Putting a Cap on a Fruitful Short Week

Options Review:

We went bearish on the pair of options ideas that we highlighted for yesterday morning’s premarket report, and they posted some pretty nice intraday moves, considering the markets as a whole went on an impressive daily run.

Our areas of interest were the HELE 07/15 $160-150 Puts, and the SLP Weekly $55-50 Puts. Both ranges of contracts yielded two separate chances to pocket multibag proceeds on the day, with the SLP $50 Puts stealing the show on the strength of a massive four-bagger. Those potential gains were as follows:

HELE 07/15 $160-150 Puts
$160:
7.80-10.30 (+32%)
$155: 2.55-6.40 (+151%)
$150: 1.54-3.25 (+111%)
_____

SLP Weekly $55-50 Puts
$55: 1.60-4.00 (+150%)
$50: .15-.88 (+487%)

Fresh Options Ideas:
LEVI Weekly $17 Calls*
WDFC 07/15 $190-185 Calls

*Trading options on their day of expiration can carry a heightened level of risk and should only be attempted by seasoned traders.

United Maritime Corp. USEA – NASDAQ Recap:

Our daily extended watchlists are typically a mix of the stocks from both the upper and lower exchanges, and while we usually don’t see the type of quick gains USEA posted yesterday from a NASDAQ stock, it did post a solid daily run and is gapping up in premarket trading this morning. The stock traded for as little as 6.16 a share following yesterday’s alert, and this morning it has reached as high as 10.12 in early trading, which represents an overnight increase of 64%

Big Options Gainers, New Ideas & More

SPY, PEP Options Reviews:

Yesterday morning, in addition to providing an update on our running idea in the Pepsi options chain, we also included a fresh idea in the SPY. The markets ripped into the close, and facilitated some excellent intraday gain chances for both the PEP targets as well as our SPY ideas.

We’ve got fresh new highs on all of those, and in addition to a couple of earnings plays for new interests today, we’re also going to roll up to include some higher strike points for the SPY. Here are the two day gains on PEP and the single session moves on yesterday’s SPY calls:

PEP Weekly $149-152.50 Calls
$149:
 1.84-6.12 (+232%)
$150: 1.19-4.95 (+316%)

SPY 10/08 $430-431 Calls
$430:

Cyber Apps World, Inc. CYAP – Review:

4-Pack of Options Ideas

NIO, Inc. NIO

We tagged NIO for obserrvation to start the week on Monday, and it did end up making a notable run following that report. We saw a low of 10.70, and yesterday it hit a high of 15.28. That marks a three-session swing of 43% which we would consider decent volatility for a $10+ stock.

NIO did taper back into the close, but we will continue to monitor its activity. If it can continue to register higher lows, we won’t yet consider its run finished.

Fresh Options Ideas:

We were in an earnings dry spell for a few weeks there, but slowly we’re beginning to see more big names coming across the calendar. This morning for earnings ideas we’ve got our sights set on a bullish and one bearish target.

On Helen of Troy Ltd. HELE, which posted a solid beat, we’re going to focus on the HELE 07/17 $210-220 Calls.

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. WBA didn’t fare as well in the last quarter as was expected of it, and we’re feeling like a short in this case might be the way to go, so we’ll tag the WBA Weekly $42-40.50 Puts.
