Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AMZN Review & More

LiNiu Technology Group, Inc. LINU

Among yesterday’s tracked stocks was LINU, which we signaled after noticing some abnormal volume and price action in the previous session.

While the stock didn’t necessarily break out in a big way, the intraday move it did make was reasonably solid. From a low of  1.79, it ran as high as 2.36 on the day, marking a 32% pop. The move came on 39X the monthly average volume, and the stock did hold more than half of its daily advance into a strong close.

With that kind of momentum built up, we’ll certainly want to let LINU remain on our radar in upcoming sessions and look for the continued establishment of higher highs and higher lows.

General Electric Corp. GE

We like the setup on the current GE chart, which as you can see from the included snapshot below, has been pounded down to new lows this week.

We’re always looking to track the potential recoveries of heavily oversold stocks, and GE is certainly in that category. There’s also a sizable gap from July which needs to be filled, as well as some insider buying being logged near these lows last week.

We’ll put this one on watch for what seems like an inevitable rebound, while signaling a pair of options contracts to add to our radars, the GE 11/17 $26 & $27 Calls.

Amazon.com Inc. AMZN

We also have to swing back around to pat ourselves on the back for our options ideas on AMZN, which we submitted on Monday morning.

We noted that the AMZN 10/06 $965-980 Calls should have some nice moves once the stock saw a reversal, and it turned out to be a good hunch. The $965’s traded from 19.25-27.00 (+40%), the $980’s went from 11.39-20.20 (+77%) and the five contracts in the range in between those two all made similar gains.

AMZN is gapping up in the premarket this morning, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see our overall observed gains increase further.

Dextera Surgical, Inc. DXTR

Starting a couple of weeks ago on the 16th, and then again midway through last week, we’ve been signaling DXTR, which was coming up off of recent relative lows just a few sessions earlier.

We wanted to quickly point out its performance over that span, which started from a low of .26 and has run up to new highs in premarket trading today. It’s thus far hit a high of .43, which works out to a respectable two-week swing of 65%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GYST Video, Other Updates

The Graystone Company GYST

Our first order of business this morning is to provide an update on GYST, which was the subject of our special report yesterday. If you did not catch our report, you can do so by hitting the following link >>GYST REPORT

To illustrate GYST’s performance during yesterday’s session, what better way to go over it than a video chart from our very own Stock Sumo! Click through to the video below, and also receive a quick lesson in understanding Level 2 quotes, which is vital for any beginning trader to take the next step!

>>GYST Video

The dip-and-rip we saw in GYST from .007 to .012 represented an intraday upswing of 71%, so, a very good first day of observation. As Stock Sumo was mentioning, we want to see GYST hold support at or above the channel between .0064-.007 on any pullbacks, and will look for an eventual break of resistance at .0125.

OTHER UPDATES:

Viva Entertainment Group, Inc. OTTV -We tagged OTTV in  Friday’s extended watchlist and we wanted to circle back this morning to mention the solid activity that followed from this stock over subsequent sessions.

On Friday, we observed a low of .0004 and witnessed a pretty nice 75% rip to .0007. As of yesterday, OTTV had extended its high to .001, and boosted our three-session observed upswing on the stock to a nice, round 150%
_____

Pilgrim Petroleum Corp. PGPM – For another quick update, we’ve witnessed a pretty good two-day swing in PGPM after alerting it in Tuesday’s premarket report, and observing a low of .011. Yesterday, the stock hit .0183, which was good for a respectable overall move of 66%

Dollar General Corp. DG

We want to leave off this morning with an earnings-related options idea. We’ve had a ton of success this earnings season, and will try to keep that going with Dollar General.

Not only did the company reveal a beat on sales and profits for the quarter, but the current chart setup was already primed for a bullish move. We’ll be putting the DG Weekly $75-78 Calls on watch for potential day and/or swing trades.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MNKD, VRX Recaps & More

MannKind Corp. MNKD

We tagged MNKD a week ago today in our premarket report on May 4th, and wanted to circle back around this morning to go over the excellent performance the stock has recorded since then. At the time the stock had been looking like it wanted to rebound after crashing down to a bottom and our decision to mention it turned out to be timed perfectly.

In each of the past five sessions MNKD has registered higher highs and higher lows, continuing to gain back ground that it had lost in previous weeks. From last Thursday’s low of .688, the stock has gone on to reach a high of 1.88, which represents an increase of 173% while volume over the same period has been impressive. The stock traded its highest volume since 2014 yesterday, so we’re really eager to continue tracking the activity in MNKD.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. VRX

Despite already showing us amazing single-session gains ranging from 380-3600% on Tuesday, which we recapped in yesterday’s premarket report, our options idea for the VRX chain, the Weekly $10.50-12 Calls saw even further advances once the session kicked off.

We’ve included the total possible intraday gains from yesterday’s session, as well as the overall gains from our observed lows on Tuesday morning.

$10.50 Calls
– Daily Range: 1.43-2.36 – Daily Gain: 65% – Total Range: .40-2.36 – Two-Day Swing: 490%
$11 Calls – Daily Range: .92-1.99 – Daily Gain: 116% – Total Range: .18-1.99 – Two-Day Swing: 1005%
$11.50 Calls – Daily Range: .53-1.42 – Daily Gain: 68% – Total Range: .08-1.42 – Two-Day Swing: 1675%
$12 Calls – Daily Range: .29-.99 – Daily Gain: 241% – Total Range: .02-.99 – Two-Day Swing: 4850%

Even though it’s not even close to our only percentage gainer in the thousands, this round of options calls with VRX is certainly going down as one of our most solid picks of the year so far. Even if someone had only bought shares in VRX stock itself, they could have been up just over 22% on this two-day swing.

