Wednesday’s Winners, 4 More Potential Plays

Recapping Wednesday’s Winners:

We made some good progress with the potential options plays we highlighted in yesterday morning’s premarket report. Everything we signaled in the near-term recorded some pretty good intraday movement. As far as the May calls we targeted on INTC, we’ll have to wait a little longer to possibly see that idea come to fruition. Everything else worked out rather well, and we expect that trend to continue as we start to come out of this earnings dry spell of the past few weeks. In the case of the SPY Puts we formulated, two out of the three contract sets in the range we designated say intraday run of more than a thousand percent!

The three runners from yesterday’s report were the SPY 04/10 $515-513 Puts, the DAL Weekly $48.50-49.50 Calls, and the PSMT 04/19 $85 Calls. These were the daily performances they logged for the session:

Going Bearish on Earnings Reporters

Options Review:

We’ve been back on our Midas Touch options trading business over the last several sessions, and yesterday morning was no different. We were just patting ourselves on the back for 100% accuracy on the previous session’s bangers, and we managed to do it again to start this holiday-shortened week.

We signaled ranges on a couple of plays, highlighting the SPY 11/22 $469-470 Calls, as well as going short on the CRNC 12/17 $105-95 Puts. Both turned out to be excellent notions, and the board was fully green for yet another day. The end of this week will be rather subdued, with a day off for Thanksgiving and just a half trading day for Black Friday, so it’s good we’re getting these in now.

Here are the total possible profits that could have been banked off of yesterday’s targets:

SPY 11/22 $469-470 Calls
$469:
 1.99-4.50 (+126%)
$470: .62-2.40 (+287%)
_____

CRNC 12/17 $105-95 Puts
$105: 15.00-22.46 (+50%)
$100: 9.70-18.20 (+88%)
$95: 6.00-13.49 (+125%)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Perfectly-Timed Bottom Plays & More

Allakos, Inc. ALLK –  Recap

We began tracking ALLK on Monday morning, and formulated some options ideas ($45-60) which worked for us in Monday’s session, bringing in some nice gain opportunities. Then yesterday rolled around and we shared the huge news reported by the company in our premarket report along with the gains that our options ideas made.

The news on ALLK proved to be very influential on the activity of the stock, pushing it even further than Monday’s big surge had taken it. From the low that morning of 60.34, ALLK has run all the way up to a new high yesterday at 85.40, which marked a two-day upswing of 42%

While the lower end of our tracked options range was too deep in the money to see any real progress, the $60 Calls remained in play, and hit a high of 23.82. From our observed low of 6.75 on Monday, those contracts rose by a whopping 253%
_____

We also signaled interest in the Innovative Industrial Properties, Inc. IIPR 08/16 $100-105 Calls
yesterday, and those got off to a modest, yet promising start. The $100’s traded in a range from 6.50-7.90 for a rise of 22%, while the $105’s ran 23% from 4.50-5.90. We’ll continue to monitor these ideas into their expiration next week.

Fresh Ideas:
CVS Weekly $55.50-57 Calls
SPY Weekly $286-285 Puts

Durect Corp DRRX

We also want to highlight the incredible performance that DRRX has had this summer to finish things up this morning. We tagged the stock for observation on May 28th, at which time we observed a low of .50, and it turned out to be a great nbottom call, as it hasn’t looked back since.

Slow and steady growth over the past two months has brought DRRX to a new high of 1.44 this week. That represents an overall increase of 188% in the time we’ve been observing this play.

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. BONT

We tagged BONT on Thursday morning, at which time we observed a low of .68 in the stock. After a solid first session, we reiterated the tag in Friday’s report and the stock came out of the starting gate like a bolt. It traded all the way up to 1.15 before tapering back, but not before completing a two-day swing of 69% for us.

The stock’s presently hovering around a dollar, so we’ll be watching as the new trading week kicks off this morning to see if BONT can manage to string together a third session of higher highs and higher lows.
