Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CNET Recap & More

ChinaNet Online Holdings, Inc. CNET

CNET made an excellent move following its inclusion in yesterday’s morning report, as the stock would go on to trade in an impressive range from  a low of 2.41 up to a new annual high of 3.98 on nearly 34x its one-month average volume. The strong 65% intraday run came in the first hour of trading, so folks had the chance at some very rapid, very substantial gains. Congrats if you were among them!

Direxion Daily Jr Gld Mnrs Bear 3X ETF (JDST)

We introduced JDST as a way to leverage against the falling prices of gold yesterday, and it’s working out in our favor so far. This ETF didn’t waste any time Monday morning, as it began a morning ascent that would last all day and carry it from a low of 14.65 to 16.88, a modest yet solid gain of 15%

We’ll have our eyes on this one for as long as it appears that the dollar will continue to strengthen.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DRL, PLUG Earnings & More

Doral Financial Corp. DRL

Following yesterday morning’s mention of DRL and the opportunities it has sent our way over the past couple of months, the stock once again provided for us. This time, it came in the form of a classic dip-and-rip, making its way down to an early-morning low of 6.80 before spending the rest of the session on the rise. We saw shares changing hands at 7.68 just prior to the close, a modest yet solid intraday move of 13%

Estimates have DRL’s earnings release pegged for the end of next week, so it should be interesting to see how this play fares over the next handful of trading days.

Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR Update

PBR has fallen into a consolidation pattern over the past couple of sessions, and we are monitoring the chart for signs of a bottom. The stock crept below 15.50, its lowest price in a month.

We’d like to see PBR get back above the 50DMA of 15.68, but in the meantime, we’ll  need to see support hold above the 14.50-mark. Once we observe the telltale signs of another turnaround, we’ll be able to re-form our options trading strategies.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG– Earnings Released

Our regular readers are well familiar with PLUG, a stock that has graced our reports dozens of times over the years, which we tracked over a mind-numbing range, .135-11.72, from early 2013 to March of this year. This morning will be a good time to turn our attention back to this hall-of-famer.

We want to keep an eye on PLUG in the wake of its earnings release early this morning. The stock is presently gapping up on the strength of record revenues, and looks to be gearing up for an interesting session. We’ve taken an excerpt from the PR, and provided a link to the full release below:

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NSPH, DLIA, POWR

Nanosphere, Inc.  NSPH

NSPH is the first of a few new plays that we pulled off of our scanner this morning. The stock made a big move on Monday after it was learned that Nanoshpere had landed a substantial contract. Yesterday the company received FDA clearance on one of its products (Verigene(R) Enteric Pathogens Test), but could not maintain a steady run as a result of an overall dip in the markets.

The stock is, however, gapping up again this morning. We may want to keep an eye peeled for this play, as it is still trading near a relative bottom at its current price range; the stock was trading at 2.50 and above as recently as March.

dELIA*s, Inc. DLIA

Next up, we have DLIA, which popped up on our scanner as something of a momentum play. The stock is coming off of a recent bottom, and has been exhibiting the signs of a bullish run. A quick review of the chart shows that DLIA has made higher lows and higher highs for the last three consecutive trading sessions, and continued to build up a head of steam yesterday, pushing through its 50DMA.

We’re seeing a sizable gap-up this morning as well, and as you can see the chart still looks extremely bullish. We have an RSI which looks like its just about to punch into the power zone, and a MACD which recently underwent a bullish cross. If DLIA can now manage to break through the 200DMA (.98), it appears to have a pretty clear path on up to the 1.25-1.35 range.

PowerSecure International, Inc. POWR

Last but not least we have POWR, which is another morning gapper. The stock fell off a cliff on worse-than-expected earnings back in early May. We are now seeing some of that gap being filled, and want to keep a close watch over this play for the remainder of the week at the very least.

The gap on the chart goes all the way up to more than $18, so a return to previous levels would spell gains of more than 100% Even if the stock can manage to get back above its 50DMA (Currently 12.49), it would yield profits in excess of 40% over present prices.

Today the company announced it had successfully modified the service arrangement with one of its major utility customers to improve the terms of its ongoing service as outlined in the PR below.
