6 Fresh Ideas, Special Announcement

Wednesday’s Winners, 6 New Ideas:

We swept the board with our options plays in yesterday morning’s premarket report, with all three of the sets of puts that we signaled interest in, making some pretty good moves for us. It was a rather light day for earnings, but that isn’t going to be an issue with the mammoth slate of reporters on the calendar for today.

As for yesterday’s runners, we were tracking the AAP Weekly $83-80 Puts, the CPRI 06/16 $37.50 Puts and the FRO 06/16 $14 Puts, and here are the solid moves the exhibited on the session.

AAP Weekly $83-80 Puts
$83:
 6.85-10.00 (+46%)
$82: 3.50-8.94 (+155%)
$81: 3.40-8.00 (+135%)
$80: 2.50-7.44 (+198%)
_____

CPRI 06/16 $37.50 Puts

 1.20-3.20 (+167%)
_____

FRO 06/16 $14 Puts
$14: .80-1.00 (+25%)

Fresh Options Ideas:

We selected a half dozen possible plays today. We wanted to leave things this week on a potentially exciting note, as we will be unable to publish a premarket report tomorrow. It’s extremely rare that we take a trading day off, so it’s not something to which our readers will need to become accustomed. We’ll see everyone bright and early Monday morning to go over these plays and kick off a fresh trading week!

CRM Weekly $215-210 Puts
CRWD Weekly $145-143 Puts
VEEV 06/16 $175-180 Calls
OKTA Weekly $75-73 Puts
CHWY Weekly $34-35 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Ideas & More

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

As you are probably aware the SPY (the markets as a whole) had been on a historic run starting in early 2016 which persisted through January of this year, when we experienced some of the biggest selloffs in market history. The SPY began to rebound earlier this month, and was making a pretty good run at a recovery until yesterday brought another significant backslide.

Despite yesterday’s hiccup, the SPY has been in a general uptrend for the last couple of weeks, and today, it looks like we could resume the path toward ascension. We’ll be ;looking for the markets to go green today, which could produce some notable opportunities in the SPY 02/28 $275-276 Calls*.

*Please note that these contracts expire today, thus the associated risk is that of trading weekly options on a Friday. It should never be attempted unless you are an expert level trader with disposable funds.

The TJX Companies, inc. TJX

TJX is exhibiting a considerable surge in premarket trading today. Despite missing EPS estimates in their Q4 earnings call, the stock is gapping up to the tune of 8% this morning.

When we see a monster gapper like this, we generally look to signal a range of options calls that will come into play in a dip-and-rip scenario, which are quite common in instances such as these. We will be tracking the TJX 03/16 $80-85 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ANF Options Recap & More

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF – Options Update

Our main point of focus in yesterday’s premarket report was a bearish stance on ANF to correspond the company’s earnings miss. We wanted to use the impending selloff to our advantage, and for that we selected the ANF Weekly $22-19.50 Puts.

The activity unfolded just as we expected it would, and as a result our observed contracts provided us with nice intraday gain opportunities.

$22 Puts – Range: 2.55-4.09 – Max Gain: 60%
$21.50 Puts – Range: 1.70-4.15 – Max Gain: 144%
$21 Puts – Range: .64-3.14 – Max Gain: 391%
$20.50 Puts – Range: .48-2.60 – Max Gain: 442%
$20 Calls – Range: .36-2.15 – Max Gain: 497%
$19.50 Calls – Range: .27-1.65 – Max Gain: 511%

While the contracts don’t expire until Friday, this is likely to be a one-day idea that we’ll now be moving on from, as the chances of seeing ANF take another dramatic backslide seem rather slim at this point.

Updates on Last Friday’s Solid Picks

We want to circle back today to recap a couple of plays we added to our watchlist on Friday morning. Both have left their lows behind, with each of them going on to register new highs yesterday.

Firefish, Inc. FRFS – saw its low on Friday at .0031 and yesterday found its way up .0064, marking a 106% swing in a four session span.

Force Protection Video Equipment, Inc. FPVD
– This play found its bottom on Monday at .016 before leading into yesterday’s high of .027. That goes down in the books as a three-day, 68% shift to the upside.

Fresh Options Idea:

VEEV posted a 34% year-over-year increase on revenue in this morning’s earnings report, and like usual, we want to signal a range of options contracts to monitor as a result. Our targets are going to be the VEEV 09/16 $39-42 Calls.
