KMX, ABML Recaps & More

CarMax, Inc. KMX – Options Recap

Our lone fresh options idea in yesterday’s report, was a short on CarMax, the weekly KMX Weekly $99-97.50 Put, and with a little help from a bearish day for the markets in general, those turned out to be excellent targets.

American Battery Metals Corp. ABML – Huge Gains

In our premarket report on Monday morning, we signaled interest in ABML in our extended watchlist, and during that session the stock was trading for as little as .52 a share and climbing. This morning in the premarket we’ve seen ABML printing 1.48, which marks a two-day rise of 185%

What’s even more impressive, is that we’ve actually been tracking this stock since June, when it was trading for as little as .0621. From that level, this week’s new highs represent an upswing of 2283% in less than six months!

Fresh Options Plays, Friday’s Multi-Baggers

SolarWinds Corp. SWI – Bottom Watch Play

Many SWI shareholders have been running for the hills following the company’s software being at the center of a major global hacking effort last week, and that’s precisely why we are becoming interested in the stock as a bottom-watch play.

SWI is apparently on track to report a big year-over-year earnings increase, and while the full ramifications of the company’s role in the breaches is not yet known, we want to get out ahead of the crowd and begin monitoring it for a bottom-bounce entry point nonetheless.

Not only will we track the stock, but we’re going to formulate a longer-term options idea to monitor over the next couple of months, with the SWI 02/19 $12.50-17.50 Calls.

NKLA Explodes!

Nikola Corp. NKLA – HUGE Gainer

To start off the week yesterday morning, we entered into an idea for NKLA, a stock which had been on a steady rise for about the last month. Thanks to another ripper of a day for the markets in general, NKLA gained more ground just during yesterday’s session than the entire month-long run that preceded it.

It was an absolutely massive run from 40.42-73.70. That’s an 82% intraday boom, which for a forty-dollar stock is simply incredible. The party is not over yet, either. Here in the premarket this morning, NKLA has attained another new high of 97.41, stretching our 24-hour observed gain on the stock alone, to 141%

We had also highlighted a couple of strike-points in the options chain, and the gains there were absolutely ridiculous as well, not to mention the fact that we expect them to open far higher this morning, based on the premarket activity. All around this has been one of the most exiting plays of the year so far for us.

Here are the intraday moves and total possible gains on our options targets:

NKLA Weekly $42-43 Calls
$42:
 1.79-28.65 (+1500%)
$43: 1.34-28.00 (+1990%)

JC Penney Co. JCPNQ – We had also tagged JC Penney in our extended watchlist yesterday and that stock also made a very nice move on the day. It traded in a range from .351 to .679, which represents a move of 93%
_____

iGen Networks Corp. IGEN – Additionally, we had included IGEN in our watchlist on Wednesday morning, and this subpenny OTC play has also put up quite a performance. It has run from a low of .0022, and yesterday reached .0083, which marks a total gain of 277%

Pharma Updates

Ocular Therapeutics, Inc. OCUL  – We’ve been observing OCUL for a couple months now, beginning with our report from Dec. 30th. The stock did rise considerably in a predictable pattern over the first two months of 2020, and thanks largely in part to the effect the coronavirus is having on many pharma plays, the stock really kicked the increases into high gear this week.

Subsequent to our report just prior to the New Year, OCUL was trading for a little as 3.83 a share, and its new high yesterday came in at 7.48, marking a solid rise of 95%
_____

Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. INO  – We signaled INO on Thursday morning, and provided an update again in yesterday’s report. From its low of 3.83, we have now witnessed an upswing of 145% as of the stock’s new high of 9.40 achieved yesterday.

The markets have begun to swing back and forth with just the kind of volatility that we relish, but it is highly unlikely that we are seeing the last of the coronavirus’ effect on stocks in general. With the outbreak not yet contained, it stands to reason that this volatility will persist for the foreseeable future.

Campbell Soup Co. CPB – Options Update

We offered up an options idea for the Campbell’s chain yesterday, the CPB Weekly $49-50.50 Calls. While the 49.50’s didn’t trade substantial volume, the other three contract sets in the range saw some nice moves.

CPB Weekly $49-50.50 Calls

$49: 2.03-3.10 (+53%)
$50: 1.25-2.58 (+106%)
$50.50: .98-2.10 (+114%)
