls

*Please do not attempt to trade options contracts on their day of expiration unless you are an experienced trader with access to disposable funds.
