Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PBR, RSH & Extended Watchlist

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options

Our continuous tracking of the PBR option chain never seems to go very long without offering up significant opportunities.  Beginning on August 20th, we placed the Jan.17th $19 Calls on watch for a longer-term trading idea. Following that tag, we would observe those contracts trading at a low 1.23.

This week PBR has pushed to new highs, breaking the $19-mark and maintaining it into its close at 19.21, which landed our $19 Calls at 2.25. That represents a one-week increase of 83% and that figure could stand to inflate even further.

Those who have been following PBR with us since March, when we spied a low of 11.25 will be pleased to know that as of yesterday’s new high of 19.32, the overall increase we’ve seen in the stock amounts to 72%

RadioShack Corp. RSH

We reminded readers of our recent bottom call of RSH yesterday morning, having seen the stock touch its 52-week low at .55. Over the last several sessions it had been regaining some ground, and that pattern continued into yesterday as well.

RSH would trade as low as .91 before pushing through a dollar and closing at its high of day at 1.09. That’s an increase of 20% on approximately 7x its 1-month average volume; a strong move. With a close like that, we’ll be looking for some of the momentum to carry over.

Yesterday’s closing price represents an increase of 98% over our observed low of .55.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DRL, PLUG Earnings & More

Doral Financial Corp. DRL

Following yesterday morning’s mention of DRL and the opportunities it has sent our way over the past couple of months, the stock once again provided for us. This time, it came in the form of a classic dip-and-rip, making its way down to an early-morning low of 6.80 before spending the rest of the session on the rise. We saw shares changing hands at 7.68 just prior to the close, a modest yet solid intraday move of 13%

Estimates have DRL’s earnings release pegged for the end of next week, so it should be interesting to see how this play fares over the next handful of trading days.

Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR Update

PBR has fallen into a consolidation pattern over the past couple of sessions, and we are monitoring the chart for signs of a bottom. The stock crept below 15.50, its lowest price in a month.

We’d like to see PBR get back above the 50DMA of 15.68, but in the meantime, we’ll  need to see support hold above the 14.50-mark. Once we observe the telltale signs of another turnaround, we’ll be able to re-form our options trading strategies.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks Kicks Off 2014 With a Bang!

Cannabis Sector Report

Our tenacity in covering one of the hottest stories of 2013 just won’t stop paying dividends, and all signs point to the sustaining of that trend in 2014.

Lately, some of you might have been wondering why we have been so keen to continue our focus on marijuana-related stocks (aside from the percentage gains they’ve already afforded us, collectively numbering in the thousands). You got your definitive answer yesterday, when 2014 trading kicked off, and the plethora of pot stocks we’ve been tracking proceeded to put some serious coin in our pockets!

While some newsletters have yet to even release their first picks of the new year, we are already tallying up a number of winning selections in this sector (and others).

Cannabis Science, Inc. CBIS

We caught CBIS off of its 52-wk lows (.028) in December. Following yesterday’s huge session, we saw a high of .087. That marks a huge 211% gain from our December alerts. Those who may have only caught yesterday’s report, still had the chance at up to 57% from the daily low of .0555.

GreenGrow Technologies, Inc. GRNH

From a low of .045 to a high of .0795, GRNH put up an excellent session to follow our morning mention, giving traders the chance at a very respectable 77% gain. Back on November 18th, we bore witness to a .02-low on GRNH. From that level, yesterday’s high represents a increase of 298%

Hemp, Inc. HEMP

HEMP traded in a daily range from .02-.0318, offering us gains of up to 59% on the day. Like the previously mentioned plays, HEMP appears to want to gap up today. The momentum we’re observing in all of these stocks could take awhile to dry up.

GrowLife PHOT

PHOT didn’t disappoint either, with it’s maiden session of 2014 seeing a low of .157 give way to a high of .2075, a solid move of 32%

Those were just the top gainers of the cannabis stocks we’ve been tracking, several others, including MDBX, ERBB, TRTC, FITX and more, also posted positive gains on the day, and will continue to remain on our watchlists moving forward.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG

Shifting gears from the marijuana stocks, we once again have PLUG. Following its appearance in yesterday’s newsletter (where we mentioned that this play had already made a move of over 1800% for us) PLUG would go on to have a bang-up first session of the year, dipping to a low of 1.89 before running up to 2.33, and giving us added gains to the tune of 23% The stock closed at the high of day, and as is always the case when that happens, we are on a sharp lookout for continued momentum. It appears that’s just what we’re going to get, as the stock is already trading up in the 2.50-range this morning on relatively heavy premarket volume.
