Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TSLA Options Recap & More

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options

Despite another choppy day for the markets as a whole, we were able to find a diamond in the rough with our TSLA Options Idea in Thursday’s premarket report.

As the stock was gapping up, we identified the possibility of some dip-and-rip scenarios occurring in weekly TSLA $275-280 Calls and that’s precisely what we got. There was some extremely impressive action with the $275’s and $277.50’s in particular, that could’ve provided traders with exponential gains.

The $275 Calls jumped out of the starting gate and went on an initial run from 5.00 to 7.60 (+52%) in the first couple minutes of the session. The dip-and-rip we were after provided an even bigger opportunity as the contracts reached a midday low of .78 before rebounding, and absolutely exploded back to a 5.10 close. That marked a second intraday rip of 554%

The $277.50’s traded in a similar pattern; the initial move was from 3.20 to 5.40 (+69%), and their dip took them to a low of .21 before re-launching as high as 3.00 into the close. That was a mind-boggling 1329% rip.

NuGene International, Inc. NUGN

NUGN has been an ongoing point of interest for us over the past few weeks; we alerted the stock in the third week of June, and at that time, observed a 2.67 swing-low. Since then, the chart has been on a steady incline, surging as much as 47% as it hit a high of 3.88 on both Wednesday and Thursday.

We’ll be looking for the possibility of the stock cracking through that resistance to continue its uptrend into this week.

There’s a fresh PR coming off of the wire this morning as well:

IRVINE, Calif., July 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — NuGene International, Inc. Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Wrapping Up the Short Week

American Green, Inc. ERBB

As we prepare to adjourn for the long holiday weekend, we want to circle back to an alert we issued on Monday regarding ERBB’s status as a potential bottom-bounce play. The resulting action fit neatly into that category, and all in all the stock went on to log solid move for the week.

It began with an initial dip to .0037 Monday, where the rebound began to occur. Yesterday the stock registered a high of .0045; that hashes out to a solid three-session swing of 22%

With the stock closing at .0042 yesterday, maintaining a good portion of its advances, we’ll want to keep a spot reserved on our watchlist for ERBB. We’ll look for it to continue registering higher highs and higher lows, and maintain support at the .0037-.004 range, eventually breaking back above resistance at .005.

Pervasip Corp. PVSP

PVSP is an old favorite favorite of ours; we tracked it over more than a thousand-percent gain early this year, as well as a nice 66% intraweek swing at the time of our last mention in the 1st week of June. The stock has been heating up again this week, with the PPS cracking above the 50DMA (.0014) yesterday, and managing a strong close one tick above at its high of day at .0015.

We’re going to look for the stock to make a strong finish to this short week, and keep our ears to the tracks for the forthcoming acquisition update promised in Monday’s letter to shareholders.  Apparently PVSP is putting the finishing touches on obtaining “a revenue-producing retail distribution company servicing the hydroponic and indoor grow facility market in Denver, Colorado. so we’ll be keen to receive further information on that when it becomes available.

Definitive Rest Mattress Co. DRMC

We wanted to recap the action on DRMC following its appearance in yesterday’s morning report. The stock executed a dip-and-rip pattern around midday that carried it over a range from .0027-.0035; an intraday move of +30%  This occurred on almost 3x the monthly average volume, but in and of itself the volume was still relatively light. A pickup in buying pressure could really send DRMC for a ride, so we’ll keep watch for that, and for the stock to continue maintaining support above the 50DMA.

SPY Options Update

On Tuesday, we formulated an idea for trading SPY options on the heels of some market pressure caused by the uncertainty surrounding the current situation in Greece. We would look at 205.50-207 Puts and Calls until a trend was firmly established, and then determine our course of action. When the SPY found support above the 200DMA and began to rebound, that’s when we were able to identify the Call-side as the way to play, and the bulk of the action came in the $207’s during yesterday’s session.

There were multiple swings of significant magnitude which provided potential gains. First, from .90-1.26 (40%), followed by another from .75-1.00 (33%), and a third which ranged from .66-1.05 (59%). That worked out to a cumulative total of 132%  for the day.

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options

Yesterday, those of our readers following our recent coverage of TSLA were once again presented with opportunities coming out of the 05/22 $230-240 Calls that we’ve been monitoring since Friday. TSLA registered a higher high and a higher low for the fifth consecutive session, topping out at 248.30. As a result, the total possible gains on our initial calls were pushed even further into the green, so we wanted to provide an update on those figures:

$230 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 6.85 – Yesterday’s High: 17.95 – Max Gain: 162%

$232.50 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 5.32 – Yesterday’s High: 16.90 – Max Gain: 217%

$235 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 5.96 – Yesterday’s High: 13.95 – Max Gain: 134%

$237.50 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 3.16 – Yesterday’s High: 12.00  – Max Gain: 280%

$240 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 3.84 – Yesterday’s High: 10.50 – Max Gain: 173%

These moves are a perfect example of what draws us to options trading; with just a 6% increase in TSLA stock, we’ve witnessed huge gains across the board in the options chain. These contracts don’t expire until next Friday, so we’ll keep our fingers on TSLA’s pulse until that time.

AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ACRX

Popping up on our scanner this morning is a play that has both an interesting chart as well as a blockbuster PR out today that is leading to a gap-up in premarket trading (3.30-3.80’s).

We’re catching the stock as it comes up off of a relative bottom, and as we point out on the snapshot below, there are several attractive features of the current ACRX chart.

Couple that with this morning’s revelation of a contract the company has struck with the US Dept. of Defense, and ACRX becomes instantly worthy of our attention as the week draws to a close.

Discovery Laboratories, Inc. DSCO

Speaking of pharma stocks with fresh news, DCSO is also cropping up on our scanner this morning. Like the aforementioned play, this morning/s PR is resulting in a gap-up, and we’ll want to have our eyes peeled for potential advantageous activity on the chart once the session commences.

According to the release, Phase II testing of its AEROSURF® product has yielded “encouraging safety and physiological data suggest that aerosolized KL4 surfactant can be delivered to the lung of premature infants with respiratory distress syndrome”

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TSLA Sustains Uptrend & More

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options

TSLA registered its fourth consecutive session of higher highs and higher lows yesterday. In our morning report, we had just finished congratulating those of our readers who took advantage of the options trading ideas we ventured (05/22 $230-240 Calls). Returns ranging from 78-140% were made possible between Friday and Monday, and yesterday’s performance extended those opportunities even further. We could see a continuance of that pattern into today as well.

News coming down the TSLA presswire has likely contributed to the strength of this run, with the State of Maryland giving the company the green light for four direct-sales outlets in the state, a major victory for the burgeoning automaker. >>LEARN MORE

With all that having been said, with TSLA’s PPS settling in the high $244-range upon yesterday’s close and breaching the $248 mark in this morning’s premarket trading, we’re going to want to roll our range of monitored contracts up for action that’s closer to the money.

Should TSLA continue its bullish patterns, we’ll be scanning 05/22 $240-250 Calls for quick-strike chances just like the ones we’ve already witnessed.

Gevo, Inc. GEVO

On Thursday of last week, we caught GEVO as it made a great run from a low of 3.28 that day to 7.26 the following day; allowing us to close out the week with a premium chance at up to 122% in profits.

Following that impressive move we mentioned that we wanted to see the stock hold at the 200DMA of 4.90 upon pulling back, and while the stock wasn’t quite able to do so, support ultimately came Monday at a low of 4.43.

We want to eye GEVO once again this midweek as premarket activity is carrying the stock past mid-$5 range.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Winning TSLA Calls, VGGL Recap & More

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options

On Friday we mentioned some longer-term options-trading ideas for TSLA Calls, and it didn’t take more than a couple trading days for them to bear fruit.

As our regular readers are aware by now, we often like to monitor an entire range of strike prices following a key development, and TSLA’s earnings release last midweek provided the fuel for our success in this case. We pointed to 05/22 $230-240 Calls, and every set of contracts in that range made a sizable run from their lows on Friday to impressive highs during yesterday’s session. Here’s a breakdown of their performances:

$230 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 6.85 – Yesterday’s High: 13.50 (Closed: 10.30) – Max Gain: 97%

$232.50 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 5.32 – Yesterday’s High: 11.25 (Closed: 8.65) – Max Gain: 111%

$235 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 5.96 – Yesterday’s High: 10.60 (Closed: 8.70) – Max Gain: 78%

$237.50 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 3.16 – Yesterday’s High: 7.60 (Closed: 5.00) – Max Gain: 140%

$240 Calls  – Friday’s Low: 3.84 – Yesterday’s High: 7.50 (Closed: 5.75) – Max Gain: 95%

We are pleased with the progress we’ve seen thus far in these contracts, and we’re interested to see what the next nine trading days will bring leading up to their expiration.

Viggle, Inc. VGGL

Our next order of business this morning is to point out the solid move made by VGGL after we included the stock in yesterday morning’s extended watchlist. Catalyzed by favorable quarterly results (link below), it traded in a range from 3.00 to 4.24; a very respectable intraday move of 41%.

The spike came on roughly 25X the 3-month average volume and VGGL managed to close in the mid-3.70’s, holding the majority of its daily gains. Whenever we see a confluence of these two phenomena, we always want to keep our eyes peeled for a carryover of momentum into subsequent sessions.

52% Year-over-Year Revenue Growth and 116% Increase in Net Registered Users as Viggle Celebrates Its Three-Year Anniversary (Mon, May 11)

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

Our longer-term subscribers might remember the epic run we tracked in PLUG when we caught the stock coming off its all-time lows near a dime back in 2013. The lowest price we observed following our initiation of coverage on this play was .135 on 02/28/13. It led us on a long and exciting journey to a high of 11.72 nearly a year later, and from then on has held a spot on our list of all-time best calls.

More recently, in 2015, PLUG has been on an overall downtrend that carried the stock to new annual low of 2.32. Yesterday, we observed PLUG coming up off of those lows and hitting a high of 2.65, so we’re going to re-radar this as a potential recovery play. If it can crack through the 50DMA of 2.66, we could be in line to see a more sustained uptrend.

We’ve illustrated the key resistance points on the following chart snapshot:
