Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DMTX Review, Options & More

Dimension Therapeutics, Inc. DMTX

We alerted on DMTX after a sizable gap-up few weeks back on the morning of August 25th. That day we would observe a low of 2.90 in the stock, and it never looked back.

Throughout the month of September the stock has mostly been stair-stepping its way up in steady fashion, but news of an unsolicited buyout offer (@5.50/share) kicked this play into a much higher gear to start things off this week, and yesterday DMTX attained a high of 5.90.

That works out to a three-week double-bag swing of 103% We wouldn’t expect to see the stock travel much higher, certainly not without confirmation or further details on a proposal, but will still keep our eyes open for further activity after a very strong session yesterday.

Fresh Options Ideas

We’ve got a pair of options possibilities  to present this morning. Yesterday’s market sentiment was exceedingly bullish, with more than 65% of NASDAQ quoted stocks trading at or above their 50-day moving averages.

Today, better than expected numbers on Housing Starts and Building Permits were reported, which could assist in keeping the momentum moving.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY) – For a direct market analog, we generally turn to the SPY, having had immense success with it on several separate occasions in the past. We’re going to signal the SPY Weekly $249.50 & $250 Calls for observation as we approach midweek.
_____

The Kroger Co. KR – We’re also noticing a heck of a bottom setup on KR. A strong multiple bottom signal showing the stock at a solid support level, and a couple of gaps to the upside on the chart leaves us looking at a pair of longer-term contracts. We’re going to place the KR 11/17 $23 & $24 Calls on watch in the event of a recovery for Kroger.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CGI Recap & More

Celadon Group Inc. CGI

Our first order of business this morning is to swing back around for a stock that we signaled our interest in back in May, which has subsequently gone on to put together a fantastic run up the chart.

When we tagged CGI on May 9th, the stock had recently fallen off of a cliff, and was attempting to recover off of its newly established lows. We observed a low PPS of 1.90 just a couple of sessions later, and that preceded one heck of a recovery. Yesterday, CGI streaked to new highs, coming up as the #4 top gainer on the NASDAQ, and reaching 5.15. That works out to a total increase of 171%

Having now recovered all of the ground it lost in early May, the chart still appears strong, and the next key resistance point we’ll look to see CGI make a run at is the current 200DMA of 5.95.

Options Ideas
We mentioned in the previous report that there would be a growing number of possible options trading opportunities as we neared the end of the week. This morning we’re looking at Facebook, Inc. FB, which reported yesterday post-market, and Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (BUD), reporting this morning.

Each of them had beats, and are gapping up in the premarket. We’ll be monitoring the FB Weekly $172.50-180 Calls and the
BUD Weekly $120 & 125 Calls.

InfoSonics Corp. IFON

We also want to quickly recap the solid performance of IFON, which we tagged yesterday morning as a possible bottom bounce play, after seeing it test it 50 and 200DMA’s the previous day. The stock responded with another nice move from  .562 to .84, an intraday push of 49% on big time volume.

We’ll look for the establishment of higher lows and higher highs and for the stock to maintain its multi-day runner status, and for a break of resistance in the channel between yesterday’s swing high and a swing high back in April at 1.04.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Success & More

Options Success

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – Options  -We signaled a range of options contracts on NFLX in yesterday’s premarket report, citing the earnings beat of the previous afternoon. We specifically mentioned that we were looking out for a dip-and-rip formation on the chart and the stock produced a classic example of such. NFLX’s big day, which ultimately facilitated those multi-bag profit opportunities, was fueled by an impressive 5 million new subscribers to the Netflix streaming service.

Right out of the gate, it dipped briefly to the high $175 area before going on an hours-long bullish push to the upper $184’s. That activity led to some really nice gains in our highlighted options, the NFLX Weekly $172.50-180 Calls:

$172.50 Calls – Range: 3.80-12.75 – Max Gain: 236%
$175 Calls – Range: 2.50-10.50 – Max Gain: 320%
$177.50 Calls – Range: 1.40-8.30– Max Gain: 493%
$180 Calls – Range: .85-6.42 – Max Gain: 655%

_______

Nutanix, Inc. NTNX – We also want to circle back to recap the moves made by an options idea we included in Friday morning’s report. NTNX continued to climb yesterday, and so the NTNX 7/21 $20-25 Calls we signaled have turned up some really nice moves.

$20 Calls – Range: 1.65-3.90 – Max Gain: 136%
$22.50 Calls – Range: .40-1.56 – Max Gain: 290%
$25 Calls – Range: .05-.28 – Max Gain: 460%

Yesterday’s Movers

We also had a number of the stocks that we highlighted in yesterday’s report yield chances for solid gains, and of them gave us a reason to look out for further moves:

Caprico Therapeutics, Inc. CAPR – The biggest gainer of the day from our mentions and on the NASDAQ itself, CAPR traded in a range from a low of .901, on up to a high of 1.62. That worked out to an 80% rip, and it came on an incredible 291X the monthly average volume.

