KMX, SPY Options Recaps:

We had even more continued success with our options ideas as we reached the halfway point of this 4-day trading week yesterday, including the third successful flip on our attitudes toward the SPY, which has been very kind to us this week. The day ended with some nice results from the two sets of plays we designated for observation.

We were looking at the KMX Weekly $105-97.50 Puts, which put up some really nice figures, and the SPY 04/12 $441-444 Calls, which ran out of the gate and posted some more modest yet still very respectable gains early in the session.

The trading ranges and total potential profits that could have been banked off of those ideas were as follows:

KMX Weekly $105-97.50 Puts
$105: 4.50-11.76 (+161%)
$100: 1.65-6.80 (+312%)
$97.50: .87-4.48 (+416%)
_____

SPY 04/12 $441-444 Calls
$441:
3.40-5.61 (+65%)
$442: 2.82-4.89 (+73%)
$443: 2.27-4.15 (+83%)
$444: 1.80-3.46 (+92%)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Great Start to the Week

T2 Biosystems, Inc. TTOO

This past Thursday morning, we cautioned our readers that TTOO was heavily oversold, and sniffing out a bottom with a massive gap to the upside. As it turned out, our timing on that alert could not have any better. The stock saw its low of .52 that day and hasn’t looked back since. Yesterday, TTOO reached .76 which works out to a three-day upswing of 46%, a modest yet respectable move.

More importantly, the stock is once again taking off on the heels of a fresh PR this morning (below), reaching a new high of 1.13 in premarket trading. That further extends our observed range on this play to 117% as TTOO begins to fill the gap on the chart that we mentioned which runs up to the 1.36 mark.

LEXINGTON, Mass., Aug. 06, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — T2 Biosystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTOO) announced today that the United States Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) granted approval for a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) for the T2Bacteria® Panel for FY 2020.

Options Reviews

SPDR S&P500 (ETF) SPY –  As a fresh options idea to start the week yesterday morning, and in light of the bearish market sentiments that we were sensing in the premarket, we went with SPY Weekly $290-288 Puts as our targets. Early indications ultimately proved to be correct, as the markets tanked on the day, sending those contracts on a huge ride.

The following multi-bag gains were there for taking:

$290 Puts – Range: 2.27-8.19 – Max Gain: 261%
$289.50 Puts – Range: 1.98-7.30 – Max Gain: 269%
$289 Puts – Range: 1.51-7.10 – Max Gain: 370%
$288.50 Puts – Range: 1.29-5.54  – Max Gain: 329%
$288 Puts – Range: 1.18-6.10 – Max Gain: 417%

____

Allakos, Inc. ALLK – We also signaled interest in the ALLK 08/16 $45-60 Calls yesterday in opposition to the market activity we were observing, and those targets bucked the trend quite nicely, with three out of the four producing notable opportunities on the day:

$45 Calls – Range: 16.41-25.53 – Max Gain: 56%
$55 Calls – Range: 9.00-15 60 – Max Gain: 73%
$60 Calls – Range: 6.75-14.20 – Max Gain: 110%

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – Options Recap

Despite market-wide turmoil over Britain’s “Brexit” vote, we saw fit to target a range of SPY options for observation in Friday morning’s premarket report. Our highlighted contracts were the SPY Weekly $200-205 Calls and with the exception of the lower denominations, which were were too far into the money to see any solid gain opportunities, they worked out quite well.

Some intraday volatility was the primary element which allowed quick-fingered traders to reap instant rewards from all but two of the contracts in the $205-202 Put-range. The potential gains were as follows:

$205 Puts – Trading Range:  .77-2.43 – Max Gain: 215%
$204 Puts* – Trading Range: 1.20-3.05 – Max Gain: 154%
$203.50 Puts* – Trading Range: 1.55-3.15 – Max Gain: 103%
$203 Puts* – Trading Range: 1.82-3.86 – Max Gain: 112%
$202 Puts – Trading Range: 2.87-4.88 – Max Gain: 70%

*Contracts labeled with an asterisk also saw a late day run of OVER 200% EACH, in addition to the initial moves listed above!

