Winning Options Plays, 4 Fresh Ideas

Options Reviews:

Despite only having a single earnings reporter yesterday morning off of which we could base an options idea, we managed to turn up some pretty good opportunities including a couple multi-bag gain chances.

That lone fresh play was for the PEP Weekly $162.50-167.50 Calls, and they did post some nice intraday moves. In addition, we have a couple of updates on some longer term calls that we signaled in reports from last week. For the CAT 11/04 $180-185 Calls, we alerted these calls on last Wednesday the 5th, while the UNFI 11/18 $35 Calls were an idea we formulated on September 30th. Both have performed rather nicely, and give a good example of why we like to include a mix of quick-strike plays with longer-term ideas.

Meta Materials, Inc. MMTLP – OTC Recap:

We had just marked MMTLP as an OTC worth tracking in yesterday morning’s extended watchlist, and the stock recorded a very nice intraday move for us, running from a low of 3.80 up to a high of 6.90. That represents an intraday rally of 82%

A Load of Fresh Targets

Amkor Technology, AMKR

We’re going to take a little break from our typical focus today, and have a look some pure stock plays that we feel have some good potential. So our first billing on this Monday morning is going to be AMKR.

The stock has been searching out a bottom over the last few sessions, which it has found around the upper $10-level, and has just received an upgrade and $16 price target from Credit Suisse. Accordingly, we’re going to place AMKR on extended watch for the possibility of a notable rebound from the current PPS.

Bellerophon Therapeutics, Inc. BLPH

Another stock play we’re focusing in on today is BLPH, a symbol we’ve had some experience with in the past. After a lackluster summer, the stock appears to be gearing up for a potentially fruitful fall season. It recently reversed off of a bottom, and we’re going to want to place this one on watch for an extended term as well.

BLPH tested the $20-25 range back in May, and we are going to hang around to see if it can mount a similar effort as we head into the holidays.

Kontrol Energy Corp. KNRLF

Speaking of stock plays, we had included a mention of the OTC stock KNRLF in our watchlist on Thursday morning. The low from that day came in at 2.12 and on Friday, it reached a new high of 3.88 marking a two-day swing of 83%

It also ended up closing out the week with strength very near that daily high, so we’ll have our eyes peeled for a possible continuation of that momentum.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Wrapping Up the Short Week

Before we close out this 3-and-a-half day week, we’d like to take this opportunity to say, we hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday! We’re thankful for having such a great audience of faithful readers! You folks are the reason we get out of bed each day to provide our best insights and ideas on stocks, funds, and options! Cheers to you and yours!

Omni Health, Inc. OMHE

We included OMHE as a part of our extended watchlist on Wednesday morning, and the stock followed that up with a respectable performance on the day, despite a very quiet session, as is to be expected just preceding a holiday.

OMHE traded in a range from a low of .026 to a subsequent high of .038, which worked out to an intraday gain of 46% and it came on relatively heavy volume to the tune of nearly six times the monthly average.

Our timing in mentioning this play for the first time ever on Wednesday, was as good as can be, as the stock surged to a new annual high on the day. For these reasons, we’ll be sure to leave this play on our radar in sessions to come.

In an added note, Omni Health is actually a spinoff of a cannabis stock that we have mentioned in the past- MCIG.

Cannabis Roundup

Speaking of cannabis plays, we’ve continued to track the sector on the heels of this month’s elections, as was our intent. On the whole,  activity has been more subdued than expected due to a number of other hot-button areas that have enjoyed good performance, such as the shipping sector boom that we took advantage of a couple of weeks ago.

That being said, we are still as interested as ever in the marijuana space, and many of the plays we’ve been monitoring in that area put up solid numbers just prior to the holiday hiatus, so we just want to provide a quick update on the kind of intraday gains that were made possible:

Medical Marijuana, Inc. MJNA – Range: .083-.115 – Max Gain: 59%

Marijuana Co. of America, Inc. MCOA – Range: .0251-.0575 – Max Gain: 129%

American Cannabis Co. Inc. AMMJ – Range: .461-.8689 – Max Gain: 88%

Vape Holdings, Inc. VAPE – Range: .0058-.0115 – Max Gain: 98%

As always, we’ll remind everyone to keep a general watch over any and all pot plays, as you see the level of opportunity that the sector continues to bring to the table.