The huge session was catalyzed by the announcement that the FDA has granted Rare Pediatric Disease Designation to CAP-1002, Capricor’s development candidate for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. (>>View PR)
_________

Marijuana Company of America, Inc. MCOA – There was a nice move in MCOA as the stock traded up 38% from .02685-.037 on close to five times its monthly average volume, and the table may be set for a continuation of the trend with a new PR hitting the wires this morning.

The company is reporting that it has received the first round of funding for a joint venture to construct a 30,000 sq. ft. greenhouse grow facility in Oroville, Washington. Once completed, the greenhouse facility will accommodate a cannabis production and processing tenant with a Tier 3, I-502 license… (>>View PR)
_________

Novavax Inc. NVAX – This one recorded a very respectable gain on the day, running steadily from 1.17 up to 1.53, a 31% upswing. More importantly, the stock maintained the vast majority of its daily advance into the close, so we’ll want to continue to track NVAX as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Cannabis Sector Heating Up Again

Cannabis Comments

We got head-faked a little bit in terms of the cannabis sector in the past year or so. Leading up to last fall, anything even remotely tied to marijuana was going through the roof, with seemingly no end in sight. Then a regime change in Washington led to the appointment of self-avowed cannabis hater Jeff Sessions to the head of the DOJ. That led to a considerable cooling of what was previously the hottest market sector.

That being said, it has been business as usual for companies operating in the space in places that have taken the step of ending prohibition. Growth is happening all around, and the investment community has taken notice. The cannabis sector is showing signs of heating up once again, so we want to return to some of the plays we’ve covered in the past and highlight a few that could stand to see some good moves in the days and weeks ahead.

Dewmar International, Inc. DEWM – We just signaled our interest in DEWM in Friday morning’s premarket report, and the stock made a solid two-session swing. From Friday’s low of .0108 to .0163 yesterday, marking a move of 51% We’ll want to continue to track its movements, particularly after this morning’s news.

DEWM announced today that it filed a provisional patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the treatment of lung cancer with cannabinoids, so that’s going to be another interesting storyline to follow with respect to DEWM.

Also going on our refreshed cannabis watchlist of previously tracked stocks will be PNTV, POTN, MCIG, MCOA, and TRTC.

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – Options

We’re always looking for a good post-earnings options play and we may have one with NFLX this morning. Up 10% in premarket trading on a solid beat, we’re going to be looking for a potential dip-and-rip scenario that could lead to some hefty intraday moves. Our targets are going to be the NFLX Weekly $172.50-180 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: INMG, DRNK Recaps & More

Innovativ Media Group, Inc. INMG

When we last left off with INMG on Thursday morning, we had already seen a five session swing of 1400% over the previous week. While we certainly acknowledged the impressive gains, we stated, “the stock will peel back off of these impressive highs and that’s when we’ll be looking for what could be a serious dip-and-rip pattern.” Our assessment of the situation turned out to be very astute, and INMG experienced exactly the activity we suggested.

That morning, the stock dipped down significantly to ultimately find support at .0145, from which point it began a three-session span of recording higher lows and higher highs, leading up to yesterday’s high of .032.  The ‘rip’ in our observed dip-and-rip on INMG has thus far amounted to an added opportunity for gains of up to 121% on the upswing!

NoHo, Inc. DRNK

Continuing along with another fantastic call we made just yesterday, we’ve got DRNK, which we explicitly stated could be the next super-subpenny “to go for a big ride”. It took no time at all for our hunch to come to fruition, as it showed us a really nice move on day one.

The stock traded up from .0003 to .00051, for a 70% intraday pop, which came on more than eight times the monthly average volume with more than 800 million shares changing hands on the day. It also held half its advance into a .0004 close.

The move was helped along by a well-received PR which hit wires shortly after our morning report concerning the company’s declaration of a moratorium on conversions along with the negotiation of a debt buyout:

David Mersky, NOHO’s CEO, stated, “We have come to terms with our majority note holder to freeze conversions, which puts NOHO in a very strong position moving forward with significant developments underway. This is a strong signal of our majority debt holder’s confidence in the long term vision we have for the Company. This agreement is also a big win for our shareholders, as we continue to make changes to reduce the outstanding shares and avoid dilution as a priority moving forward.” (>>View Full PR)

We’re really going to want to keep an eye on DRNK. With a commitment to cleaning up their share structure, along with the added attention that a big move on the chart is going to bring, we won’t rule out the possibility of DRNK breaking from the super-subpenny range to the subpenny range, or even higher.
