Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Potential Bottom-Plays & More

 Bottom-Watch Plays

We want to start things off this morning by highlighting a couple of stocks on the higher exchanges that are both currently trading at a low multiple. Stocks that trade on the NASDAQ and NYSE at less than a dollar per share for at least a month can face de-listing procedures, so companies in danger of this tend to go to great lengths to buoy their stock price.

We’re always on the lookout for possible bottom plays so we’re going to be tracking both of the following in coming sessions.

Cobalt International Energy, Inc. CIE – The de-listing alarm bells haven’t quite gone off yet at with CIE, as the PPS just fell below a buck toward the end of last month. The stock also has a recent track record of brief periods of sub-1.00 trading from which it has promptly recovered each time.

This leads us to believe that the company may not even get to the point of receiving a notice from the NYSE before share price sees a recovery. We’re going to want to be on the lookout for that potential rebound.

______

Alliqua Biomedical, Inc. ALQA – In the case of ALQA, a NASDAQ play, the situation is a bit more pressing. Shares fell below the dollar mark at the beginning of September, and the company did receive its ‘failure to satisfy listing requirement’ notice back in October. The PPS has lagged ever since, and has only until the end of April to re-attain the dollar mark, or face delisting.

We’ll be interested to follow along to see what efforts are untaken to once again satisfy listing requirements. In the meantime, the stock has found a reasonably solid base of support off of recent lows, so we’ll be on the lookout for possible rebounds.

Viacom, Inc. VIAB – Options Idea

Our regular readers know full well that we love a good earnings-related options idea, and that’s what we’ve got this morning with Viacom. The company just posted an impressive earnings beat, along with strategic guidance updates that has the stock rocking in the premarket.

We’re going to be keeping our eyes open upon the opening bell, and tracking the activity in the VIAB Weekly $44-45.50 Calls.

Lithium Exploration Group, Inc. LEXG

We’ve been tracking the activity in LEXG for quite a time, and the volatility and price action in this play has provided for us on more than one occasion.

Yesterday was yet another of those occasions, with the stock putting in a solid performance. LEXG traded in a range from .0036-.0045, an intraday move of 25% which came on a little over thrice the monthly average volume.

The moves we’ve seen since putting LEXG on watch in December have been significantly more impressive as well. We saw a low of .0013 around the holidays, putting our overall observed increase in just over three weeks at 246%

Options Ideas

We’ve been so wrapped up in tracking various stocks over the first couple weeks of 2017, that the following will be our first options ideas of the year!

Netflix, Inc. NFLX –  NFLX has been generally trending upward for around two months, hitting new all-time highs this week. Yesterday’s earnings and updates, including the fact that the streaming giant had added a record 7 million new subscribers over the last quarter.

We want to potentially take advantage of a continued run, even if its preceded by a dip-and-rip pattern. As long as it holds support above the $139 mark, we’re going to interested in tracking the NFLX Weekly  $139-143 Calls.

_____

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – TSLA is another big board stock that has been on a bullish tear of late. The stock has been stacking gains on top of gains over the past 6 weeks.

This morning, it received an upgrade from Morgan Stanley, and we’ll hope to use that added attention to see some more good moves in the stock. Accordingly, we’ll have the TSLA Weekly $240-245 Calls on watch today and tomorrow.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: EXMT Recap, Options & More

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options Idea

With Tesla posting a big earnings beat yesterday post-market, we’re going to want to signal a range of corresponding options calls to potentially capitalize on this untraded-upon development.

We’ve used the TSLA chain to leverage huge options opportunities in the past, and it would seem that conditions are setting up to give us another good chance at some sizable gains this week. We’re going to focus in on the TSLA Weekly $207.50-212.50 Calls for possible daytrade and/or intraweek swing trade possibilities.

Anything Technologies, Inc. EXMT – EXMT was the standout of the bunch from our morning report yesterday. It was an opportune time to revisit the stock, which we hadn’t mentioned in one of our newsletters since early 2014.

The stock traded in a solid range from .0012 to a high of .0026 for a move of 117% and did so on approximately nine times its monthly average volume. Such activity is more than enough to earn it a continued slot on our watchlist.
_____

IMD Companies, Inc. ICBU – This play that we signaled for observation a week ago today has also been recording solid performances this week, and is related to the aforementioned play in that it is captained by the same CEO.

