Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DAL Options & More

Delta Airlines Inc. DAL

Despite a tumultuous day for the markets yesterday, and mostly everything taking on a bearish characteristic, we’re still going to go bullish on DAL in the wake of the company’s quarterly earnings report released this morning.

Despite rising fuel costs, the company revealed that profits soared well past expectations as a result of increased demand leading to higher ticket prices.

As we always try to do when a company posts a solid beat, we’ll designate a range of options to place on watch, in this case the DAL Weekly $49.50-52 Calls. We’ll go ahead and track these into the end of the week. DAL stock was already oversold, getting hammered for weeks, so this report may be just the catalyst needed to effect an impressive reversal.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

We had great success with the SPY earlier this week, and we want to come back to it this morning in the wake of the markets getting crushed yesterday. With the amount of uncertainty and potential volatility out there, we want to set ourselves up to have an active idea no matter which way the winds blow.

Should the SPY fall below $276, we will target the SPY Weekly $277 & $276 Puts. If it pulls above $276 we will focus on the $276 and $277 Calls, so either way, we should be able to quickly identify the proper course once trading commences. .

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AMD Review & More

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. AMD

Our first order of business today is going to be to take a look at the incredible year AMD has had. We’ve mentioned it quite a few times along the way, but if we track all the way back to April 26th, we see that we caught this stock at a low of 10.61.

AMD has been an absolute juggernaught all year, and this morning in the premarket trades are going off at 33.25. That’s 213% higher than our observed share price this spring, and AMD shows little sign of slowing its gradual ascent.

In terms of options ideas, we are going to put an observation tag on the AMD Weekly $32-33 Calls.

Adobe Systems, Inc. ADBE

Yesterday morning for a fresh options idea,we stated that if we saw ADBE maintain support at or above 258.49, we were going to be very interested in the ADBE 10/26 $260-265 Calls.

The stock began to make the reversal we expected yesterday, and its activity fueled the first round of gains for our calls, which were as follows:

$260 Calls– Range: 8.05-10.50 – Max Gain: 30%
$262.50 Calls – Range: 7.25-8.50 – Max Gain: 17%
$265 Calls – Range: 4.85-7.85 – Max Gain: 62%

We would not be at all surprised to have to swing back around to report much larger gains down the road on these ideas, but yesterday’s activity was a solid start.

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. WBA – Recap

Also included in our morning report yesterday were the WBA 08/17 $67.50 & $70 Calls, and those too enjoyed some notable intraday gains for the session.

Despite selecting calls with August expiration, the payoff to this idea was all but instantaneous, with each of our two ideas logging significant intraday runs to the upside. The $67.50’s traded in a range from .93 to 1.45, a gains of 133% while the $70’s went from .40-.65, which works out to a gain of 63%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Recapping Friday’s Winners & More

South American Gold Corp. SAGD
(soon to be Sativa Growth International)

We initially tagged SAGD on June 21st, signaling our interest in tracking the stock as it was trading as low as .0135. We saw a nice 170% move to .0364 in a matter of week, something we mentioned on Friday when we recapped the stock’s impressive move.

Friday’s session itself brought another opportunity in SAGD in the form of a dip-and-rip scenario. The stock traded for as little as .0255 before rattling off a new high of .0378. It marked an intraday swing of 48% and as measured from our initially observed lows, the new high marked an overall increase of 180% in just over a week.

We’ll be continuing to track the company’s efforts to effect a name and direction change, as it attempts to enter the cannabis space.

UpperSolution.com URSL

We also would like to quickly make mention of URSL, a penny play we took notice of this morning after a recent run of extreme volatility. The stock has come back down to a relative bottom after a recent incredible run from less than fifty cents to more than 5.50/share. On friday the stock fell back off of a cliff down to the 1.50 area.

With these types of swings occurring in the past handful of sessions, we’re interested in tracking the stock’s activity as we kick off this holiday-shortened week.
