Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review & More

Walmart, Inc. WMT

At the top of our report yesterday was an idea we formulated for the WMT options chain, the WMT 03/16 $90-93 Calls. WMT stock had been under pressure in the previous two sessions, and we got the start of the rebound we were looking for.

We’ll want to see that trend confirmed today with the registering of higher highs and higher lows, but as it stands, here are the gains that our idea yielded on the first day.

$90 Calls – Range: 2.70-3.90 – Max Gain: 44%
$91 Calls – Range: 2.30-3.20 – Max Gain: 39%
$92 Calls – Range: 1.78-2.56 – Max Gain: 44%
$92.50 Calls – Range: 1.62-2.26 – Max Gain: 40%
$93 Calls – Range:1.39-2.00 – Max Gain: 43%

.
Avis Budget Group, Inc. CAR

We also said we were going to look for opportunities in the CAR 03/16 $42-44 Calls yesterday morning, and those got off to a good start as well. After gapping up considerably, the stock continued to run, facilitating the following intraday moves on our first day of observation.

$42 Calls – Range: 2.80-3.90 – Max Gain: 39%
$43 Calls – Range: 2,21-3.11 – Max Gain: 41%
$44 Calls – Range: 1.70-2.60 – Max Gain: 53%

Based on the premarket activity we’re observing this morning, we’d expect CAR to extend its gains, and see further increases in these contracts.

Progressive Care, Inc. RXMD

We also had RXMD in yesterday’s premarket report via our Extended Watchlist, and saw some good first day activity there as well. It caught our eye because of the huge run it had already previously been building up. We thought we could ride the wave, and it worked out nicely.

The stock traded up from a low of .0663, and went as high as .086, for a move of 30% on the day, and being in blue skies at the moment, there’s no telling when this ride will let up.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: WMT Calls & More

Walmart, Inc. WMT

After a period of a couple of trading sessions where WMT has taken considerable abuse on the chart. After appearing to be gearing up to make an impressive run, the stock gapped down considerably on Tuesday and the backslide persisted through yesterday.

This major selloff has brought the stock down to its lowest PPS since November, and had us thinking about a range of calls to slate for observation in the days and weeks ahead. We’re going to signal the WMT 03/16 $90-93 Calls, which should be in line for some solid activity if Walmart mounts the recovery that, at this point, looks very possible.

Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. HTZ

We would like to put HTZ on watch as a possible bounce play this morning. As you can see on the included chart snapshot, the stock is giving off a strong double-bottom signal, and just fell below its 200DMA yesterday.

We’re going to monitor the activity here closely, because as you can see, there is a considerable amount of room to run to the upside, and the stock has been approaching heavily oversold territory.

___________

Avis Budget Group, Inc. CAR

While we’re on the subject of car rental agencies, our eye has also been caught by Avis, whose stock just came down to an area of trendline support, and also posted a Q4 earnings beat.

We’re going to look for opportunities in the CAR 03/16 $42-44 Calls in coming sessions.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: WMT Options Recap & More

Wal-Mart Stores, inc. WMT – Options Review

We signaled a wide range of options contracts in the Wal Mart chain yesterday, the WMT Weekly $92-96 Calls, and every single one of them produced the opportunity for huge single session gains. It was a post-earnings beat idea, and those have a tendency to work well in our favor.

WMT made a considerable move which allowed for multi-bag gains regardless of which strike price was selected. Those potential profits were as follows:

$92 Calls – Range: 2.55-7.40 – Max Gain: 190%
$92.50 Calls – Range: 2.13-7.15 – Max Gain: 236%
$93 Calls – Range: 1.42-6.58 – Max Gain: 363%
$94 Calls – Range:1.03-5.53 – Max Gain: 437%
$95 Calls – Range: .60-4.50 – Max Gain: 650%
$96 Calls – Range: .23-3.50 – Max Gain: 1421%

It appears as if WMT could keep this train rolling today, so we may look to roll up to the WMT Weekly $98-100 Calls* to stay close to the money.

Fresh Options Ideas:

We also want to put a few contracts from the Foot Locker and Verizon chains on watch today. Footlocker currently has a ripe bottom-play setup happening on the chart, while Verizon is another post-earnings beat idea.

FL Weekly $38-42 Calls*

VZ 01/19 $45-48 Calls

* Never trade options with a weekly expiration on a Friday unless you’re an expert trader with disposable funds. It’s just about as risky as it gets.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Watch Play & More

Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc. SGYP – Bottom Watch

We noticed SGYP start to sell off rapidly last week, after a poor earnings report and the pricing of a public offering on the stock with shares being offered at 2.58. Combined with the start of tax-loss selling season, and SGYP has approached extreme oversold territory.

We’ve now begun to take interest in this as a bottom watch play to monitor for a rebound in coming sessions, and it could ultimately be quite a recovery. We’ve got a stock that was trading for nearly seven dollars a share at the beginning of this year, beaten all the way down to new annual lows. If SGYP were to regain even a portion of the ground it’s lost in recent months, it would be worth our time to track it.

Wal-Mart Stores, inc. WMT – Options Idea

Looking at this morning’s premarket earnings calendar, it was WMT that jumped out at us the most, with a solid beat, and heightened guidance propelling the stock to a moderate gap up at the moment.

We’re going to formulate a quick options idea to try to take advantage of the situation. Walmart has been exceptionally bullish for most of this year, and is currently soaring into blue skies, setting a new annual high with every uptick.

We’re going to put the WMT Weekly $92-96 Calls on watch for the remainder of the week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Big Options Success & More

Huge Options Success

We went all-in on the options front on Friday, with both of our primary focal points being high-risk options plays, and the rewards were considerable. Both sets of ideas turned out to be successful, regardless of the strike prices chosen.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd BABA – On Friday morning, we were just patting ourselves on the back for Thursday’s successful alert of the BABA Weekly $162.50-170 Calls which had provided some nice gain opportunities on the order of 119-311% Those figures were nice, but they paled in comparison to Friday’s performances. We did specify that we’d want to “continue to keep our eye on these plays to close out the week, as further increases are a possibility.”

“Further increases” may be the understatement of the year. Explosions would have been a more accurate term! Our highlighted range actually contained an ultra-rare FIFTY-bagger, so anyone who had been following our BABA options coverage had a chance to make a mint!

$244.50 Calls – Range: 2.00 – 6.95   – Max Gain: 247%
$245 Calls – Range: .53-4.41 – Max Gain: 732%
$245.50 Calls – Range: .10-2.18 – Max Gain: 2980%
$246 Calls – Range: .01-.51 – Max Gain: 5000%

_____

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc  WMT – Our other options focus from Friday was for Walmart, with the WMT Weekly $79.50 & $80 Calls. An early run by the stock created the necessary volatility to push our ideas to multi-bag status inside of the first hour.

The $79.50 Calls were the big winner there, running from .19-.86 for an intraday pop of 353% The $80’s weren’t too far behind with a solid push from .15-.46; a gain of 207%

China Information Technology Inc. CNIT

We saw a wave of increased activity in several China-based plays on Friday, and CNIT is one among them that seems worthy for observation as we kick off another trading week this morning.

We like the chart setup- the stock had a really solid run from May to June after which there was a consolidation, and has recently been showing strength off of its established support in the mid-.80’s. There was also a recent bullish breach of the 50DMA.

The company will need to get and keep its shares above $1.00 to satisfy NASDAQ’s minimum bid requirements, and we think there’s a fair chance of that happening.
