AAPL, TSLA Forward Splits

Options Review:

Out of our options ideas in Friday’s report, the two targets that would have paid off the most were the WDAY Weekly $235-245 Calls and the DELL Weekly $62.50-65 Calls
and especially in the WDAY day, we saw considerable multibag moves on the day.

So we’re going to kick off this fresh trading week by going over the total possible gains on those plays, which were as follows:

WDAY Weekly $235-245 Calls
$235:
 5.54-13.78 (+300%)
$240: 2.36-8.90 (+277%)
$245: .38-3.99 (+950%)
_____

DELL Weekly $62.50-65 Calls
$62.50:
 3.85-5.09 (+32%)
$65: 2.40-3.36 (+40%)

Fresh Options Ideas:

We’ll go ahead and keep the options train chugging along the tracks this morning.  Despite not having a very full boat on the earnings calendar today, TSLA and AAPL have both undergone forward splits today on the heels of setting new record highs. We are going to formulate a couple of ideas to correspond with the new PPS values.

TSLA Weekly $447-455 Calls
AAPL Weekly $125-127.50 Calls

Wrapping Up a Successful Week

Options Review:

The three short-term options trading ideas that we formulated for yesterday morning’s premarket report were in the BURL, TIF, and DG chains on the heels of the three big name companies reporting their quarterly earnings figures.

In each case, we were able to witness noteworthy intraday gains, most of which did reach multibag gainer status on the day:

BURL Weekly $195-197.50 Calls
$195:
 4.24-9.78 (+131%)
$197.50: 3.00-6.50 (+117%)
_____

TIF Weekly $122-123 Calls
$122:
 .82-1.94 (+137%)
$123: .80-1.40 (+75%)
_____

DG Weekly $205 Calls
$205:
 .50-1.75 (+250%)

These successful picks mark the continuation of what has been a very productive month of August for us. The vast majority of the ideas we have put forth have subsequently recorded multibag jumps.

Fresh Options Ideas:
DELL Weekly $62.50-65 Calls
WDAY Weekly $235-245 Calls
ULTA Weekly $245-260 Calls

SPO Global Inc. SPOM – Update

We also have an update on the stock side of things, we included a tag of SPOM in both Monday and yesterday morning’s premarket reports. This is a stock that we have had a good bit of success with in the past even prior to this week. The stock has been steadily climbing all week, with its run kicking into a higher gear yesterday.

From Monday’s low of .0781 to yesterday’s new high of .28, we’ve now witnessed an intraweek increase of 259%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Reviewing PBR, HMLA, SPY & More

Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR – Options

Revisiting PBR this week as the stock has been trending up off of its lowest PPS in the last dozen years, continued to be a good decision yesterday.

For those that may have missed the reports, our primary targets were the PBR Weekly $5.00 and $5.50 Calls, with the $6 Calls as a conditional target in the event that PBR rebounded high enough. The action in the stock certainly provided us with the chance at solid gains across the board in the previous session, with the $5’s, $5.50’s, and $6’s logging intraday gains of 42%, 80%, and 175%, respectively.

That pattern of potential repeated itself and grew exponentially yesterday. The opportunities were as follows:

$5 Calls  – Daily Range: .38-.66  – Max Gain: 74%
$5.50 Calls  – Daily Range: .06-.28 – Max Gain: 366%
$6 Calls  – Daily Range: .02-.05 – Max Gain: 150%

Moving forward, we’ll look for dip-and-rip off of this morning’s premarket high of 5.98, and for us to remain interested in these contracts, we’ll need to see support hold at or above 5.50 on that dip.

Homeland Resources, Ltd. HMLA

We were tracking HMLA through our extended watchlist yesterday, and observed a solid intraday run from the stock.

From an early low of .00189, the stock ran into the close as reached a new high of .003. That goes on the books as an intraday swing of 59% so cheers to anyone who pared some profits out of that move.

Fresh SPY Options Ideas

We had a tremendous amount of success with the SPY last week, observing astronomical moves in our targeted contracts. We even had an exceedingly rare, single-session mover of over 20,000%! We would be thrilled if today’s ideas yielded the chance at even a small fraction of those mammoth gains!

Based on yesterday’s activity on SPY chart, current market conditions, and time-decay evaporating premiums on weekly contracts, we’re going to look for quick-strike opportunities in the SPY Weekly $199.50-203 Calls.

Don’t forget: Trading options with a weekly expiration on a Friday inherently carries an elevated risk/reward dynamic.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GBSN Review & More

Great Basin Scientific, Inc. GBSN

If it wasn’t already clear why we kept GBSN on bottom-watch for the past three weeks since our initial flag, yesterday’s continued uptrend brought it into much clearer focus.

Yesterday, after we re-alerted our readers that it had finally lifted off from its annual lows with a nice 50% intraday move, we mentioned that we wanted to see the stock establish a higher base of support as well as new highs, and it got a good start toward that end.

From its morning low of .098, the stock hurtled its way up to a daily high of .1389, which represents an intraday swing of 63%, and from its ultimate low of a nickel from the session prior, an overall increase of 178%

Once again, we’ll look for GBSN to exhibit signs of a more sustained recovery in sessions to come; as a quick view of the current chart reveals, the stock is still in heavily oversold territory and still looking bullish. We’ll want to see it maintain support at a minimum of .0785 to consider the uptrend still in effect.

Heron Therapeutics, Inc. HRTX

HRTX is gapping up heavily in the premarket today on the heels of yesterday’s revelation that the company’s bunionectomy pain drug generated exceedingly positive top-line results in Phase II studies. There is a conference call that just got underway at 8:30AM Eastern discussing the results of that study.

Despite the excitement being shown presently, leading up to this series of events, the HRTX Chart was on its way down and looking ripe for further losses, with the PPS sinking below the 50DMA for the first time since early August, a weakening RSI, and a bearish MACD.  We’re going to be looking at a way to take advantage as the stock pulls back off of this morning’s perhaps over-inflated excitement.

If it turns out as we suspect it may, we’ll look for action in the HRTX Weekly $45 and $42.50 Puts, however, in the event that it appears a bigger move up is imminent, we’d need to hop to the other side of the fence, and in that case, we’d most likely look to the Weekly $40 Calls.

Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. CCTC

We first put CCTC on watch a couple of weeks back, including in our reports on both the 9th and 10th of this month. On those first two days, we witnessed a 42% run from .45-.64, which preceded a pullback to a low of .36 the following day (11th).

Since that time, CCTC has been on a steady incline, and yesterday stock reached a new high of .7238, which marks a seven-session swing of 101% Both it and GBSN have clearly demonstrated why it’s smart to keep a continuous eye on stocks appear to present a good opportunity. Occasionally it takes several days for an idea to mature, but as we saw in both cases here, our initial instincts did prove correct.
