Kicking Off the Short Trading Week

Friday’s Solid Plays:

We fared quite well with the potential options trading targets we included in our premarket report on Friday. We put up three ideas, and saw some really nice intraday moves from each of those plays. It finished off a really solid week of good ideas for us.

We had the INTU Weekly $707.50-715 Calls,  the DECK Weekly $105-100 Puts, and the ROST Weekly $135-130 Puts on watch, and here were the best upswings they exhibited during Friday’s session:

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SGBY Recap, BBRG & More

Signal Bay, Inc. SGBY

SGBY was a solid call from yesterday morning’s premarket report, as the stock continued a run that began on Thursday, and continued to go strong. We watched as SGBY traded in a daily range from .003 on up to .0042, for a very respectable intraday run of 40%

We’ll look for the stock to set a higher low today, maintaining a level greater than yesterday’s swing low, and the next key area of resistance is sitting at .0052.

Viper Energy Partners LP VNOM – Options Update

We tagged VNOM for observation on Friday, along with a corresponding options trading idea. Our interests were the 09/16 $15 and $17.50 Calls, and while the $15’s didn’t see appreciable levels of volume, the 17.50’s have made quite a nice move over the preceding two sessions.

From a low of .15, the $17.50 Calls have reached .45, for a nice, round, 200% pop over that two-session span.

VNOM will be trying for its sixth straight trading day posting higher highs and higher lows today, and with several weeks remaining until the expiration of those contracts, we’ll be interested in tracking this play further in sessions to come.

Bravo Brio Restaurant Group, Inc. BBRG

We want to highlight BBRG this morning as a potential bottom-bouncer. This stock fell off an absolute cliff a few sessions back following a disappointing Q2 earnings report, and after settling into a new 52-week low on Friday, appears to have begun showing some bounce activity.

We always tag plays like these when we run across them, as they have often turned into solid recovery plays for us in the past.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AMDA Recap & More

Amedica Corp. AMDA

We want to begin this morning by highlighting the performance of AMDA last week. We put this one on our radar on Tuesday, and would witness a heck of a run which culminated in an extremely strong session on Friday.

On Tuesday following our alert, we observed a low of .3851, and after registering higher highs and higher lows throughout the middle of the week, AMDA hit a new high of .6199,  which accounts for an intraweek swing of 61%

For a stock trading in that price range, we’d call that a top-notch four-session performance!

Fresh Ideas

We’ll also add a couple of newcomers to our radar this morning. We’ve got an energy play and a mining play that are both are coming off of rough outings on Friday:

Uranium Energy Corp. UEC fell below $2 for the first time since April during Friday’s session, so we’ll want to be open to possibility of a possible bottom-bounce here. Today the company revealed that it will be added to the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global® Index, effective this Friday. >> Read PR

Great Panther Silver Ltd. GPL also took quite a beating to wrap up the week, falling to the low .30’s. In premarket trading today the stock is back above .40, so we’ll be on the lookout for a continued rebound here as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Another Big Move From PZOO & More

Pazoo, Inc. PZOO

We’ve been more than pleased with the performance of PZOO this month after coming back to follow it closely on the 1st. We’ve tracked it every step of the way as it has made its way from a subpenny low of .0049 (04/06) and streaked to impressive new highs following our morning report on Friday.

PZOO started from a daily low of .0123 and broke the key level of resistance at .014 (we pointed out in a video we published Friday afternoon) before running to close at its high of day at .016. It represented an intraday move of 30% and an overall increase of 227% over our observed low earlier this month.

We’ve drawn up another video demonstrating some of the PZOO chart highlights, and we’ve linked that below. In addition, Pazoo released another key PR this morning, and we’ve provided a link to that as well. We’d suggest our readers explore both links!

Options Trading

Apple Inc. AAPL & Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN were the subject of our options-trading ideas on Friday. In both cases we mentioned an interest in looking for dip-and-rip scenarios, and both stocks did indeed follow suit. Our ideas for trading Weekly Calls in each would have paid off handsomely for anyone who took the initiative.

AAPL reports earnings today, and is gapping up significantly in premarket trading so we’re going to be on the lookout for opportunities in the Weekly $130-132 Range as we kick off a fresh trading week.

Molycorp, Inc. MCP

Some of our regular followers will recall our entering MCP into our reports on April 8th, and regularly revisiting it since then. Following our initial alert on this play we observed a low of .48, and the stock continues to press to new highs.

On Friday, MCP hit a new high of 1.04, which marks an impressive 117% swing from this stock inside of the past two weeks.

Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ENZN

We flagged ENZN for tracking on Thursday, after noting that it is another stock in which billionaire investor Carl Icahn has a stake. The stock made notable 16% intraday move on Friday, and we want to keep it on continual watch moving forward.

We covered VLTC recently as it made a truly historic move as a result of Icahn’s involvement, and are anxious to monitor any stock that draws the interest of such a high-profile investor.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ZAZA Update & More

ZaZa Energy Corp. ZAZA

We tagged ZAZA last Thursday on the heels of an earnings beat, and at the time, we mentioned that we’d put the stock on watch for a classic dip-and-rip scenario.

While it took more than a full session for it to settle back and find support, it did so on Friday, bouncing off of the 2.87-mark. Yesterday ZAZA continued to trend off of that bottom and reached a subsequent high of 3.60. For us, that marks a three-day turnaround on ZAZA with possible gains of up to 25%

In order for us to remain interested in ZAZA, we’ll need to see support hold at or above the 50DMA of 3.24.

Geron Corp. GERN

We also want to make mention of GERN, which we put on watch Friday after the company announced it had licensed its cancer treatment to a unit of Johnson & Johnson in a contract that could reportedly be worth up to $935 million.

After seeing a low of 2.72 from GERN initially on Friday, the stock began to rebound up to yesterday’s high of 3.10. (+14%) and appears to be gapping up slightly in the premarket today.

Folks might be interested in tuning in to the live webcast of GERN presenting at the Stifel 2014 Healthcare Conference in New York,  NY today at 1:50 p.m. EST. Webcast link can be found at GERN’s Website, HERE >>>

Gainers From Yesterday’s Watchlist

NV5 Holdings, Inc. NVEE
NVEE made a decent move during yesterday’s session, trading in a positive range from 10.60-12.40, offering up the chance for a 19% intraday gain.

Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. FOLD
Another modest yet notable mover came in the form of FOLD, which increased from a low of 6.22 and reached 7.10, a move of 14%
