Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DAL Options & More

Delta Airlines Inc. DAL

Despite a tumultuous day for the markets yesterday, and mostly everything taking on a bearish characteristic, we’re still going to go bullish on DAL in the wake of the company’s quarterly earnings report released this morning.

Despite rising fuel costs, the company revealed that profits soared well past expectations as a result of increased demand leading to higher ticket prices.

As we always try to do when a company posts a solid beat, we’ll designate a range of options to place on watch, in this case the DAL Weekly $49.50-52 Calls. We’ll go ahead and track these into the end of the week. DAL stock was already oversold, getting hammered for weeks, so this report may be just the catalyst needed to effect an impressive reversal.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

We had great success with the SPY earlier this week, and we want to come back to it this morning in the wake of the markets getting crushed yesterday. With the amount of uncertainty and potential volatility out there, we want to set ourselves up to have an active idea no matter which way the winds blow.

Should the SPY fall below $276, we will target the SPY Weekly $277 & $276 Puts. If it pulls above $276 we will focus on the $276 and $277 Calls, so either way, we should be able to quickly identify the proper course once trading commences. .

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HEAR Review & More

Turtle Beach Corp. HEAR – Review

Our primary focus has always been to find near-term trading opportunities first, assigning longer-term calls a secondary priority. However, we’ve had quite a bit of good fortune this year in identifying stocks that have gone on to have considerable extended runs.

HEAR is one such stock, that we first signaled for observation on April 9th, at which time the stock was trading for as little as 2.76. Over the ensuing nine weeks, we have seen an incredible, near-continuous bull run that has resulted in new highs of 23.20 yesterday. That works out to an increase of 740% over a span of a little over two months!

Being in blue skies, there’s no telling what new highs we might see in HEAR; it’s certainly plausible to believe we may see our total observed gain reach a thousand percent at some point in the near future. At the rate things have been going, it’s certainly not an unreasonable thought.

H&R Block, Inc. HRB – Fresh Idea

We also want to provide a quick update on our bearish options idea from yesterday’s premarket report, the HRB Weekly $26-24 Puts. We formulated this range after noticing the stock getting kicked hard despite posting an earnings beat in the post-market on Tuesday.

HRB did gap down a little too far for the $26’s to see much action, but we had respectable chances to profit off of the other two contracts in the range. The $25 Puts ran from .65-1.05 for a gain of 62%, while the $24’s put up a double-bag performance with a 133% rip from .15-.35.

Galectin Therapeutics, Inc. GALT

We tagged GALT on Tuesday morning after noticing a big surge in activity, and its run has continued nicely over the course of the week.

We’ve now observed a solid 37% bullish move from 5.83-8.00, and will be on the lookout for the possibility of more new highs.

Blue Horseshoe Stock: More Options Success

General Motors Co. GM

We went very options heavy in our report yesterday morning, updating our readers on the success of ideas we had earlier in the week, and also including a pair of fresh ideas, GM Weekly $40-42 Calls.

We’re pleased to report that all five of the contracts in our designated range produced the opportunity for tangible intraday profits.

$21 Calls – Range: 1.61-2.73 – Max Gain: 70%
$21.50 Calls – Range: 1.00-2.22 – Max Gain: 122%
$22 Calls – Range: .73-1.70 – Max Gain: 133%
$21.50 Calls – Range: .42-1.26 – Max Gain: 200%
$22 Calls – Range: .18-.85 – Max Gain: 372%

_____

Burlington Stores, Inc. BURL

Also freshly formulated in yesterday’s report was our idea for the BURL Weekly $141-144 Calls, and we were not disappointed on that front either. While the bottom half of the range was pushed too deep into the money for any serious activity, we quickly zeroed in on the top performers, the $143 and $144 Calls.

The $143’s managed a huge run from 1.45-5.80, marking an intraday surge of 300% while the $144‘s posted a range of 1.40-4.00, which works out to a 186% rip.
