Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AUPH Update, Options & More

Aurinia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AUPH

We’ve been tracking AUPH in the roughly seven weeks since our mention of it on January 27th, and for a stock that started out at lows of 2.95 subsequent to that report, it sure has been quite a ride.

We followed it all the way to a high of 10.54 last week, which was an increase of 257% over our observed low. As is expected when a stock sees such a sharp rise in such a short period, AUPH did begin to consolidate, but that was only in preparation of another nice swing. From 7.51, where it ultimately found support, AUPH went on to reach 9.83 yesterday, which marks a 31% upswing on the rebound.

It’s the volatility in AUPH, which has been terrific for a stock in its price range, that makes it such an interesting stock to watch, and we’ll continue to have it on our radars moving forward.

Fresh Options Ideas  – We’ve got a trio of options ideas this morning that are earnings-related. Solid earnings generally give stocks a sizable enough boost to provide great opportunities in the options chain. It’s a phenomenon we’ve observed time and time again, so here’s what’s hitting our scanner this time:

FedEx Corp. FDX- While FDX didn’t meet the expectations of Wall Street on its earnings yesterday post-market, very optimistic guidance from the CEO in which he stated “margins, cash flows and returns are going to increase over the next several years” has the stock gapping up this morning to the tune of 5% We’re going to be standing at the ready with the FDX Weekly $192.50-200 Calls to try to take advantage of the immediate reaction.
_____

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – We’ve had a ton of success with trading PBR options in the past, and are going to revisitWe are going to signal a range of short and longer-term options for PBR, which had a whirlwind release yesterday post-market in which it revealed a profit for 2016 and a cut to debt levels, which also helped to earn it an analyst upgrade from Credit Suisse Group AG. We’ll be looking at the PBR Weekly $9 Calls, as well as the PBR 04/21 $9.50-10.00 Calls.
_____

Dollar Tree, Inc. DLTR – Dollar Tree held its earnings call last week, so the reaction isn’t as fresh, but we’re more interested in what this one is going to do over a more extended period. They reported net sales increases of 5% year-over-year, while diluted earnings-per-share spiked over 40% year-over-year. We also like the look of the chart from a technical perspective, currently at a double-bottom on the chart and looking like it’s ripe for a recovery. We’re going to zero in on the DLTR 04/21 $78-80 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GIGL Explodes & More

Giggles N’ Hugs, Inc. GIGL

We were exceptionally pleased with the performance of GIGL after including it in Friday’s premarket report, and our timing really couldn’t have been any better. The stock had been trading sideways for months, without so much as a spike, yet it still broke out for a monstrous single-session move.

GIGL traded up from an early low of .0053, smashed through the penny barrier, and hurtled its way to an impressive high of .024. That worked out to an intraday push of 353% and it came on record volume.

For those reasons, we’ll certainly be ready to continue monitoring the activity in this play. We’ll of course allow for the possibility of some course correction, but the odds of seeing either a continued increase, or a dip-and-rip scenario, seem reasonably high at this point.

LIG Assets, Inc. LIGA

We also got a pretty good performance out of LIGA, which was another inclusion from Friday’s report. The move didn’t quite rise to the magnitude of the aforementioned stock, it did attain double-bagger status with a significant gain opportunity.

From a low of .001, we watched as LIGA shot to a high of .0022 inside of the first two hours of trading. That was good for quick gains of up to 120%    Perhaps just as importantly, the stock maintained more than half of its daily advance, so we’ll be keeping an eye peeled in sessions to come.

Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. MACK

We also want to draw attention to MACK this morning, a stock that we haven’t visited in quite some time. Following the establishment of a new 52-week (and indeed, a three year) low on Friday, a bombshell development hit wires this morning and is really causing a stir.

PPS has increased considerably in premarket trading as the company announced that it has sold a pancreatic cancer drug, among other assets, for a cool billion dollars. (>>View PR)

Whenever a major catalytic event such as this transpires, we always like to monitor the situation on the tail end. Hypothetically, a return to its pricing from around this time last year, from this point, would carry a gain of around 100%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Bounce Watchlist & More

Family Room Entertainment Corp. FMYR

FMYR made an appearance in Friday morning’s premarket watchlist, and was ready to make it’s rip right from the starting gun. The stock rapidly spiked 56% from .005-.0078, before dipping back to a low of .0045 and making a 33% swing back to the close at .006.

When it was all said and done, the stock ended up trading roughly ten times its monthly average volume. These are the type of volatile swingers that we like to track whenever we find them. When properly timed, these rapid intraday swings can be leveraged into quick profits. We’ll be on the lookout in the event of some momentum carryover from Friday.

Bottom-Bounce Watchlist

We’ve got a couple of plays with similar chart setups to tag for extended-term observation as we kick off this new trading week. Each of the following has exhibited signs of rebound action off of fairly recent annual lows, and in each case, a sizable gap on their respective charts is present. We’ve included snapshots of each chart below.

Adamis Pharmaceuticals Corp. ADMP– As you can see, ADMP gapped down hard in June, and followed that up with a selloff to new annual lows later that month. Recently it has been gaining ground off of its bottom, and at present the RSI is on the verge of cracking into the power zone.

Performance Sports Group Ltd. PSG – The gap on the chart in this case dates back to March, and it will need to break through a channel of resistance that we’ve marked below to make a run at filling it, but if that were to occur, we’d be talking about gains of several hundred percent from current PPS levels.
