Big Name Earnings Plays & More

Options Reviews:

Things got off to a pretty lackluster start to the week yesterday. While both of our selected options ideas in our premarket report did record positive intraday movement, the level of the gains they achieved didn’t really rise to our particularly high standards. Today should be a lot more exciting, with a much more interesting crop of earnings reporters.

Yesterday’s targets were the PHG 05/19 $22.50 Calls, and the KO Weekly $65 Calls, and the daily moves they made are as follows. We also have an update on the NTLA 05/19 $35-40 Calls, which we put on our radar back on the 10th, and subsequently made a really nice move.

Huge Stock Moves & More

Rite Aid Corp. RAD – Review

We were just talking about RAD in our premarket report from last Friday, and we wanted to close out this week by bring up the very respectable run it has produced. The morning of our report, the stock saw a low of 12.11, and subsequently registered a new high yesterday at 19.22 (+59%). As of the premarket high of 22.44 established in the premarket this morning, we’ve witnessed a one-week run of 85% from Rite Aid.

We’re also going to signal a couple of different sets of options ideas to track in the RAD chain over the next week, and beyond. We’re going to radar the RAD 1/03 $21-23 Calls, as well as the RAD 04/17 $27-30 Calls.

Other Updates

We also wanted to highlight some mega-moves made by stocks we’ve placed on watch recently, once again proving conclusively that options aren’t our only forte.

We tagged Clearside Biomedical, Inc. CLSD in our extended watchlist on October 18th, and witnessed a low of .75 the following day. The stock has been gradually ramping its way up in the several weeks since then, continually registering new highs, of which it hit 3.95 yesterday. That’s an incredible increase of 427%
____

We put Oncolytics Biotech, Inc. ONCY on watch back on November 14th, and have watched as the stock began to edge its way up, before absolutely exploding over the last week. Our observed range on this one in just over a month has been .82-2.92, a gain of 256%
____

Many of our longer term readers will remember how significant the gains were out of OWC Pharmaceutical Research Corp. OWCP as we first came across it at the end of 2016 when it went on a mega run from subpenny levels to over 2.00. When it appeared in yesterday’s watchlist it was time to start paying close attention to it again. OWCP made a 94% intraday move yesterday from a low of .028 to a high of .0543. Volume has been ramping up the last few sessions and with this type of momentum, we’ll definitely continue to keep an eye on it.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NBEV Recap & More

New Age Beverages Inc. NBEV

Our first order of business this morning is to rehash the performance of NBEV this week, subsequent to our initial alert on the play on Tuesday morning. It was enough of a heads-up to catch the stock at its weekly low of 1.53, which has given way to new highs after a pair of very strong outings.

Yesterday NBEV reached a new high of 2.40, which marks a two-session swing amounting to a respectable 57% We’ll be sure to continue to monitor the situation in the event that the stock parlays its strong start to the short week into an equally convincing finish.

Despite then closing below, the stock has been rebolstered in the premarket, having already traded back as high as yesterday’s peak at 2.40. If this stock can break through the channel of resistance between 2.40-2.58, we could see some more very interesting activity from this play.

Fresh Options Ideas:

We’ve got an earnings related options idea with GIII this morning, and are also taking note of the chart setups on FB and TWTR, which are presently exhibiting double bottom formations as they search for solid support. Each also has a gap to the upside, so we’re going to signal some extended term ideas to track.

GIII 09/21 $45 & 50
FB 10/12 $182.50-190 Calls
TWTR 10/12 $35-37.50 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: LULU Recap & More

Lululemon Athletica LULU – Recap

If you have been following our newsletters for any significant period of time, you know that we’ve been hitting home runs left and right in the options trading arena. We offered up a range of contracts in the LULU chain to watch on Friday on the heels of the company’s earnings drop, the LULU Weekly $149-152.50 Calls.

Unsurprisingly, we saw some very nice activity out of those plays to close out what had already been another successful week for options.

$149 Calls – Range: 5.35-10.70 – Max Gain: 100%
$150 Calls – Range: 5.00-10.75 – Max Gain: 115%

______

Another very notable move from the plays we were watching last week came from the SPY $290 Calls which experienced a significant dip and rip, trading as low as .06 before closing at .65, an intraday rise of 983%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TSLA Sustains Uptrend & More

Tesla Motors, Inc. TSLA – Options

TSLA registered its fourth consecutive session of higher highs and higher lows yesterday. In our morning report, we had just finished congratulating those of our readers who took advantage of the options trading ideas we ventured (05/22 $230-240 Calls). Returns ranging from 78-140% were made possible between Friday and Monday, and yesterday’s performance extended those opportunities even further. We could see a continuance of that pattern into today as well.

News coming down the TSLA presswire has likely contributed to the strength of this run, with the State of Maryland giving the company the green light for four direct-sales outlets in the state, a major victory for the burgeoning automaker. >>LEARN MORE

With all that having been said, with TSLA’s PPS settling in the high $244-range upon yesterday’s close and breaching the $248 mark in this morning’s premarket trading, we’re going to want to roll our range of monitored contracts up for action that’s closer to the money.

Should TSLA continue its bullish patterns, we’ll be scanning 05/22 $240-250 Calls for quick-strike chances just like the ones we’ve already witnessed.

Gevo, Inc. GEVO

On Thursday of last week, we caught GEVO as it made a great run from a low of 3.28 that day to 7.26 the following day; allowing us to close out the week with a premium chance at up to 122% in profits.

Following that impressive move we mentioned that we wanted to see the stock hold at the 200DMA of 4.90 upon pulling back, and while the stock wasn’t quite able to do so, support ultimately came Monday at a low of 4.43.

We want to eye GEVO once again this midweek as premarket activity is carrying the stock past mid-$5 range.