New Columbia Resources, Inc. NEWC

Today we’re circling back around to a play we have tracked in the past. Things have been mostly quiet for NEWC this year, with the exception of a massive run from the .007-range up as a high as a nickel. Since that time, leading up to last week, the stock had been under consistent consolidation. Tuesday, it began to experience a bounce that once again has our interest focused upon this cannabis-related play.

Due to the apparent impending end of over five decades of internal hostilities in Columbia, the company has commented on a bolstered outlook for its projects (both cannabis and mining) in the South American nation. Should the resolution be ratified in an upcoming referendum, it could mean good things for the future of NEWC, and accordingly, its stock.

TTDZ, DEWM & Extended Watchlist

Triton Distribution Systems, Inc. TTDZ

Yesterday’s alert on TTDZ offered up opportunity for all, as the stock exploded out of the gate, trading from a low of .0052 all the way up to .009. That marked an intraday spike of 73% on nearly three times the 3-month average volume. Yesterday’s high represents a gain of 650% from our initial alert-low of .0012 on January 30th.

Perhaps most significantly is the fact that the stock finished out the session at .0088, very close to its high of day, and appears to want to gap up this morning.

As always, we need to watch carefully for the point where the stock runs out of steam, at which time we’ll be waiting for a pullback to lead to a future bounceplay opportunity. It’s all about being sharp-eyed and playing the current trend.

Dewmar International BMC, Inc. DEWM

DEWM, which has already afforded us gains in the 700%-range had some marijuana-related news out this morning that’ll lead us to watch this stock like a hawk today. The trading community has welcomed Dewmar’s intent to enter into the cannabis sector as evidenced by the hefty spikes on the chart we’ve witnessed. Today’s news furthers the company’s goals to that end, as they’ve announced the acquisition of a new subsidiary to house the company’s current and future cannabis holdings.

This is a story that we will definitely be paying attention to, as they attempt to become a player in the hemp industry, fueled by the Fed’s recently legalizing the cultivation of industrial hemp.

HOUSTON, TX–(Marketwired – Feb 20, 2014) – Dewmar International BMC, Inc. (OTCQB: DEWM) (OTCBB: DEWM) (“Dewmar” or “Company”), a leading provider of consumer brands to global markets announced that it has secured U.S. Hemp Corporation, Inc. d/b/a United States Hemp Corporation as a wholly-owned subsidiary for the purpose of holding and marketing the future hemp-related assets of Dewmar. >>> FULL PR

CHTP, TSLA, CANN & Extended Watchlist

Chelsea Therapeutics International, Inc. CHTP

This is a bio-pharma play that we’ve mentioned in the past, which has been undergoing some interesting activity. The stock recently fell off of a cliff, coming down from nearly 4.50 at the end of 2013, to find a bottom in the high 2.20’s on Monday. It was halted for yesterday’s session over the release of an FDA-approval related PR (below), and has resumed trading pre-market this morning, already up over 150%.  It will be exciting to see how the pattern unfolds today. Rest assured, we will be laying in wait for what appears to be potential breakout conditions.

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options Ideas

It’s been awhile since we delivered any options-trading ideas, and have noticed some potential with TSLA. The stock was on the move yesterday, punching over the $160-mark. We want to radar the $165 & $170 Weekly Calls (Expiring 01/18) for possible intraday flip opportunities.

For instance- The 170 Calls closed at 1.17 yesterday, and will most likely gap up this morning, to the tune of 100%. If we were to see a move to $180 out of TSLA, those contracts could potentially approach the $10-mark

Advanced Cannabis Solutions, Inc. CANN

CANN was among a group of pot stocks that we added to our tracking list last week, and even as some of the other marijuana plays have been searching out a bottom, this one has managed to sustain its uptrend. We mentioned that it was on the rebound yesterday morning, and from its open at 8.00, the stock managed to close at 10.40. That marks a single-session move of 30%
