Hasbro, Inc. HAS – Options Idea

Yesterday, after noticing the recording of new 6-month lows on HAS the day prior, coupled with a premarket earnings beat, we signaled a range of options ideas in our report.

Fresh Options Idea:

With NFLX beating on earnings yesterday post-market, we’ll signal a range of contracts to watch there as well. We’re particularly interested in tracking the NFLX Weekly $117-120 Calls.

The Start of Green Rush 2.0?

A couple of years ago, when marijuana stocks first began to emerge, and the march toward legalization in many places began, we termed it a ‘Green Rush’. It was a historical few months of exponential gains for anything even remotely tied to the cannabis space.

We’ve never stopped monitoring the sector, which, compared to practically any other, is still in its infancy. Recently, we’ve been reminding our readers to keep a keen eye as well, for if all things remain equal, it’s likely that California will become a recreational marijuana state in just a few week’s time. California is the most populous state in the country, and the proposed bill is more comprehensive than anything we’ve seen in the other states where prohibition laws have been scrapped. The ripple effect from the world’s sixth largest economy legalizing marijuana and its by-products will be significant indeed.

In fact, the effect of the anticipation is already kicking the tires on what could very well be Green Rush 2.0. Out of the top 14 traded stocks on yesterday’s scanner (pictured below) all but one have some link to the pot sector. Every last one of them are stocks that we’ve talked about in the past, and all of them (and more) will be high up on our working watchlist over the next several weeks.

We warned our readers of the first Green Rush before it kicked into full swing back in 2014, and we’ve been doing our best to do the same thing in advance of the forthcoming California vote on Prop 64, which should ultimately prove to be a real game-changer.

The symbols pictured above will also serve as today’s Extended Watchlist, in addition to FLDM, a declining stock that we want to put on bottom watch.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Key Updates & More

NovaVax, Inc. NVAX

NVAX continued its multi-day recovery with a fourth straight session of intraday gains leading to a new high for us yesterday. We’ve talked about it almost every day this week, initially bringing it up in Monday morning’s report; at the time the stock was trading as low as 1.36.

It has made some nice, steady progress, and yesterday the stock made its way to  high of 2.25, marking an intraweek upswing of 65% on extremely heavy volume throughout.

We’ve also taken notice of series of Form-4 buys that were reported after hours yesterday, the largest of which was a 100,000 share block at an exercise price of 1.72. We’ll look for the stock, to maintain support at or above that level on any pullbacks moving forward in order to stay interested in tracking it.

APT Systems, Inc. APTY

This is another play we’ve been tracking since last Friday, and it too has managed an excellent uptrend this week, after we initially observed a low of .0036 subsequent to indicating our interest. Yesterday the stock traded in a range from .0065-.0125 for a 93% intraday push, and that new high marked a one week swing of 247%

We’re definitely going to stay on its trail heading into next week, provided it can hold support in the channel between .0072 and .01 on any upcoming pullbacks.

ACRE Reality Investments, Inc. AIII

Part of our bottom-watchlist that we submitted for Tuesday morning’s premarket report, AIII has made solid steps to the upside throughout the rest of the week, confirming the fact that we timed the bottom with absolute precision.

From Tuesday low of 1.0194, the stock has sustained a good recovery, and made its way back to a high of 1.32 yesterday (+29%). This is another one we’ll continue to follow into next week, as there still appears to be room for it to run.

As we’ve pointed out on the annotated chart below, the RSI is gaining strength having just breached the 50-line, the MACD is on the verge of a bullish cross, and the PPS is approaching key resistance at the 50 and 200DMA’s of 1.33 and 1.35 respectively. We’ll continue to monitor the situation as we close out another trading week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Earnings-Related Options Ideas

Earnings-Related Options Ideas

We’ve uncharacteristically neglected the options trading arena a bit this week, so this morning we’re going to start off by signaling a range of Calls in the chains of a couple stocks whose earnings have just been released.

Tesla Motors Corp. TSLA – Despite a miss on earnings released yesterday post-market, we’re seeing TSLA rebounding from its week-long slide in premarket trading this morning.

We’ll go ahead and formulate a conditional idea to correspond to the situation. Stipulating that the stock can hold support above the current 200DMA (225.98) on any pullbacks following the opening bell and break back above the 50DMA, we’re going to be monitoring the activity in TSLA Weekly $225-230 Calls for the possibility of some nice intraday upswing action.

_____

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA – In early trading BABA is gapping up after an earnings beat this morning which included a 39% boost in Q4 revs, and a 42% monthly rise in active usership via mobile platforms.

We’re going to signal a range of short-term calls for this play as well, zeroing in on the BABA Weekly $77-81 Calls for potential quick-strike trades.

Pot Stocks on Watch Again

There has been a lot of ebb and flow to general interest in cannabis plays, and it appears that we’re heading into another hot zone. We keep a continual watch over the entire sector, and there has been rising activity in many of the pot stocks that we track routinely.