The stock found its low on Monday at .0033, and has since made one heck of a rebound. Yesterday the stock hit a penny even, marking an intraweek pop of 203%
_____

Dominovas Energy Corp. DNRG – Also appearing in yesterday’s report was DNRG, a stock we’ve been actively tracking for well over a year now.

It had been a few months since we last touched upon this play, so the timing here was quite good as well. The stock made a good move from .0022-.0032 on the day, for gains of up to 45%

Tesla Motors Corp. TSLA – Options Update

Our bearish sentiment on TSLA yesterday ended up working in our favor quite well, as the intraday volatility provided traders with not one but three chances to execute lucrative swing trades.  Our specified target range was the TSLA Weekly $200-195 Puts; those three opportunities on the day extended to all three sets of contracts, and were as follows:

$200 Puts – 4.45-8.45 (+55%), 4.15-7.50 (+81%), 4.36-6.35 (+46%)

$197.50 Puts – 4.06-6.35 (+56%), 2.83-5.39 (+90%), 2.83-4.51 (+59%)

$195 Puts – 2.44-5.13 (+110%),1.87-3.81 (+104%), 1.70-2.89 (+70%)

Amid the bombshell that Britain passed a referendum effecting its exit from the European Union (at least a two year process), world markets in general are all feeling the strain at present. TSLA has hit a low of $186 in the premarket, so our observed contracts all stand to produce further gains this morning.

To get ourselves a little closer to the heaviest action in the event of a continued backslide for TSLA, we may consider rolling down our strike range to include the $192.50 and $190 Puts as well.
______

FRESH OPTIONS IDEAS:

As we’ve done many times before when attempting to use overall market conditions to our advantage, we’re going to be tracking some SPY Calls for potential daytrades. As long as the SPY can hold above $200, we could be in line to see some major volatility in the SPY Weekly $200-205 Calls. As always, we must issue a strong note of caution with regard to trading weekly contracts on a Friday. It should only ever be attempted by advanced-level traders!

We also want to submit another familiar face for a potential play with much less urgency. For a longer-term idea, we’ll be putting the PBR 07/15 $6.50 and $7 Calls on our radar.

Gold Watchlist:

We also want to provide our readers with a smattering of gold-related stocks to watch this morning. Currencies are taking a big hit, which usually means an influx of investor confidence in precious metals. As such, we will naturally look to plays like these for quick-hit opportunities:

LODE, PGLC, VGZ, XRA,TRX, GORO

Extended Watchlist:
PXYN, NHMD, DLCR, EMES, ENDV(Bottom bouncer)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Updates & More

Shire plc SHPG – Options Update

The idea that we formulated earlier in the week with regard to the SHPG options chain has already provided us with gain opportunities, but the gap up we’re seeing this morning could really make things interesting. Just to refresh your memory, our target range was the SHPG Weekly $175-180 Calls.

With the stock gapping up big-time, having already hit a high of 185.00 in the premarket, anyone who entered one or more of these contracts prior to this morning will be in line to reap some serious profits right out of the gate.

Our observed lows for each set of contracts was as follows: $175 – 2.60, $177.50 – 3.00, $180 – 1.65. With every one currently being pushed deep into the money, it will be interesting to see the subsequent highs that are recorded today.

We feel it’s generally a good idea to lock in profits on a gap-up, just in case the stock retraces and fills the gap.

______

FRESH OPTIONS IDEA:

Tesla Motors Corp. TSLA – Tesla took a gut-punch yesterday as Tuesday’s post-market announcement of its offer to purchase SolarCity met mixed reviews, and appears to be setting up for further backsliding.

Should this bearish trend persist into today’s trading session, we’ll be very interested in tracking the activity of
the TSLA Weekly $200-195 Puts.

BioScrip, Inc. BIOS

We also want to provide a brief update on BIOS, a stock we alerted on Friday just in the nick of time to catch a nice uptrend. From a low of 2.23 that day, the stock has recorded higher highs and higher lows every session since, culminating in a new high of 2.87 yesterday. That works out to a respectable four-session boost of 29%

We still like the look of the BIOS chart, which is showing hints of potential for further moves to the upside. Key resistance is sitting at the previous swing high of 3.10, so we’ll be on the lookout for a breach of that level,.
