Monday’s Watchlist: Options Ideas, Momentum Plays

Options Trading: Lululemon Athletica, Inc. LULU Calls

Last Monday, we mentioned an Options Trading idea, as we were looking at the LULU $65 Calls. We believed that LULU stock could head up past $67 and push toward the $68-level. On Wednesday, the $65 Calls were trading below .30. By Friday, we got the move that we were looking for out of the stock (hit high of 67.90), pushing those Calls as high as 2.80 as shown on the intraweek chart below.

This play was was a good example of why we like to monitor options contracts as they approach expiration, as they can exhibit some of their most volatile activity during that period. Even those who didn’t catch on until Friday could have walked away with up to 100% in intraday gains.

Celsion Corp. CLSN
&
OXiGENE, Inc. OXGN

Each of these stocks, after appearing in Friday morning’s extended watchlist would go on to perform well for the session:

CLSN traded from a low of 1.35, and spiked 15% to 1.55.

OXGN saw a daily range from a low of 3.31, and touching a high of 3.81 for a possible gain of 16%

TechnoConcepts, Inc. TCPS
&
TheDirectory.com, Inc. SEEK

Both of these stocks qualified as momentum plays last week, thus will be on our list of stocks to monitor as we begin the new trading week:

On Friday, TCPS traded in a big range from .008-.04 on roughly 4X its 3mo. average volume.

SEEK went on a run last week as well, and on Friday traded massive volume, to the tune of more than 10X the 3mo. average.

Options Trading Side Note:
Following tomorrow’s market close Apple earnings will be released, so we are eager to see how AAPL stock reacts to those figures. If they will fail to impress, we should see a dip followed by a bounce- should they exceed the Street’s expectations, we will likely be looking at a gap-up and run on Wednesday morning. Either way it shakes out, we will be looking to take advantage with properly timed Calls placed in the money.

Extended Watchlist:
IWEB, NRBT, BTG, BCRX

CLNO, IWEB & Extended Watchlist

Cleantech Transit, Inc. CLNO

New subscribers might not be familiar with CLNO, a stock that we rode for gains in excess of 5000% over a four month period this spring to early summer.

On Tuesday, we caught CLNO coming off of its 50DMA, and added it to our extended watchlist. After being as low as .12 at that time, it has managed to make higher highs and higher lows each day since.

Yesterday saw a high of .265 (+121%), and the stock closed strong at .26, just slightly below the HOD. As is usually the case when we see good momentum at the end of a session, we’ll want to keep CLNO on watch this morning for a continuation of the trend. We’ll need to see the stock test and overcome resistance at the previous swing high of .365, and from the look of the chart, there seems a fair chance of that occurring.

We can see the RSI is rumbling toward the power zone, and the MACD appears to be converging for a cross as the blue bars on the histogram prepare to flip up to the bullish side.

IceWEB, Inc. IWEB
We’ve been following IWEB all week long, and yesterday the stock continued to make higher highs and higher lows, closing at the high of day. Similarly to the previously mentioned play, IWEB is currently sporting a chart with several indicators pointing toward bullishness. In addition to breaking above the 100DMA yesterday, the RSI is making its way towards the power zone, and the Accumulation/Distribution has begun to pick up.

The previous swing high of .0355 is going to be an area of significant resistance. Should it break past that point, there’s easily a shot that the stock could find its way back to the 200DMA around the mid-.04 range.

For those who need to refresh their memory, we’ve been following IWEB since Tuesday of last week, when we released a special report on the stock after catching it coming off of its 52-week lows.

Extended Watchlist:
SNDY, AMS, CLSN, OXGN,

VHGI, Form-4 Scan & Extended Watchlist

VHGI is an old time favorite of ours (we’ve followed this play since back in 2011) that has crept back into focus. As we encourage our readers to do on a regular basis, we received some correspondence from a subscriber who wanted to be sure that we had noticed yesterday’s 8-K submission by the company. The report states that VHGI has obtained roughly $65 Million in new funding.

The chart is exhibiting some promising conditions as well, having made higher lows for the past four sessions. We’ve pointed to a couple other key indicators that would seem to suggest that it is a good time to begin monitoring VHGI more closely.