The usual suspects to which we are referring are GRNH, MJNA, CBIS, TRTC, & CANV. We’ll be sure to keep each of them on closer watch in the sessions ahead.

Added Note:

xG Technology, Inc. XGTI, which we tracked from a low of .08 late last month and have been mentioning all this week, is seeing another early push today in the wake of some patent news(>>View PR) . Reserve a slot on your radars as the stock has reached a new high of .18 in the premarket today.

Recent Recovery Plays

As it turns out, Friday was a good day for us in terms of spotting stocks coming off of their recent relative lows that were ripe for a rebound. We tagged both APDN and MIL in that report, and in both cases we’ve seen extended signs of recovery.

Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. APDN – We’ve been familiar with APDN for quite some time, and were prompted to include it on Friday as a bottom-watch play after Thursday’s session had sent it hurtling off a cliff. Our observed low on Friday was 3.28, and as of yesterday high mark of 4.56, we had witnessed a 39% rebound.

MFC Industrial, Ltd. MIL – With MIL, we’ve seen a modest, yet healthy two-session swing of 13% ranging from Friday’s low of 2.63 to yesterday’s high of 2.97. We’re going to be very interested to follow its progress in the days ahead, as the chart still appears bullish.

In both cases, we’ll be looking for continued signs of strength with the recording of higher highs and higher lows going forward.

The Pot is Hot: Cannabis Sector Resurgence

We included Hemp, Inc. HEMP in yesterday’s premarket report as a result of the momentum that we’d noticed building up in the stock on Friday.

As our longtime readers are aware, we’ve been heavy followers of the cannabis space since its emergence a few years ago. While HEMP was the most actively traded stock on the OTC markets yesterday, we also saw a number of our other old favorites in the sector showing signs of renewed vigor as well. Among those were MJNA, GRNH, CBIS, MDBX, ERBB, TRTC.

We prepared a quick video containing some thoughts on the situation that we’d like to share, so be sure check it out:

Yesterday’s Other Winners:

Barfresh Food Group, Inc. BRFH – We tagged BRFH yesterday both for the positioning of the chart and the substance of the PR (link below)that the company released in the premarket. The result was a 22% intraday swing from .74-.90. This play will remain on our radars as the week progresses.

Western Graphite, Inc. WSGP – WSGP was another good call, as this super-subpenny performed an impressive dip-and-rip which culminated in an impressive intraday swing. After touching a low of .0003, we saw WSGP run as high as .0007; which registers as a 133% pop.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Revisiting the Cannabis Sector

Marijuana Sector Heating Up Again

Last year at this time, we were in the midst of one of the most exciting times for an individual sector that we’ve ever witnessed. You’ll recall that the 2014 New Year brought the beginning of the first legal recreational marijuana sales in Colorado, and as a result the interest in cannabis and related stocks went absolutely through the roof. The months-long free-for-all was punctuated by dozens of ‘pot plays’ making astronomical gains, and it went down in the books as one of the most exciting mega-trends we’ve ever lived through.

While we don’t expect to see anything of that hype-fueled magnitude this year, we did notice a significant rise in activity in several of the marijuana stocks that we’ve tracked all throughout 2014 ramping up at the end of last week, so we thought this morning would be a good time to call some attention back to the legal/medical cannabis arena.

Friday’s list of gainers read like a symbol-for-symbol recap of our pot stock watchlist. Among those, the most impressive were ones that we are used to seeing make incredible moves:

HEMP, CBIS, MJNA, EAPH, GRNH, MCIG, ERBB, & TRTC

*If you’d like to inspect our history with each stock, you can check the archives by typing bluehorseshoestocks.com/tag/____  and replacing the blank space with whichever symbol you’d like to pull up. It will furnish you with a chronological listing of each article that we posted on a given stock. (Note that this method can be used for any symbol we’ve ever covered, making us 100% transparent- just another reason why we feel our newsletter is the best around)

We will continue to make the monitoring of the cannabis sector a high priority for us as we settle into the New Year. More and more initiatives are being voted on all the time, and as we’ve been saying since 2012, the legalization of marijuana throughout the United States is going to play out like a domino effect. With measures having passed already in a handful of states, and several more slated to address  various degrees of the issue on impending ballots, the landscape of the industry should be expected to change and grow dramatically into the foreseeable future. Like always, we’ll be ready to capitalize on that growth as it happens.

Energous Corp. WATT

We also want to do a quick follow-up on WATT, a stock that we initially tagged on Wednesday Dec. 24th at a low of 8.40 and the stock has been on an overall uptrend in the five sessions since that time.

On Friday the stock managed to close in the 11.30’s and in the premarket today, we have seen trades go off as high as 12.65; that marks an increase over our observed low totaling 51%, so big congratulations are in order for anyone that has been tracking this play along with us.

There’s also some news out today about an agreement with an established electronics company that could help WATT speed up its wireless charging solution’s path to market. That’s a story we will definitely need to monitor moving forward:
