Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DLCR Update, Options & More

Veeva Systems, Inc. VEEV –  Options Update

We closed out yesterday’s report with a fresh options trading idea in the VEEV chain, and were not disappointed with the results.

We focused on VEEV after the company posted a mammoth year-over-year sales increase in its premarket earnings report. Our specific targets of interest were the VEEV Weekly $39-42 Calls and it came as no surprise to see solid intraday gain opportunities from each and every set of those contracts.

$39 Calls – Range: 1.55-2.25 – Max Gain: 45%
$40 Calls – Range: .85-1.53 – Max Gain: 80%
$41 Calls – Range: .50-.90 – Max Gain: 80%
$42 Calls – Range: .25-.50 – Max Gain: 100%

Kibush Capital Corp. DLCR

We placed DLCR on watch in yesterday’s premarket report, and were instantly met with chances for intraday gains by this subpenny swinger. From its low of .00297 first thing in the morning, the stock eventually reached a high .0046, representing a move of 55%

It marked the third straight session that DLCR has recorded higher highs and higher lows, and with a strong close at .0044, we’ll keep an eye out for continuation of the trend. For the stock to retain our interest it we’ll want to see it hold support at or above .0037 on any pullbacks.

Casino Stocks Heating Up – Options Ideas

After an unexpected increase in August gaming revenue in Macau (world’s largest casino hub) which broke a two year downtrend, we’re seeing a number of casino-related stocks that seem poised to perform really well, at least over the short-term.

The situation is leading us to put some options ideas on the table to correspond with current conditions:

Wynn Resorts Ltd. WYNN Weekly $92-94.50 Calls

Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd. MPEL Weekly $13.50-14 Calls

Las Vegas Sands Corp. LVS Weekly $51-52.50 Calls

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PCLN, EXPE Recaps & More

Yesterday’s Options Ideas
The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN– The buyout of Orbitz by Expedia yesterday seemed to cause a ripple effect throughout the travel-booking sector yesterday, with many similar stocks making strong performances on the day.

The contracts that we proclaimed our interest in for PCLN were the the $1065-$1085 Calls, and with PCLN rising as high as 1102.26, substantial profits were there for the taking.

The $1065 Calls made an excellent 140% move from a low of 15.04 all the way to 36.20, while the $1085’s shot from  4.50 to 17.15 in a huge intraday increase of 281%

Expedia, Inc. EXPE – As far as EXPE itself, our premarket idea of the $86 Weeklies yielded an excellent opportunity as they moved up from 1.50 to 5.77, a 285% spike.

Those traders who chose to strike a bit closer to the money could have scored big with the $88 Calls as well, which traded in a range from .45-2.95 (+555%)

More New Ideas

We’ve done so well with options calls these past few weeks that there’s no point in stopping now! We’ve got a couple of new ideas to radar this morning in the web security business.

Both stocks are gapping up today, so we will be on the lookout for dip-and-rip scenarios to facilitate potential trades in the following:

CyberArk Software, Ltd. CYBR – With CYBR, we’re going to start off looking at the $50 Calls, which closed yesterday at 1.70, and the  $55 Calls which closed at .60.

FireEye, Inc. FEYE – For FEYE, we’ll want to monitor the $39.50, $40, and $40.50 Calls (Closed at .55, .35, and .15 respectively.)

NeuroDerm Ltd. NDRM
NDRM exceeded all expectations yesterday after we caught it on an early morning news scan; it spent the entire day in full-on breakout mode setting records in both price and volume, trading almost 27X the norm over the six week period since the stock’s IPO.

Positive response to yesterday’s early morning press statement hurtled NDRM from an early low of 8.16 all the way up to 19.07 just prior to the close, making gains of up to 134% possible.

We’ll still be standing at the ready for an eventual course correction and chance for a dip-and-rip maneuver, but any way you slice it, NDRM is getting marked down as a huge winner. It’s a great way to close out what has, on the whole, been an absolutely stellar year.

Precious Metals on Watch: Gold, Silver

GDX and SLV have each been maintaining higher highs and higher lows since reaching a bottom in November. As we head into the New Year, we’re going to devote a good amount of focus to gold and silver, and tracking these indices and their options chains is going to be a good way to do that.

In particular, we’re going to be monitoring a few specific sets of contracts for each play:

  SLV – March $15-15.50 Calls

GDX – March $17.50-$18 Calls

As you can see from the side-by-side chart we drew up below, GDX and SLV are looking similarly ripe. We’ve got SLV breaking the 50-Line on the RSI, and GDX following closely behind in that regard, we’re seeing testing of the 50DMA’s on both charts, and each of the MACD’s are giving the indication of bullish crosses.

Side Note:
We’re also going to radar HMCP, a sub-penny momentum play that has had an interesting past few sessions.