Form-4 Scan Vol.II
Most of you will recall our last Form-4 (Insider Trading) Scan back in May which yielded some pretty impressive results. It was that scan that first caused us to become familiarized with stocks such as CETV, and ETRM, which would each go on to produce gains of 30% or more.

We thought it was time for another round of checking for insider buying activity, which can often be a good indicator of the level of confidence an officer has in the future value of his/her company.

Zogenix, Inc. ZGNX,
The Wendy’s Company WEN,
Manhattan Bridge Capital, Inc. LOAN,
PRGX Global, Inc. PRGX

We are going to add these to the pool of stocks we are tracking, and see if they fare as well as our last batch of Form-4 plays.

CLSN, ASTI, MINE,

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PLUG, BIOF, PEIX & More

Yesterday we saw money leaving the Solar Sector from profit taking, and it seems we’ve found new stocks that are heating up quickly, in the Energy Sector.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG
PLUG first appeared in our reports back on February 15th. After being featured again in March 15th’s report, trading as low as .1161 at the time, and making its way up to .3177 by the 20th. That marked a gain of 174% Following that run, it pulled back to find support in the .15-range a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, the stock broke both the 100DMA (.28), its previous high at .3177, touched .3278, and closed just above the previous high at .318. We’d ideally like to see support hold at .318. Should it fall below that, we’ll need PLUG to hold support at .26-.285 in order for us to remain interested.

We’ve pointed out several key aspects of the chart below:

Continuing our theme of energy plays, here is a group that will be high on our watchlist today:
BIOF, PEIX, SCOK, FXEN,

BIOF and PEIX are some old-time favorites of ours in the ethanol sector. These two stocks generally tend to trend together, and have given us the opportunity for several gains over the long timespan we’ve covered them.

SCOK is a coal company that has recently gained some momentum, we want to keep an eye on that one today as well.

FXEN is a NASDAQ-listed energy play that also set off our scanners yesterday, as it enjoyed quite a fruitful trading session. Like the others, we want to keep an eye peeled for continuation of existing momentum.

We’d also like to congratulate ourselves for our stellar call of TCPS, which made a beauty of a run from .0025-.0061 (+144%), it then dipped back to .0045 and ran another 36% back to .0061, for cumulative intraday gains of 180%

It also made us the winners of yesterday’s Penny Stock Rumble:

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Brand New Pick Coming Tomorrow

Stay Tuned for Hot New Momentum Play Tomorrow!

We’ve got an intriguing stock that isn’t quite ready to be released today, but we’ve estimated that by tomorrow morning, it will be ripe for the picking. We’ve thus decided to hold off on bringing any fresh symbols to your attention today, in anticipation of tomorrow’s big play.

In the meantime, we thought we’d take a look back at couple of our recent successes:

SCXN | Scout Exploration, Inc
:
We’ve been following SCXN since December. On December 18th, a day following our initial alert, it was trading as low as .15. By February 5th, the stock had hit a high of .40, a move of 166% Following that run-up, SCXN dipped back to the .15-range by March 4th.

Yesterday’s news (below) caused a flourish of buying, and once again, the stock surged back to .40, mirroring its earlier performance. Currently .40 remains our key area of resistance, a break past which point is needed in order for us to see some more upside.

ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND–(Marketwired – Apr 22, 2013) – Scout Exploration Inc. (SCXN) has acquired the rights to an airborne, oil spill response system currently under development at IDS Offshore Inc., of St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Growth in offshore drilling between Q1 2011 and Q4 2012 represents an expanding market for the Scout IDS Airborne Spill Response System.

During the 24 months between January 2011 and December 2012 the contracted offshore rig count grew by approximately 100 units, an increase of nearly 20% and now stands at an 85.2% fleet utilization rate.

Have a look at this report we ran across on SCXN

TFER | Titan Iron Ore Corp:
We caught TFER last week as it was coming off of its 52-week low, was as low as .095. When we originally alerted the stock, we were looking for a break of the resistance at .12 (20DMA), also noting that the next resistance would come at the 50DMA of .15. For those of you who missed those original alerts, you can view that report here along with included video chart.

The last three trading sessions, we’ve been bumping our heads against resistance at .145, and maintaining support at .13. It appears as if we are basing for our next leg up. Current resistance, as well as the next patch at .15 must be broken for us to remain interested.
