Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MYO, HOS Reviews & More

Myomo, Inc. MYO

In terms of intraday gainers, MYO stole the show on Friday after appearing in our premarket report. Considering the fact that it was a ten dollar stock to begin with, the single-session rip we got from this play was fantastic.

From a low of 10.10 in the morning, MYO cruised its way to a high of 18.20 on over three times the monthly average volume. That worked out to an 80% move, and the stock closed with strength.

We’re going to be looking to MYO again as we kick off a new trading week today, as the stock has already bested Friday’s highs in premarket trading this morning. There may be a dip-and-rip formation, or a straight continuation of momentum, but either way we’ll want to see higher highs and higher lows established in order to confirm MYO as a multi-day runner and remain interested.

Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. HOS

Coming in as an honorable mention, also from Friday’s report, was HOS. The stock traded up from 2.26 and ran as high as 2.93. That logs as a intraday rise of 30%, and it traded six times its 30-day average volume.

Like the above-mentioned play, HOS had a pretty solid close, and is showing signs of potentially sustaining the trend it established leading into the end of last week.

Smart & Final Stores, Inc. SFS

Many grocery stocks took a hit at the end of last week amid the huge Amazon-Whole Foods deal, and there could definitely be rebound opportunities forthcoming as a result.

One such stock that caught our eye is SFS, which was hammered down to new 52-week lows on Friday. Purely from a technical standpoint we’d be interested in this for potential bottom plays in the stock and the options chain as well. We’ll signal the SFS 08/18 $10 Calls for observation over an extended term.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DCTH Review & More

Delcath Systems, Inc. DCTH
We flagged DCTH in Friday’s premarket reportas a prime bottom-bounce candidate that could be in line for a serious rebound, and even despite the markets as a whole taking a gut punch, it ended up being a great single-session play, and the NASDAQ’s top gainer.

From an early low of .0501 the stock surged as high as .0845, which works out to an intraday rise of 69% and it occurred on more than ten times the 30-day average volume, with DCTH logging its second-highest daily volume of all time.

We’d say our timing was extremely fortuitous on this rebound play, and with the kind price action and liquidity that we witnessed Friday, we’ll definitely be interested to see how the action unfolds to kick off this new trading week.

TrovaGene, Inc. TROV

We wanted to make mention of TROV this morning after noticing a cherry of a PR buzzing over the newswires. The company announced an agreement to provide tests and services for pharma giant AstraZeneca.

Whenever we see one of these smaller pharma company’s have joint news with a big player in the sector, we always want to pay attention to the stock. A perfect example of this is Pieris Pharmaceuticals, Inc. PIRS, which we signaled back on May 4th when that company also had news tying it to none other than AstraZeneca. What followed was a 55% run lasting nearly a month that took it from 3.26 the following day to a high of 5.06 last Monday, the 31st.

On the chance that TROV experiences a similar bullish push on the heels of its own AstraZeneca announcement, we’re going to be sure to have this one on watch in coming sessions.

Ascena Retail Group, Inc. ASNA

We’re also taking notice of a nice technical setup on ASNA, which owns the Lane Bryant retail brand among others, and was another of the NASDAQ’s top gainers of the day on Friday.

The activity came in the wake of a rather disappointing earnings release in terms of financials, but investors clearly responded well to the company outlook moving forward.

As you can see on the included snapshot, the stock picked up speed in its recent ascent off of a bottom, and began to fill a gap on the chart to the upside. We also have a number of other indicators pointing to a possible continued uptrend, so we’ll afford this stock a slot on our watchlist.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AVNR, SINO, FREE & More

Avanir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AVNR

We included AVNR in our extended watchlist yesterday and we were glad that we did. The company released an announcement concerning the positive clinical trials of its drug “AVP-923” which is used to treat Alzheimer’s >>Read The Release and what followed was one heck of a bullish session.

The stock saw an early low of 9.32, and steadily pushed its way up all session long, with the high of 13.09 coming just prior to the close. That mark represented a solid 40% intraday gain, as well as a new 52-week high! The amount of volume traded was also impressive, on the order of more than 89M shares, an annual record and more than 25X the three-month average, so we really like the timing of our alert on AVNR.

AVNR provides another good example of why we always remind our subscribers to check through our daily extended watchlist selections thoroughly, as hidden gems like this one tend to pop up with surprising regularity.

Sino-Global Shipping America Ltd. SINO

SINO began to run when the company released financials that included some significant highlights just prior to the close yesterday, and the stock is gapping up heavily this morning for what should be an interesting session.

Generally in these instances we’ll be on the lookout for the phenomenon we refer to as the dip-and-rip. Stockholders see the huge run, and the resultant profit-taking usually leads to a subsequent pullback. That’s where we’re waiting to catch the bounce and snipe some rapid profits.

FreeSeas Inc. FREE

FREE made its way down to a new 52-week low of .29 yesterday and could be in prime position for a possible bounceplay. This morning, the company has revealed that it has concluded the sale of one of its vessels for $12.25M and entered into a long-term charter with the new owners >> View PR

FREE is gapping up as a result and provided that the stock can break through resistance at roughly .45 which we’ve pointed out on the following chart, things could get very interesting.
