Options Runners & More

More Earnings Hits:

Our impressive run of options success continued with the fresh ideas we included in yesterday’s premarket report. We were feeling bearish about Campbell’s and United Foods following their quarterly earnings reports, and our instincts proved to be well founded.

Our targets were the CPB Weekly $48-46 Puts, and the UNFI 06/18 $40-35 Puts, and in both cases, we witnessed some very nice intraday moves in our targeted ranges.

Majic Wheels Corp. MJWL – Update:

We have been tracking MJWL for some time now, with our initial tag coming in on the morning of May 13th. Subsequent to that report just a shade under a month ago, the stock changed hands for as little as .0094.

Toward the end of May and into this month MJWL has been streaking to new highs, yesterday reaching its best mark yet at .0791. That’s a total increase of 741% in just a short time. Even those who had only caught our tag of MJWL this Monday morning, still had a shot at some nice gains. Monday’s low came in at .0453, which as of yesterday’s new high marked a three-day upswing of  75%

Interesting Technical Setups & More

Yesterday’s Earnings Plays:

Two of our fresh options plays for yesterday’s report were weekly calls, and despite a mixed session for the markets as a whole, they experienced appreciable intraday moves. The activity in the MRVL Weekly $49-51 Calls and the SFIX Weekly $61.50-65 Calls didn’t blow the lid off of anything, but we did witness some highly respectable gain opportunities.

MRVL Weekly $49-51 Calls

$50: .62-1.23 (+98%)

Interesting Chart Plays:

Also catching our eye this morning are a couple of interesting chart setups in FibroGen, Inc. FGEN and Fastly, Inc. FSLY, and in both cases we will be watching the stocks as well as some potential options ideas.

In the case of FGEN, there are a couple of large gaps to fill to the upside, and over the past couple of sessions the stock has given indication that it may be about to do so. We’re going to be tagging the FGEN 07/16 $27.50-30 Calls for observation.

On FSLY, the gap-fill has occurred this week and the PPS is now on the verge of breaking past the 50DMA with its considerable momentum. We’ll radar the FSLY 06/25 $61-63 Calls.

Coronavirus Watchlist & More

Todos Medical, Ltd. TOMDF

The see-saw of market volatility persists with no end in sight. Traditional investing has become a fool’s errand in many, if not most, cases. The kind of opportunistic short term trading that we do is relatively intact, with the right targets and scenarios.

In this case, we caught TOMDF’s coronavirus news in the premarket yesterday, stating that the company had secured distribution agreements for testing kits in both the US and Isreal. After including it in our extended watchlist, the stock managed a very nice intraday gain. It traded up from a low of  0413, and reached a high of .08, which works out to an intraday upswing of 94%

Coronavirus Watchlist

While we do focus primarily on quick strike opportunities, it’s also worth it to mention a few plays that represent products and services that are high demand at the present time due to the fallout from COVID-19. If the report from the UK’s highly respected Imperial College is accurate, this global health crisis is only in its beginning stages, and will get much, much worse in the months ahead.

While neither these, nor any other plays are “corona-proof”, the effects may weigh less heavily on these stocks and those like them:

Hear AtLast Holdings, Inc. HRAL

We’ve been tagging a lot of OTC stocks for observation in our extended watchlists, as penny plays can often see a rise in activity when uncertainty hits the major markets.

HRAL was the most impressive performer from yesterday’s list, with two distinctive moves on the day, first from .035-.0549 (+57%) and then from .0301-.043 (+43%) works out to cumulative gains of up to 100%

More Pharma Winners

Pharma Updates

Ocular Therapeutics, Inc. OCUL  – We’ve been observing OCUL for a couple months now, beginning with our report from Dec. 30th. The stock did rise considerably in a predictable pattern over the first two months of 2020, and thanks largely in part to the effect the coronavirus is having on many pharma plays, the stock really kicked the increases into high gear this week.

Subsequent to our report just prior to the New Year, OCUL was trading for a little as 3.83 a share, and its new high yesterday came in at 7.48, marking a solid rise of 95%
_____

Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. INO  – We signaled INO on Thursday morning, and provided an update again in yesterday’s report. From its low of 3.83, we have now witnessed an upswing of 145% as of the stock’s new high of 9.40 achieved yesterday.

The markets have begun to swing back and forth with just the kind of volatility that we relish, but it is highly unlikely that we are seeing the last of the coronavirus’ effect on stocks in general. With the outbreak not yet contained, it stands to reason that this volatility will persist for the foreseeable future.

Campbell Soup Co. CPB – Options Update

We offered up an options idea for the Campbell’s chain yesterday, the CPB Weekly $49-50.50 Calls. While the 49.50’s didn’t trade substantial volume, the other three contract sets in the range saw some nice moves.

CPB Weekly $49-50.50 Calls

$49: 2.03-3.10 (+53%)
$50: 1.25-2.58 (+106%)
$50.50: .98-2.10 (+114%)
