Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review, Other Updates

Options Review

Just to refresh our readers’ memories, we highlighted a range of call contracts for three separate plays on Friday, and we’re pleased to report that sizable gains were there for the taking regardless of which idea was chosen. It marked the continuation of a flawless streak of such ideas that we offered up over the past few weeks.

Our tracked calls and the magnitude of the gains that were available were as follows:

SPDR S&P 500 (SPY) Weekly $199-202 Calls – We’ve successfully played the SPY so many times it doesn’t even bear counting, and Friday was no different. From the low end of our range to the high, gains of 80-427% were made.

Finisar Corp FNSR Weekly $15 and $16 Calls – An earnings beat made the gains in FNSR calls possible, with the $15’s running 88%, and the $16’s making a 92% upswing.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. ULTA  Weekly $175-185 Calls –  Last but not least, we had the ULTA contracts on our watchlist bank gains running from 59-117%

Again, it was yet another great week for options, and we’ll be doing everything in our power to keep the streak alive with some more ideas this week so be sure to stay tuned!

Friday’s Stock Gainers

In addition to our great success with options plays from Friday’s morning report, we had a number of other intraday movers which were also highlighted.

Propanc Health Group Corp. PPCH

This was our top-billed mention on Friday, having been following it for most of last week. A string of solid performances led the stock on a great intraweek run to that point which spanned from our observed low of .0188 to .037 (+97%) in just a few sessions.

We saw even more gains tacked on there during Friday’s trading, wherein we witnessed another nice intraday pop from the daily low of .0355 to .0516 (+45%), and the high extended our total observed range to an impressive 174% in a matter of four sessions.

_____

Mexus Gold US (MXSG)

Mexus was another point of discussion in Friday’s newsletter, and it too saw appreciable gains on the day.

We’d already been very familiar with the stock after tracking over a more than 1000% move in early February. We then re-tagged it the Wednesday before last and subsequently witnessed a 61% swing from .011-.018.

Friday’s session brought a continuation of that run from .017 to a high of .0299, a 71% intraday rip, and increased the total swing range to 172%

_____

Spectrascience, Inc. SCIE

SCIE was included in Friday’s tracklist and the stock would end up trading in a range from .003 to .0047, for total possible intraday gains of up to 56% on slightly heavier than normal volume.

It also managed to close just a tick below the high of day, so we’ll keep an eye peeled for the possibility of momentum spillover into this new trading week.

GW Pharmaceuticals, Inc. GWPH

We want to pin GWPH to our tracklist after catching a significant PR coming across the wires this morning. Late-stage studies on a cannabidiol (CBD) treatment of a rare pediatric disease has yielded positive results, and the stock has thus far gapped up over 100% in the premarket.

We’ll take our classic stance of monitoring for a possible dip-and-rip situation and look to get positioned in some in-the-money Calls, dependent upon where the bounce occurs.

LONDON, March 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — GW Pharmaceuticals plc (GWPH) (GWP.L) (“GW,” “the Company” or “the Group”), a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing novel therapeutics from its proprietary cannabinoid product platform, announces the positive results of the first pivotal Phase 3 study of its investigational medicine Epidiolex® (cannabidiol or CBD) for the treatment of Dravet syndrome. Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Idea, Rebound Play

Alphabet Inc. GOOG – Options Idea

We want to start things off today by focusing on the possibility of taking advantage of the heavy activity in GOOG on the heels of its post-market earnings release yesterday. As one would expect from an untraded-upon earnings beat, GOOG is spiking considerably in early trading. On a related note, the new figures seem to have allowed Google to surpass Apple for the title of largest U.S. company.

We’ll be on the lookout for a potential early dip, then scan for the choicest action within the range of GOOG Weekly $780-800 Calls. We could be in line to see some hefty intraday and/or intraweek swings out of those contracts if things play out as we suspect they might.

3D Systems Corp. DDD

Despite a general bearish sentiment toward the 3D-printing sector as a whole in the media of late, we are seeing a potential opportunity with regard to DDD. Despite the array of poor publicity hitting newswires, the stock has been bucking the trend with a steady stair-stepping approach up off of its annual lows for the past couple of weeks.

The chart has an attractive look as you can see below, so we’re going to want to monitor DDD in the days and weeks ahead as its chances for an extended recovery seem fair. The first signal we’ll be looking out for is a breach of prior resistance at the highlighted level of 8.50.

Adaptive Medias, Inc. ADTM

ADTM took off like a rocket yesterday on news of a buyout offer of roughly nine times the company’s market cap leading into the session. What resulted was a scramble for shares, and the upward pressure pushed the stock all the way from an early low in the .40-range up to the mid-.70 area.

Subject to shareholder approval, the all-cash transaction would offer $35M, or 1.50/share. From current levels, reaching that price point would mark a roughly 100% move the the upside. We’ll have our eyes peeled for further updates on the deal, as well as the immediate effect that the news will continue to have on the stock.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Play, Momentum Mover & More

Horsehead Holding Corp. ZINC

The first thing that jumped out at us during this morning’s routine scans was a stock we’d classify as a prime bottom-play opportunity.

Additionally, the company itself deals in sourcing zinc from recycled materials, so there’s the added variable of zinc prices being on the rise in recent weeks, to the tune of nearly a ten-cent swing.

