Monday’s Movers, 3 New Possibilities

Monday’s Solid Plays:

We got off to quite a good start for the first full trading week of the new year, with the ideas we put out in Monday’s report yielding some very nice intraday upswings. Friday’s Activity, 3 New Ideas

Friday’s Runners:

We closed out the trading week on Friday in decent form, after having signaled a range of three possible options plays in our premarket report for the session. We ended up seeing some pretty good intraday movement from two out of three of those opportunities. Not the perfect performance we expect from ourselves, but the gains we did see were pretty impressive.

Our winning targets were the ULTA Weekly $567.50-572.50 Calls, and the DOCU Weekly $67-66 Puts, and these were the largest intraday upswings recorded by each set:

PLCE Options Recap & More

The Children’s Place, Inc. PLCE – Update

As a result of the insider buying we discovered at a bottom on PLCE yesterday, we placed a pair of contracts in the options chain on watch, specifically the, PLCE 01/17 $65-70 Calls.

Despite being a bit of a longer-term idea, we still witnessed instantaneous results from these targets, which produced the following intraday moves:

$65 Calls – Range: 2.55-4.20 – Max Gain: 65%
$70 Calls – Range: .35-.85 – Max Gain: 143%

We’re interested in continuing to track these plays, with PLCE still boasting a massive gap to the topside on the chart up to roughly the $70 level. Should the stock continue to fill that gap, we’re going to see the total gains on these ideas hit even more impressive levels.

Fresh Options Ideas:
WVE 04/17 $17.50-25 Calls
GIS 01/17 $55 Calls
FDX Weekly $155-150 Puts

Moleculin Biotech, Inc. MBRX – Recap

Following the FDA fast-tracking of the company’s Annamycin drug, yesterday morning we noted that this stock we began tracking late last month had risen by 89% (.7772-1.47) right on the heels of the good news. It would appear that the development took some time to fully filter through the investment community, because even we weren’t prepared for the enormous continuation of momentum that has now transpired.

From yesterday’s 1.25 low-of-day, MBRX shot up like a rocket and ultimately reached a new peak of 3.15. That worked out to a single session surge of 152% From our initially observed low, it represents an increase of 305% in just over three weeks of trading. This has not turned out to be our biggest stock-only call of the year so far just yet, but it is right up there among the best.