Groupon, Inc. GRPN

We want to place GRPN on recovery watch after noticing the stock coming up off a double-bottom, with a gap on the chart to fill to the upside, as you can see on the included snapshot.

We like to monitor plays in this position, so we’ll put it on our radars in the days and weeks ahead. Given the look of this chart, we’d classify this as relatively low-risk, low-reward in comparison one of our average plays.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PIRS, Options Recaps & More

Pieris Pharmaceuticals, Inc. PIRS

We tagged PIRS in yesterday morning’s premarket report via the extended watchlist after the company released some press regarding a strategic partnership with pharma giant AstraZeneca. That’s all many traders needed to hear, as an incredible amount of buying came in, with volume on the order of more than 206 times the 30-day average.

That massive momentum gave PIRS a steady push in a bullish direction, as the stock rose from a low of 3.0299 to a high of 3.97, a solid intraday climb of 31% We would be quite surprised if that was last of the bullish activity in PIRS after such a big announcement and subsequent massive accumulation of shares.

Weight Watchers International, Inc. WTW – Options Recap

Our fresh options idea for the day yesterday was to track the WTW Weekly $24-25 Calls after noticing elevated post-earnings (out Tuesday) activity. Oprah’s association with the company that began at the end of 2015 has had a lasting positive effect and led to increased revenues and a heightened outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Were looking for these things to drive some movement in the contracts we were looking at, and that’s just what happened early on in the session. Any of the three sets of contracts within our highlighted range would have given traders the opportunity to bank multi-bag profits right from the opening bell. The following gains were up for grabs in the first 45 minutes of the session.

$24 Calls – Range: .52-1.33 – Max Gain: 156%
$24.50 Calls – Range: .40-.81 – Max Gain: 102%
$25 Calls – Range: .32-.65 – Max Gain: 103%

______________

DISH Network Corp. DISH – Options Recap

Our bearish options idea from Monday morning’s premarket report was to monitor the DISH 05/12 $62-60 Puts after noticing that not only did DISH have a disappointing earnings release, but that the chart was also looking top-heavy prior to that.

Our idea has worked out exceedingly well, whether traders took our suggestion to go with the contracts expiring next week as we listed, or simply went with the weeklies, which also made massive moves. Here are the potential gains that were up for grabs on our listed contracts:

$62 Puts
– Range: .40-1.48 – Max Gain: 270%
$61.50 Puts – Range: .40-.91 – Max Gain: 127%
$61 Puts – Range: .21-.50 – Max Gain: 138%
$60.50 Puts – Range: .26-.43 – Max Gain: 65%
$60 Puts – Range: .10-.50 – Max Gain: 400%

First NBC Bank Holding Co. FNBC

Monday, on FNBC we commented that “we’ll have to monitor this one for its bottom, but after it’s reached we could in in for a heck of a bounce”. That bottom came the very next day at .0932 and yesterday, the big bounce we were mentioning came to pass as FNBC rushed to a high of .35.

That works out to a fantastic two-day swing of 276% and with the stock gapping up slightly in the premarket today, we could see an extension of those gains.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: KMX Options Update & More

CarMax, Inc. KMX – Options Idea

We formulated several targets in the KMX options chain yesterday morning in accordance with the solid earnings beat and premarket gap-up we were observing.   We specified some medium and longer-term contracts with the KMX C$57.50 and $60 Calls, and the 05/19 $60-$65 Calls. We were more than pleased with the activity that ensued.

We’re usually pretty good with our targeting, and these ideas were no exception. Every single one of the contracts we mentioned provided traders with the chance for some very nice single-session gains.

04/21 $57.50 Calls – Range: .45-1.70 – Max Gain: 278%
04/21 $60 Calls – Range:  .17-.75 – Max Gain: 341%

05/19 $60 Calls – Range: .68-1.54 – Max Gain: 126%
05/19 $62.50 Calls – Range: .28-.82- Max Gain: 193%
05/19 $65 Calls – Range: .11-.38 – Max Gain: 245%

With that kind of activity on the very first day, we’re definitely going to want to keep these plays in mind going forward. There may yet be more opportunities still to come.

Akari Therapeutics, Plc. AKTX

We tagged AKTX in yesterday morning’s extended watchlist and saw a very nice intraday performance. It traded in a daily range from a low of 13.69 to a high of 18.46, which represents a 35% spike on the day.

That move came on more than thirteen times the three-month average volume. On the whole, the activity in AKTX was extremely impressive, especially for a stock in its price range. The stock failed to maintain the majority of its daily advance, but we’ll remain interested provided it can register a higher base level of support to close out the week today.

In Ovations Holdings, Inc. INOH

We’re going to begin monitoring this super-subpenny stock after it just reappeared with its first filings in quite some time; two quarterlies and an annual report can be found at the company’s OTC Market filings page (>>View Filings). The filings bring the company current on its financial reporting.

We’ve seen a number of triple-zero stocks make exponential gains in recent weeks, and want to take a flyer on INOH on the outside chance that it could be the next rocket to leave the launchpad!