As for the ZINC chart itself, we’ve highlighted below the various aspects that we find attractive for the stock’s short-term recovery prospects. It has been bouncing off of its annual lows, and is currently giving a strong impression of being oversold. We’ll be very interested to track the stock’s progress in coming sessions.

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. ASTI

ASTI is soaring in the premarket on the strength of an impressive Q4 earnings release, which demonstrated a 90% quarter-over-quarter increase in revenue.

We’re going to place the stock on watch for the possibility of an early dip caused by profit-takers, followed by a subsequent bounce.

We’ve had tremendous good fortune with this stock in the past, with our most recent call coming in September when we followed it from the .10-range all the way up to .30.

HydroPhi Technologies Group, Inc. HPTG

We also want to radar HPTG this morning, a familiar stock that we most recently discussed in December. It has strung together a few solid sessions, and is in the midst of forming a golden cross of the 50DMA over the 200DMA on the chart.

We’ll want to keep an eye peeled for the possibility of an extended uptrend here, where there is an established record of volatile swing activity.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ASTI, CCTC Recap & More

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. ASTI

We’ve been watching ASTI closely over the past week or so as it’s traded up off a relative bottom on the chart. The stock has now strung together three consecutive sessions of registering higher highs and higher lows, including a nice intraday performance yesterday following the reminder in our premarket report.

From a daily low of .266, the stock traded as high as .35; a 33% swing, and an overall move of 84% over Friday’s low of .19. On any pullbacks from this point, we’ll need to see ASTI maintain a minimum level of support at or above the current 50DMA of .28 in order to keep our attention.

Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. CCTC

The other standout from yesterday’s morning report also came off of the extended watchlist in the form of CCTC, and it was a fairly steady runner for the majority of the session. The stock saw an early morning low of .45, and proceeded to trade as high as .64, marking a solid 42% intraday rip. Cheers to anyone who caught that timely alert.

We suggest our readers take a look at an article we found on CTCC, and the unique opportunity it presents as the coal industry is close to collapse. Lower natural gas prices have decimated coal, and the technology Pristine-M, conditions low-quality coal to improve energy output and in turn, boost the value of the product. >>> Read Article

Pazoo, Inc. PZOO

We were excited to see the content of yesterday’s news release from PZOO, which we posted on BlueHorsehoeStocks.com yesterday morning, as it pertains to the company’s continued exploration of opportunities in the legal cannabis sector. The announcement actually has the potential to generate business from countless other industries as well.

The technology highlighted by Pazoo is a “patented water conservation product, which guarantees at least a 10%, to as much as a 30%, savings in commercial property owner’s water bill.” We’re very excited about the possibilities that lay ahead as the establishment of this product continues, and will be sure to keep our ear to the tracks for further updates.

We also want to remind our readers that PZOO will be presenting in a special cannabis investor webcast at www.cannawebcast.com today, Thursday, September 10 at 11:00AM Eastern. We’ve provided links to both yesterday’s press and the webcast below:

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SPY Options Recap & More

SPY Options Update

We were so spot-on with our options alert on the SPY in yesterday’s premarket report, that we feel it necessary to quote our alert verbatim. We stated: “With another reversal appearing likely with this morning’s gap-up in the markets, we’ll want to swing our attention in the opposite direction. The SPY generally trades inversely to the UXVY, thus we’ll be monitoring SPY Weekly $195-197 Calls in the event of a continued uptrend signal.”

We certainly hope a good number of our readers were able to catch that, as every single one of the contract sets in our targeted range could have facilitated sizable gains on the session. Here’s a breakdown of the possibilities:

$195 Calls  – Daily Range: 2.05-3.50 – Max Gain: 71%
$195.50 Calls  – Daily Range: 1.75-3.15 – Max Gain: 80%
$196 Calls  – Daily Range: 1.48-2.80 – Max Gain: 89%
$196.50 Calls  – Daily Range: 1.25-2.45 – Max Gain: 96%
$197 Calls  – Daily Range: 1.01-2.15 – Max Gain: 113%

In order to take advantage of the SPY moving forward, we’ll need to see a continued boost in stocks. In that event, we may look to roll our strike prices closer to the money, namely the Weekly $198-200.50 Calls.

Apple to Announce iPhone 6S Plus – Options Idea

With Apple officially announcing the release of the iPhone 7 today, which is slated to go on sale at the end of next week, we’re going to want to stay ready for the possibility of an options play to one side or the other. We’ll need to guage public reaction to the new phone; an underwhelming product could result in a PPS decline for AAPL, in which case we’d be monitoring Weekly $112-50-114.50 Puts. In the event of a mainly positive reaction, of course, we’d flip that idea to the Call-side in the same strike price range.

Akebia Therapeutics, Inc. AKBA

AKBA is undergoing a mega gap-up in premarket trading today, largely due to yesterday’s after-hours report of positive Phase II study results. We’ll look to possibly take advantage of the situation; with such a rapid move up, it leaves AKBA open to a dip-and-rip pattern on the chart when sellers come out of the woodwork to take profits off of the table.

We’ve pointed out the previous swing highs as levels at which AKBA will need to maintain support on the dip, in order for us to remain interested:
